Immortal-Exterminating Divine Venerable

”What? That little bastard Yang Xiao beat you up?”

In the Northern Wilderness Forest, at the headquarters of the Sword and Saber Alliance, the Alliance Leader Yann Chihuo—known as the Dual Master of Sword and Saber—erupted in fury when he saw the sorry state of Yann Kuan and his companions.

This was his son, after all.

His most beloved son, and Yang Xiao had beaten him.

He’d also beaten his two most valued disciples.

Now, they looked practically crippled. How could Yann Chihuo not be enraged?

But as the leader of a sect, Yann Chihuo didn’t immediately clamor to go after Yang Xiao. Instead, he suppressed the rage in his heart and asked, ”Did you reveal your identities? What about the people from the other Sects?”

”Of course we did! We told him we were envoys of the Nine Sects Alliance, but he has no respect for the rules at all! He even confiscated our Guardian Beast! Oh, and he killed someone!”

”Killed someone? Who did he kill? Right, where’s Liu Yidao? Why is it just you and Zhang Ao...?”

At this point, Yann Chihuo couldn’t continue.

Because he had already figured it out.

His expression grew even darker.

Although he had never been fond of the disciple Liu Yidao, thinking him nothing but a bootlicker who followed his son around, he was, in the end, a True Disciple of the Sword and Saber Alliance.

Killing him...

...was a slap in the face to the Sword and Saber Alliance.

Yann Chihuo was a man who cared deeply about his reputation.

How could he not be furious?

However, Yann Kuan’s next words made his Heart Spirit freeze.

”It wasn’t just Liu Yidao. Zhang Tao—yes, Zhang Tao, the Junior Sect Leader of the Six Yang Sect—and Xiaoo Chengjun—that’s right, Young Master Xueyue, Xiaoo Chengjun—are both dead! And besides the Guardian Beast from our Sword and Saber Alliance, he confiscated the beasts from the other three Sects as well! He also said...”

”What else did he say?”

”He said he would personally come to the Northern Wilderness Forest. But when he does, he’ll come as the Sect Leader of a newly-risen power. He also said... he said for all you old-timers to be waiting for him!”

Yann Kuan had wanted to embellish his story a bit more to stir up more hatred for Yang Xiao, but he stopped when he saw his father’s face had turned as black as charcoal.

He didn’t dare say another word.

After a moment of silence, Yann Chihuo suddenly stood up and said to Yann Kuan, ”Come. You’re coming with me to see the Ancestor.”

Upon hearing this, Yann Kuan, who had been feeling uneasy, immediately brightened up.

He eagerly trotted after his father to see the Ancestor.

For this Nine Sects Grand Competition, something major must have happened. Not only had their Sword and Saber Alliance’s Ancestor come, but even the ancestors of the other major Sects had arrived.

Of course, not many people knew this.

Even Yann Kuan had only found out by accidentally overhearing his father let it slip.

But that didn’t matter to him at all.

Right now, he only cared about when his Ancestor would avenge him.

When he would make a move against Yang Xiao.

Soon, Yann Kuan met his Ancestor. He was just about to start wailing and complaining when he saw Yann Chihuo lift him up and place him on a table.

Immediately after, the Ancestor of the Sword and Saber Alliance stepped forward.

He raised a hand and made a grasping motion.

Instantly, Yann Kuan felt the searing Vigorous Qi that had been tormenting him for days stir within his body.

It began to surge wildly.

The pain was excruciating.

Meanwhile, the Ancestor of the Sword and Saber Alliance’s expression grew solemn.

He increased his power.

But the Vigorous Qi in Yann Kuan’s body was still not drawn out; instead, it grew even more violent.

The Ancestor of the Sword and Saber Alliance’s expression changed.

He reluctantly stopped.

”What is it, Ancestor?”

Yann Chihuo looked puzzled.

In his mind, with his Ancestor taking action, it should have been easy to extract the Vigorous Qi from his son’s body and return him to normal. Moreover, he could have used that Vigorous Qi to gauge that brat Yang Xiao’s strength.

Although he was furious, as the leader of a sect, Yann Chihuo was no fool.

’How could Yang Xiao be so arrogant without something to back him up?’

’Besides, the Purple Sun Sect was destroyed, and so was Medicine King Valley.’

’They say it’s all related to Yang Xiao.’

’It would be impossible not to be wary of him.’

