Immortal Sword Master

Chapter 358: Chapter 354: Clash of Two Swords: Cyan Profound Sword and Snow River Sword

Like a white rainbow piercing the sun, a terrifying surge of Sword Qi shot toward the heavens.

WHOOSH!

The Sword Intent was like a great storm, howling in every direction.

The robes of the many Sword Cultivators billowed noisily, and they couldn’t even keep their eyes open.

CLANG.

Several nearby Treasure Swords lost control and shot into the air.

Sword Intent only displays its greatest power when paired with a sword.

”To think that in this backwater Qing Province, there’s actually someone who can force me to draw my sword.”

Young Master Wei gripped a longsword. The entire blade was cyan and enveloped in a layer of sharp Sword Qi. It was longer than a typical sword, with a flat spine engraved with an ancient pattern. The pattern extended down to the guard and grip, right where his hand clasped it.

This was a Middle Grade Spirit Sword, and a Top Level one at that.

In truth, with Young Master Wei’s status, he could have easily obtained an Upper Grade Spiritual Sword. However, such swords consumed far too much power; for someone at the Primordial Spirit Fourth Tribulation Realm, just a few techniques would completely drain their Spiritual Qi.

For an expert at the Primordial Spirit Realm, a Middle Grade Spirit Sword was more than enough.

”This sword is named the Cyan Profound Sword. It was forged from the priceless Myriad Years Green Gold, a process that took twelve Artifact Refiners half a year of painstaking effort. On the day of its completion, a cyan rainbow shot into the sky like a pillar, a phenomenon that lasted for a full hour.”

As Young Master Wei spoke, he gently stroked the Cyan Profound Sword in his hand as if gazing upon a lover.

Every Sword Cultivator holds an extraordinary affection for their sword; some even consider their sword to be their very life.

”Remember this. The sword that will kill you is the Cyan Profound Sword. The man who will kill you is named Wei Qingxuan.”

Wei Qingxuan was his name, and he had bestowed the name Cyan Profound Sword upon his blade.

This meant that in his heart, he viewed the sword as his very life.

’No wonder he was able to comprehend Sword Intent.’

Understanding dawned in some of the onlookers’ eyes. Wei Qingxuan regarded his sword with such importance that he named it after himself. This was enough to show that he possessed a heart of utmost sincerity for the Sword Dao.

’It made sense. If he didn’t possess some unique merit, how could he have possibly comprehended Sword Intent?’

After all, even in the Celestial Sword Sect, fewer than ten among the younger generation had managed to comprehend Sword Intent.

This time, Ning Jiang didn’t underestimate Wei Qingxuan. Though he disliked the man, he had to admit he was an outstanding Sword Cultivator.

”Snow River Sword.”

Ning Jiang spoke three words and drew a sword.

As the sword appeared, an intensely cold aura spread out, causing many of the Martial Artists to shiver.

This was the Snow River Sword, the blade Ning Jiang had chosen from the treasury of the Star Sword Sect. Much like the Ice Soul Sword, its chilling aura was overwhelming, which was why it had caught his eye.

’However, this Snow River Sword is just a temporary tool for me.’

’I’m going to refine a Spirit Sword myself. How could a blade forged by anyone else ever be worthy of my consideration? In fact, my original purpose in coming to the Celestial Sword Grand Canyon was to use the Sword Intent here for Artifact Refining.’

’Who would have expected this sudden development? It’s a pleasant surprise.’

”This is your sword? Its aura hasn’t merged with yours. It’s not your Lifebound Treasure Sword!” Wei Qingxuan saw the truth with a single glance at the Snow River Sword.

What was a Lifebound Treasure Sword?

A Lifebound Treasure Sword required a Martial Artist to refine it day and night. After a long period of attunement, an ineffable connection would form between the sword and the Martial Artist.

Only then could the sword unleash its greatest power. Furthermore, if such a sword fell into another’s hands, they would find it difficult to control, as it would already be imbued with its original owner’s aura.

