Immortality Through Array Formations

Chapter 1807: Chapter 901: Token_3

In this way, he had no way to start, to analyze the functional structure of the Sect Token.

Mo Hua felt, for the first time in a long time, that his proficiency in formations was still far from enough...

Learning knows no bounds.

Mo Hua pondered for a moment and decided to ask.

If you don’t know, learn; if you don’t understand, ask.

Even if he is now first in the Qianxue Array Competition and the Array Leader, it doesn’t mean he knows everything.

The study of formations is vast and profound, and he is still far behind.

As for who to consult, Mo Hua had already made plans.

He took some time to find Zheng Fang, then asked Zheng Fang to help inquire whether Elder Zheng had any free time recently, so he could pay him a visit.

Soon, Elder Zheng replied, saying he was available.

Thus, a few days later, in the elegant private room of the tea house in Tai Xu City.

Mo Hua and Elder Zheng started having tea together.

After a bit of small talk, Mo Hua got to the point and asked about the ”Sect Token”.

Elder Zheng was a little surprised.

This was not just a matter of going off-topic.

Elder Zheng said sternly, ”Let me remind you, the Sect Token involves sect secrets. If you dismantle someone else’s Sect Token and get found out, you might be hunted to the ends of the earth, with no rest until death...”

Mo Hua froze, ”Just dismantling it, is it that serious?”

All he knew was that if the Sect Token was lost, the sect disciple would be in big trouble.

But he didn’t expect that if an outsider dismantled a Sect Token, it would be such a big crime.

Elder Zheng said, ”Simply dismantling it might just be considered damaging the sect token, but... is your ’dismantling’ simple?”

Elder Zheng looked at Mo Hua, raising an eyebrow slightly.

Mo Hua gave an awkward smile and didn’t speak.

Elder Zheng pondered for a moment, then asked, ”Did Elder Master Xun teach you about this?”

Mo Hua shook his head.

Elder Master Xun only taught some Yuan Magnetic Formations, not much else in depth.

Moreover, he estimated that Elder Master Xun wouldn’t teach him, so he came directly to consult Elder Zheng.

Elder Zheng pondered for a moment, nodding slightly, ”It indeed is a bit off the syllabus, and it’s reasonable that Elder Master Xun wouldn’t teach it. Besides, it’s probably not Elder Master Xun’s forte in formations either...”

Mo Hua was puzzled, ”Isn’t Elder Master Xun a Fifth Grade Array Master, isn’t he proficient in Yuan Magnetic Formations?”

Elder Zheng shook his head and said, ”Every trade has its specialty. Formations are vast and profound, and no matter how deep one’s proficiency, an array master can’t be proficient in everything.”

”Moreover, the Sect Token involves more complex and special formation principles, which are of great significance.”

”The issue is more serious than you think, and Elder Master Xun probably doesn’t teach it to avoid bringing you trouble.”

Mo Hua nodded, seeming to understand.

Elder Zheng looked at Mo Hua deeply, flicked his fingers, sent a few formation flags flying, placed them around, and then lowered his voice, saying to Mo Hua:

”If you want to learn this formation, I can teach you, but you must consider carefully. Once you learn it, you mustn’t tell anyone, nor let anyone know.”

”Otherwise, if this matter is leaked, you could very likely be put on the ’blacklist’ of most sects, constantly guarded against wherever you go, haunting you to the point where someone might wish to kill you on sight...”

Mo Hua shuddered inside, his expression becoming much more solemn.

”Do you still want to learn?” Elder Zheng confirmed.

Mo Hua pondered for a moment, then nodded seriously, ”Yes, I want to learn.”

The more taboo, less open, the more it’s forbidden for others to learn, it precisely shows how powerful this formation is.

Since it’s a powerful formation, how can there be a reason not to learn?

Besides, he already possesses many inheritances that can’t see the light of day, one or two more won’t matter.

Elder Zheng nodded, ”Good.”

