I'm Trapped in the Block

Chapter 390: Chapter 387: The Lego Man’s Quarrel

Li Luo walked alone across the vast, mirror-like surface, with Block in tow. The mirror reflected her solitary figure.

She glanced back from time to time. Not far behind her, a portly figure made of building blocks was arguing with another head on its body.

”Just snatch the transcendence already! It doesn’t belong to anyone. Whoever holds it, owns it!”

The gaunt head kept popping out of the portly Lego Man’s body, egging it on.

”We have so many relics. Dealing with a mere human should be child’s play, shouldn’t it?”

The portly figure kept trying to stuff the head back into its body.

It sighed and reasoned, ”That would be immoral.”

”What morality is there in the Sea of Creation?! We’ve been here for so long, we’ve seen every kind of race imaginable! You’ve seen the creatures that treat death as the highest honor, and you’ve seen those that consider filth sacred. And you’re still talking to me about ’morality’?”

The portly figure listened to the head and fell silent for a moment before answering in earnest, ”Morality has nothing to do with others. It’s my own internal scale. If I feel something is wrong, I won’t do it. Is there a problem with that?”

The head was taken aback by this. It stopped struggling and allowed the portly figure to push it back inside.

After a while, the head popped out again.

”But that’s transcendence! Is morality really that important?” It seemed to be asking the portly figure, but also muttering to itself.

”What do you think?” the portly figure shot back.

”Ugh, so indecisive! So indecisive!” the head cursed angrily before retracting on its own.

The portly figure finally breathed a sigh of relief and resumed following Li Luo.

Ever since deciding to follow Li Luo, it had been like this—keeping its distance while constantly bickering with the head on its body.

The two of them rarely agreed, but the portly figure always managed to gain the upper hand, and the arguments always ended in its victory.

Still, the head’s nagging was mentally exhausting for the portly figure.

Li Luo remained highly wary of the unstable element behind her. She had long since put on her translator, ready to strike at the first sign of anything detrimental to her.

Fortunately, the portly figure was consistently able to keep the crazed head in check, preventing it from making any dangerous moves against her.

Amid the bickering behind her, Li Luo also gleaned some information about the Sea of Creation:

”How long are you going to follow her? What if she leaves the Sea of Creation and God doesn’t even notice her?” the head popped out and urged.

”Didn’t you say God would definitely appear?” the portly figure retorted.

”What if God is sleeping?”

”Gods can sleep?”

”Why not? We sleep, so God must sleep too!” the head declared adamantly. ”That’s why it’s safer to just get our hands on the transcendence. Why don’t you make your move now? She doesn’t seem to be on guard at all.”

Hearing this, Li Luo’s fists clenched instantly.

”Sigh.” The portly figure sighed helplessly once more. The head was always trying to find a way to convince it to attack the human.

”The Sea of Creation is vast. As long as the divine object is here, God will certainly appear. Stop trying to persuade me,” the portly figure said, exasperated.

”You don’t even have that much courage! You call yourself a Seeker of the Divine? Opportunity is staring you in the face, yet you’re just hemming and hawing! If God saw this attitude, they might as well go back to sleep!”

”Look at the other Seekers of the Divine! They perform sacrifices, they make pilgrimages! They do whatever it takes to bring about God’s advent—that’s how you show sincerity! No wonder others succeed in summoning God while you just wander aimlessly around the Sea of Creation every day!”

”Wasting so much time... If it were me, I would’ve taken the transcendence long ago! By now, I might even be negotiating terms with God! So indecisive! So indecisive!”

The head grew agitated again, relentlessly tormenting the portly figure.

The portly figure would stuff it back into its body, only for it to pop out from somewhere else, determined to have the last word. Eventually, it became a game of whack-a-mole.

The head seemed to have an endless supply of words, constantly provoking the portly figure with examples of other Seekers of the Divine.

Finally, the portly figure couldn’t take it anymore and stopped bothering with the head that kept popping up all over the place.

”How about I let you out, and you go snatch it?”

At this, the head actually fell silent and buried itself away.

”I’m not going. You go.”

The portly figure was so exasperated it laughed. ”After all that talk, you’re not willing to go yourself?”

”That would be immoral,” the head replied, directly quoting the portly figure.

”Didn’t you say there’s no morality in the Sea of Creation?”

”Well, I do!”

The head retorted defiantly. Then, knowing it was in the wrong, it burrowed back into the blocks and didn’t reappear.

The bickering from behind finally died down, and the tension that had kept Li Luo on edge began to ease.

She now had a general understanding that neither of the two consciousnesses in the Lego Man would do anything truly out of line.

However, Li Luo was still deeply puzzled. What exactly was this ”God” the Lego Man kept mentioning, and what did it want with the Block?

She looked at the Block beside her, her eyes filled with concern. ℯℯ𝑙.

Mo Ling had also been listening to the Lego Man bicker.

Through their constant arguing, Mo Ling discovered that he was slowly beginning to understand the Lego Man’s language.

They emitted a rhythmic CLICK-CLACK sound, like different blocks colliding.

Different rhythms represented different meanings. It was a peculiar language that seemed to prioritize conveying the speaker’s emotions over literal meaning, with the cadence changing based on the Lego Man’s mood.

Mo Ling was shocked. For some reason, he could clearly understand the specific meaning behind this language.

Moreover, he could even understand the source of the block-collision sounds.

The sounds of different blocks colliding were distinct:

Flat, plate-like blocks colliding with each other produced a rather dull sound.

The sound of long, bar-shaped blocks colliding was crisper.

The collision of irregular trapezoidal and polygonal blocks each had its own unique frictional sound. Though extremely subtle, the difference was perceptible if one listened closely...

The way the blocks fit together followed a pattern. You couldn’t place a bar-shaped block on the apex of a triangular one, as it would create an imbalance and cause the structure to collapse.

This ”block language” had a similar grammar. A ”bar collision” could be followed by a ”triangle collision,” but not the other way around. That was the rule of the language.

These different block-collision sounds could ultimately be assembled into different ”block sentences” to express different meanings.

For some unknown reason, the origin of this language began to surface in Mo Ling’s mind, as if he had truly studied its peculiar structure before.

This feeling of innate understanding was incredibly strange to Mo Ling.

’Could the Block... really be related to their God?’
