Immortal Sword Master

Chapter 365: Chapter 361: Xie Liuyun’s Entrustment, News of Liu Xianyu

”You didn’t hesitate to sacrifice yourself just to kill the Blood Demon King. That was an act of great sacrifice and compassion. You are a hero who has done the Human Race a great service. The Six Eastern Provinces should not forget you,” Ning Jiang said slowly.

A hero of the Human Race. Not many people could earn such an evaluation from Ning Jiang.

But everything Xie Liuyun had done indeed earned him the title of ”hero.”

A Celestial Martial Realm King could live for up to ten thousand years. If Xie Liuyun were still alive, he would have had countless years ahead of him. With his Celestial Martial Realm Cultivation, he could have enjoyed all the world’s splendors.

Yet he didn’t hesitate to perish along with the Blood Demon King.

If the Blood Demon King had survived, who knows how many living beings he would have slaughtered over these three hundred years. Blood Demons, as a part of the Demon Race, increase their power by constantly slaughtering others and devouring their blood.

But now, three hundred years later, very few people still remembered Xie Liuyun.

The only reason Ning Jiang knew of Xie Liuyun was because Yue Wenfu had told him some of the secrets of the Celestial Sword Grand Canyon.

Just as it was now, outside the Celestial Sword Grand Canyon, over ninety-nine percent of the Sword Cultivators had no idea who Xie Liuyun was or what he had accomplished.

”Forget it. I’m already dead. I don’t care about empty fame,” Xie Liuyun said, waving his hand dismissively.

”You’re wrong. This isn’t about empty fame.”

But Ning Jiang shook his head and said, enunciating each word, ”If the peace that great heroes win by sacrificing their lives can be forgotten, then who would be willing to be a hero? Who would be willing to make such a sacrifice?”

”For what you have done, everyone in the Six Eastern Provinces should know your name.”

Ning Jiang’s final words boomed like thunder.

”You... Thank you.”

Xie Liuyun took a deep breath and offered his thanks.

He knew what Ning Jiang said was right; some things must not be forgotten.

He had given his life for the Six Eastern Provinces. If no one in these Six Eastern Provinces truly remembered him, how could he not feel a sense of sorrow?

He only said he didn’t care because he knew he was already dead and could do nothing to change the situation.

”Don’t thank me. This is the honor you deserve,” Ning Jiang said, shaking his head.

He would recognize anyone who dared to fight the Demon Race.

”Young friend, could you tell me about the current state of the Six Eastern Provinces?”

Despite having been a King, Xie Liuyun was remarkably polite toward this young man, Ning Jiang. He even had the faint feeling that he ought to hold the youth before him in awe.

The young man’s eyes were as deep as the starry sky, and they held the faint, ancient weariness of someone who had once stood at the pinnacle of the world...

”Alright.”

Ning Jiang nodded and began to explain the current situation in the Six Eastern Provinces.

He spoke of the Seven Great Super Sects and the Eight Top Grade Sects. Beyond them, countless smaller sects vied for power, each carving out its own territory.

”Overall, it seems not much has changed in three hundred years.”

Xie Liuyun nodded.

The Seven Great Super Sects, for example, were all long-established sects with histories spanning several thousand years. The Top Grade Sects were each at least a thousand years old.

The one thing he hadn’t expected was that Ning Jiang had actually destroyed the Evil Spirit Sect, with the Myriad Swords Sect taking its place.

After they had spoken for a while, Ning Jiang cut straight to the point. ”You look like you’re hesitating to say something. If there’s anything you want me to do, just ask. In light of your great service, I will agree to any request, as long as it is within my power.”

”You are very direct, young friend. In that case, I won’t beat around the bush either. I do indeed have a favor to ask.”

Xie Liuyun said solemnly.

...

「Outside the canyon.」

Wei Qingxuan waited respectfully. More than a month had passed since Ning Jiang had gone inside, and he had been standing guard here that entire time.

Without an order from Ning Jiang, he would never dare to abandon his post.

TAP, TAP, TAP...

