Immortal Sword Master

Chapter 355: Chapter 351: The Stratagem, The True Sword Intent

”Who in the world is this man? To make the Three Great Swords bow their heads to him? You have to understand, given the pride of the Three Great Swords, they didn’t even go to offer congratulations when the Myriad Swords Sect was founded.”

”That’s right. Not even the Myriad Swords Sect, at the height of its power, could make the Three Great Swords pay a visit. Could this young man be even more terrifying than the Myriad Swords Sect?”

”It seems the rumors are true. I think this must be the great figure who was said to be coming to Qing Province.”

The surrounding crowd erupted into discussion.

It was mainly because the bow from the Three Great Swords was just too astonishing.

”Alright. You three are now my Sword Guards, so there’s no need for further ceremony.”

The young man waved his hand and said nonchalantly.

But his words struck like a bolt from the blue, causing an uproar among the entire crowd.

Before, they were merely shocked. Now, they were horrified.

Sword Guards?

These two words essentially meant ”follower,” signifying that the Three Great Swords had pledged their allegiance to this young man.

A Sword Guard was different from a Sword Servant. A Sword Servant was a mere servant with no status to speak of. Sword Guards had relatively more freedom, but no matter how much freedom they had, one thing would never change: it was a relationship of inferiority.

Given the status of the Three Great Swords in Qing Province, they were actually following someone so much younger than them?

Was this real?

Countless disbelieving gazes turned toward the Three Great Swords, everyone’s eyes filled with confusion.

”There is no need for any of you to doubt it. We have willingly chosen to follow Young Master Wei and become his Sword Guards. This is our good fortune,” the old man in the rain-cloak declared.

”Indeed.”

”For Young Master Wei to see value in us and allow us to follow him is a sign of his magnanimity,” the other two said one after another, their flattery toward the young man knowing no bounds.

At that moment, the entire area fell silent.

Becoming Sword Guards, a position of inferiority, and they were actually calling it good fortune?

It was clear from their tone that they considered this a tremendous blessing, a stroke of destiny.

For him to inspire such thoughts in them, what kind of earth-shattering background did this young man possess?

”Seniors, what in the world is going on?”

Someone couldn’t suppress their confusion and asked.

The old man in the rain-cloak glanced at the young man. Only after the young man nodded did he announce in a clear voice, ”There is no need for surprise. Young Master Wei has graced Qing Province with his presence for two reasons. First, to explore the depths of this Celestial Sword Grand Canyon, and second, to establish a Sword Sect in Qing Province. When the time comes, all of you may join Young Master Wei’s Sword Sect.”

”What?”

The revelation sent shockwaves through the crowd, and everyone’s expression changed.

”A Sword Sect? Our Qing Province already has the Myriad Swords Sect. Is he establishing a second Sword Sect to compete with them?”

”Everyone, given Young Master Wei’s status, the Sword Sect he establishes will be no worse than the Myriad Swords Sect,” the old man in the rain-cloak said again.

This statement was another bombshell, causing widespread shock.

One must remember that the Myriad Swords Sect had annihilated the Evil Spirit Sect and was now one of the Eight Top Grade Sects. What gave this young man the ability to establish a Sword Sect that was no worse than the Myriad Swords Sect?

’How impressive. He’s only just shown up, and he’s already built up such momentum.’

Within the crowd, an old man watched Young Master Wei and exclaimed in amazement.

With the Three Great Swords acting as his Sword Guards and building his reputation, many people here would surely be tempted.

Looking around, he saw that many people’s faces showed interest, and they were eager to make a move.

Ning Jiang, however, stood there, unmoved.

He watched the young man. There was an aura about him that Ning Jiang found rather intriguing...

Just then, the young man’s gaze shifted and fell upon Ning Jiang. ”Your Sword Technique is quite good. I can give you an opportunity to follow me and become one of my Sword Guards. Moreover, with your strength, you can be the head of the Sword Guards.”

”Follow you?”

Ning Jiang glanced at him. The man spoke with a superior air, as if making him a Sword Guard was some kind of gift.

”In this world, there is no one I would follow.”

Ning Jiang said calmly.

This wasn’t arrogance, but a simple fact. It had only ever been others who followed him.

”Insolence! Young Master Wei is giving you a chance. Don’t be ungrateful.”

”What do you mean ’there is no one you would follow’? Being able to follow Young Master Wei is your good fortune.”

The Three Great Swords all frowned and rebuked him.

”Hmph. My defeated foes dare to make such a racket!”

Ning Jiang’s eyes snapped open, his gaze as sharp as a sword. The expressions of the Three Great Swords changed instantly. They felt a piercing aura wash over them, almost suffocating them.

This was Ning Jiang channeling a bit of his Cultivation.

In the battle just now, he had been competing purely on Swordsmanship from start to finish, without using any Power from his Cultivation.

Otherwise, with his Cultivation, he could have crushed them all.

The so-called Three Great Swords hadn’t even reached the Immortal Realm. What qualifications did they have to stand against him?

”Fiery, are we? So be it. If you’re unwilling, then it wasn’t meant to be. There’s no need to force it.”

The young man waved his hand, but then his tone shifted. ”However, since you have refused me, this True Essence of Sword Intent will have no fate with you either.”

His gaze flickered toward the True Essence of Sword Intent in the canyon.

The True Essence of Sword Intent slowly floated over, making many people’s eyes burn with desire, but this treasure held no particular attachment for him.

What he truly cared about was what lay inside this canyon. That was the real reason he had come to Qing Province.

Deep within the canyon, it was highly likely there was something left behind by that Celestial Martial Realm King. That was his true goal!

As for taking on Sword Guards and establishing a Sect, that was all to build his own power base. In the Sect he came from, each of the top figures had powerful experts following them. Whenever they needed something done, they just had to dispatch their Sword Guards.

He, however, was lacking in this sort of resource, which was why he had turned his sights to Qing Province.

And Sword Guards alone were not enough to satisfy him.

He even had designs on the Myriad Swords Sect.

’If I can get the Myriad Swords Sect under my control, then I’ll have some capital to compete with that man, won’t I?’

’Ling Tianxu, if I can obtain what’s inside this canyon and successfully execute my plan in Qing Province, then even if you have a Sword King Body, I will no longer be weaker than you!’

The young man’s eyes glinted; he was determined to obtain what was inside the Celestial Sword Grand Canyon.

While he was lost in thought, the True Essence of Sword Intent had already drifted near.

Then, with a simple gesture of his palm, Ning Jiang unleashed a suction force and pulled the True Essence of Sword Intent into his hand.

”Hm?”

The young man’s gaze instantly snapped to Ning Jiang, apparently not expecting him to actually take the True Essence of Sword Intent right in front of him.

One had to remember, he had just said that this item had no fate with Ning Jiang!

By doing this, wasn’t Ning Jiang slapping him in the face?

”Put it down.” The young man’s voice grew several shades colder.

”Once something is in my hands, no one can take it away.”

Ning Jiang’s voice was calm. Ignoring the young man’s icy gaze, he directly put away the True Essence of Sword Intent.

BOOM!

In that instant, everyone felt a terrifying aura erupt from the young man’s body.

The sheets of fine rain trembled in unison.

”This is... Sword Intent! True Sword Intent!”

The countless Sword Cultivators cried out in horror.

The Three Great Swords lowered their heads, their eyes showing reverence.