Wei Qingxuan’s Cyan Profound Sword, for instance, had been with him for over three years. Its aura was connected to his; they were practically one and the same.

However, Lifebound Treasure Swords had one drawback: if the sword was damaged, its master would suffer a backlash.

”It’s enough to kill you.”

Ning Jiang replied coolly. ’A Lifebound Treasure Sword is certainly powerful, but the Sword Master wielding it is what truly matters.’

’If the man is strong, the sword is strong.’

”You’re the first person in many years to dare speak to me like that. For that, I’ll grant you a complete corpse.”

Wei Qingxuan’s eyes flew open.

CRACKLE!

It was as if two bolts of lightning flashed through the air.

The very air seemed to be sliced apart by his gaze, letting out a sizzling sound.

This was the power of someone with Sword Intent. They could kill with a single glance. The might of Sword Intent was truly awe-inspiring.

”You alone are not worthy.”

Ning Jiang sneered.

’Forget a single Wei Qingxuan; so what if I were facing the Sword King Body, Ling Tianxu himself?’

’Wei Qingxuan could never comprehend my Realm.’

BOOM!

At that moment, an overwhelming Sword Intent surged from Wei Qingxuan’s body, climbing higher and higher. The Sword Aura in his eyes grew ever brighter, and the very air seemed on the verge of freezing solid.

The expressions of the many Sword Cultivators changed drastically as they scrambled to retreat.

With Wei Qingxuan at the center, the air in a radius of hundreds of feet became intensely sharp. Anyone who stepped within would be assaulted by his Sword Intent.

’True Sword Intent is overwhelmingly powerful. Half-Step Sword Intent is pathetically weak in comparison.’

’Someone who has comprehended Sword Intent has an overwhelming advantage against other Sword Cultivators. Even if that man is strong, his defeat is certain.’

Many of the Sword Cultivators shook their heads.

At this moment, their Treasure Swords were vibrating ceaselessly, letting out long hums as if expressing their submission to Wei Qingxuan.

But Ning Jiang just stood there, the onrushing Sword Intent feeling like nothing more than a gentle breeze on his face, completely unaffected.

”First, take one of my strikes.”

With his sword in hand, Wei Qingxuan’s entire demeanor changed. He became perfectly calm, all traces of his earlier impatience gone. He looked down on Ning Jiang as one would an ant.

He raised the Cyan Profound Sword and slashed downward.

Instantly, a beam of cyan light blossomed. The surrounding air parted like a tidal wave, rolling away to both sides.

This was the same Sky-Splitting Sword technique he had used before. Back then, he had merely channeled it with his fingers; its power, while great, was nothing compared to this.

The cyan Sword Aura shot forward as if to tear open the very sky.

”Fight.”

With no fear in his eyes and his battle spirit boiling, Ning Jiang brought his sword down.

Four Extremes One Sword.

The two attacks collided. The void seethed as Spiritual Qi surged, and countless sharp streams of Sword Qi erupted in an instant.

BANG.

From within the storm of sharp Sword Qi, the two men shot out simultaneously, crashing violently into each other like two bolts of sword light.

CLANG.

Their swords clashed, sending sparks flying in all directions.

”Let’s see what level your Sword Technique is really at.”

Wei Qingxuan was supremely confident in his Sword Technique. After all, he was from the Celestial Sword Sect, where he had received the best training and frequently sparred with other experts.

Among the younger generation, those whose Sword Technique could be said to surpass his were few and far between.

CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG...

The three-foot blade was a weapon balanced for both offense and defense.

The two men now stood just three feet apart, dueling with their swords.

This was no longer a contest of Martial Techniques, but a pure test of whose Sword Technique was superior. Their attacks were a flurry of simple moves: slashing, hacking, thrusting, parrying, lifting, and blocking...

Everyone’s heart was in their throat.

In a pure clash of Sword Technique, who would emerge victorious?

Would it be the mysterious Ning Jiang, or Wei Qingxuan, the prodigy with an astonishing background?