Just then, the sound of footsteps echoed from within.

Wei Qingxuan’s gaze shifted. He hurried forward, bowed, and said, ”Greetings, Master.”

Ning Jiang waved his hand and said lightly, ”Alright, our business here is done. Return to the Celestial Sword Sect. Focus on improving your Cultivation. I will have a use for you in the future.”

”Yes, Master.”

Wei Qingxuan obediently withdrew and departed from the area.

’The chess piece has been placed. Now I just have to wait for a critical moment to put it to use.’

Watching Wei Qingxuan’s retreating figure, Ning Jiang murmured to himself. Wei Qingxuan was the very chess piece he had planted in the Celestial Sword Sect.

The Celestial Sword Sect would never dream that a top-level genius who had comprehended Sword Intent would actually become his Sword Servant.

Putting the thought aside, he started walking out.

”Wei Qingxuan just came out. Looks like he’s the one who got the treasure inside, right?”

”I wonder what happened to Ning Jiang?”

”Look, Ning Jiang is coming out too!”

Many of the Sword Cultivators still lingered in the grand canyon. When they saw Ning Jiang emerge, all eyes turned toward him.

”May I ask, Sect Leader Ning, what exactly is inside the Celestial Sword Grand Canyon?”

A Sword Cultivator mustered his courage and asked. According to the rumors, Ning Jiang wasn’t a difficult person to get along with.

Sure enough, Ning Jiang didn’t ignore his question. He replied slowly, ”A great hero of the Six Eastern Provinces—one whom no one should ever forget!”

”A great hero?”

Everyone was stunned by his answer. They wanted to know what kind of treasure was inside, not hear such a strange reply.

”You will all understand soon enough.” Looking at their bewildered faces, Ning Jiang soared into the sky.

”What kind of trick is the Master of Myriad Swords Sect playing? He’s being so cryptic, I don’t get it at all.”

”I think he’s just trying to be mysterious, right?”

The crowd broke into discussion.

However, a few people in the crowd frowned, a realization dawning on them. ”Could he be talking about... Xie Liuyun?”

...

On the second day after Ning Jiang returned to the Myriad Swords Sect, a name began to spread throughout the Six Eastern Provinces at a terrifying speed.

That name was Xie Liuyun!

Naturally, Ning Jiang was the one behind it. With the Myriad Swords Sect’s current influence, publicizing Xie Liuyun’s contributions was a simple matter.

Just as Ning Jiang had said, Xie Liuyun was a hero of the Human Race and should not be forgotten by the Six Eastern Provinces.

Although the Myriad Swords Sect was not yet powerful enough to make Xie Liuyun’s name resound throughout the entirety of the Six Eastern Provinces, Ning Jiang would one day restore this honor to him.

It was what he deserved!

His name should be known by everyone in the Six Eastern Provinces.

As the name Xie Liuyun resounded throughout Qing Province, the Celestial Sword Grand Canyon erupted with activity.

Over the next few days, countless Martial Artists flocked to the Celestial Sword Grand Canyon to pay their respects.

The Celestial Sword Grand Canyon stretched for a hundred li.

Now, this hundred-li-long canyon was a sea of people. Some of the more sentimental female Martial Artists scattered flower petals, paying tribute to the King, Xie Liuyun.

’This time, I will not emerge from my seclusion until I comprehend Sword Intent.’

Sword King Chu Bai was also in the crowd, his eyes filled with determination. In addition to him, people from Wenhua City, the White Eyebrow Sword Sect, and others were also present.

These top-tier Sword Cultivators from Cyan Cloud Country had all come here filled with the utmost respect.

Gradually, November arrived.

The weather turned cold, and on this day, a heavy snow began to fall from the sky.

’Another harsh winter has arrived.’

Within the Myriad Swords Sect, Ning Jiang looked up at the sky. The day of his rebirth had also been on a cold winter day in November.

’Xie Liuyun, I imagine you aren’t lonely now, are you?’

”Sect Leader, we have news about Liu Xianyu!”

Just then, Yue Wenfu walked over to report the news.