Mo Hua thought for a moment, suddenly realizing a question: ”Elder, you said that once I learn this formation, I mustn’t let anyone know. But you learned it too, aren’t you afraid of others knowing?”

Elder Zheng replied indifferently, ”Others don’t know.”

Mo Hua was stunned.

Elder Zheng said, ”In this world, the number of people who truly know I can do the Thunder Magnetism Formation is less than you can count on one hand.”

Mo Hua was shocked.

He didn’t expect that Elder Zheng, with his straightforward and honest appearance, could hide such secrets so deeply.

Mo Hua hesitated and asked, ”Is it really okay for you to tell me such confidential matters?”

Elder Zheng nodded and said, ”Trust never doubts, and doubt never trusts. Since I’m telling you, I’m naturally aware.”

Mo Hua felt trusted and a little moved.

”You can rest assured, I will tell no one,” Mo Hua nodded solemnly.

Seeing this, Elder Zheng nodded:

”It’s good you understand, the underlying principles of the Sect Token, I will now teach you, you can start researching, but before reaching the Golden Core, don’t waste too much thought on this.”

Then Elder Zheng paused, took a sip of tea, organized his thoughts, and began to explain:

”The Zheng Family inherits the ancient Thunder Formations, and studies the Dao of Eight Trigrams Thunder Skill.”

”This ’Thunder’ character, is truly profound, the knowledge too deep. Our Zheng Family has researched the Thunder Dao for so many years and roughly divided it into two sources: one is Thunder, and the other is Thunder Magnetism.”

”Above the Ninth Heaven, Thunder is transformed, with boundless power, capable of obliterating all things, with a power to destroy heavens and earth.”

”Between Heaven and Earth, Thunder Magnetism is everywhere, pervasive, yet traceless, able to transmit messages over thousands of miles, transmitting thoughts with a single idea.”

”The world only knows our Zheng Family researches the ’Thunder’ Dao.”

”But this Thunder Dao is so fiercely yang, and its slashing power so significant, that those who cultivate must have an unafraid Taoist Heart, upright and unyielding, and only a minority can cultivate it. Even if they do, it can’t be used lightly.”

”Actually, the livelihood of most formation masters in our Zheng Family, is the ’Thunder Magnetism Formation’.”

”The Thunder Magnetism Formation is also an offshoot of the Thunder Dao, widely applied, and most disciples of the Zheng Family can learn it...”

Mo Hua nodded.

Zheng Fang once challenged him for the junior brother position, with a family-inherited basic Thunder Magnetism Formation Diagram to test him.

”However,” Elder Zheng’s gaze darkened, ”most cultivators in this world, including many formation masters, misunderstand the Thunder Magnetism Formation.”

”Every field is like a mountain apart, especially so in formations. A single category of formation can be like a mountain range apart...”

”Basic Five Elements and Eight Trigrams are fine, there are commonalities, but esoteric Eight Trigrams, like the Qian Formation, Kun Formation, Thunder Formation, are very profound knowledge, hardly understood without study.”

”As for others, Yin and Yang, Three Talents, Four Symbols, Seven Stars, etc., there’s even less to say.”

”Those who study formations are called formation masters, but the differences between formation masters can be as vast and formidable as the difference between humans and dogs.”

”The Eight Trigrams Thunder Formation lineage, especially Thunder Magnetism, is also like this.”

”Common formation masters who are not proficient in this field often confuse Yuan Magnetism with Thunder Magnetism, but they fundamentally do not understand that Yuan Magnetism and Thunder Magnetism are actually two completely different frameworks.”

”’Yuan Magnetism’, at most, is something on an application level, whereas ’Thunder Magnetism’, these two words, involve truly unspoken and forbidden formation secrets...”

Mo Hua listened with rapt attention.

Elder Zheng taught with utmost seriousness.

Unbeknownst to him, Elder Zheng was opening for Mo Hua a door to perceive the world, to master thunder and magnetism, and to gain insight into the origin of it all...