Sending the younger generation to the Purple Sun Sect this time was precisely to test Yang Xiao.

And now, they had indeed learned something from the test.

”This little fellow is certainly impressive. Kuan’er, you’re coming with me to the Profound Celestial Sect.”

The Sword and Saber Alliance’s Ancestor said, his face grim.

He had lost a great deal of face by failing to draw the Vigorous Qi out of Yann Kuan’s body.

That was why his expression was so dark.

Yann Kuan didn’t dare act presumptuously any longer.

That last ordeal had been agonizing.

Besides, seeing his Ancestor’s expression...

...he was scared too.

He didn’t dare say anything more.

He followed his Ancestor all the way to the Profound Celestial Sect.

As the currently most powerful sect among the Upper Three Sects, the Profound Celestial Sect occupied a vast and heavily guarded territory.

But when the Ancestor of the Sword and Saber Alliance arrived in person, he was not stopped. The Sword and Saber Alliance was, after all, a power propped up by the Profound Celestial Sect.

The two had extremely deep ties.

Just like Medicine King Valley and the Purple Sun Sect.

Similarly, there was the Pure Yang Sword Sect and the Sword Casting Sect.

Their relationship was the same.

So, very quickly, the Ancestor of the Sword and Saber Alliance met with the Sect Leader of the Profound Celestial Sect.

Xuan Shangqing.

When the Sword and Saber Alliance’s Ancestor explained his purpose, this expert who had reached the level of a Half-Step Martial Saint also had his expression tighten. He raised his hand and made a gesture toward Yann Kuan’s body.

It was the exact same move the Ancestor of the Sword and Saber Alliance had used earlier.

But this time...

...the Vigorous Qi in Yann Kuan’s body was successfully pulled out.

He looked at the glassy, colored Flame Qi, gave it a firm squeeze, and it dissipated.

However, Xuan Shangqing’s face showed not a hint of triumph, only endless gravity.

”A mere wisp of this boy’s Vigorous Qi possesses such power,” he said. ”I’m afraid even I am no match for him. For this matter, we may have to ask the Supreme Elders to intervene.”

Compared to the leaders of other Sects, the Sect Leader of the Profound Celestial Sect held greater authority.

With the exception of their most terrifying Ancestor, he had the authority to command nearly all the other Martial Saint Level Supreme Elders.

Hearing this, the Ancestor of the Sword and Saber Alliance’s expression changed as well.

”You can rest assured about this matter,” Xuan Shangqing continued. ”This boy, Yang, has a mysterious background. It’s highly likely he’s connected to the sworn enemy our Profound Celestial Sect’s patriarchs have mentioned through the generations. You may leave for now. Remain quiet and do not act rashly. When something happens, I will have someone contact you.”

”Yes, Sect Leader.”

Though he was also a Half-Step Martial Saint, the Ancestor of the Sword and Saber Alliance showed no temper at all in front of Xuan Shangqing. Instead, he acted like a subordinate.

Yann Kuan was even more afraid to make a sound.

However, he had heard the Sect Leader of the Profound Celestial Sect himself speak.

This put his heart at ease.

Others might not know, but as the Young Alliance Leader of the Sword and Saber Alliance, Yann Kuan certainly did.

He knew just how terrifying the power of the Profound Celestial Sect was.

In the entire Celestial Cloud Region, there was nothing they couldn’t do, only things they didn’t want to do.

’If Yang Xiao provoked them...’

’...he was a dead man.’

After Yann Kuan had left, several more people appeared in Xuan Shangqing’s room.

One of them, dressed in snow-white robes, remained dashingly handsome despite his head of white hair.

Another had a pair of purple eyebrows and radiated an imposing aura without even being angry.

There was also a woman.

She appeared to be in her forties but still possessed a mature charm. A faint, chilly aura emanated from her, warning others not to get too close.

The last person...

...was as tall and sturdy as an iron tower.

If Yann Kuan or the Ancestor of the Sword and Saber Alliance had still been there, they would have surely recognized them.

These four people.

They were none other than the Manor Lord of Snow Moon Manor, Xiaoo Bufan; the Sect Leader of the Six Yang Sect, Zhang Baxian; the Supreme Elder of the Ice Profound Sect, Bing Qingying; and the Great Elder of the Sword Casting Sect, Xingtian Qil.

The upper echelons of the Four Sects had gathered together in the Profound Celestial Sect. What could they be discussing?
