I Can Devour Spirits

Xiao Yu hid within the canopy of a large beech tree, peering through the gaps in the leaves at the scene not far away.

Underneath a large tree, Ximen Kankan was crying his heart out in grief.

Clearly, someone was lying in front of Ximen Kankan, but from Xiao Yu’s vantage point, Ximen Kankan’s back obscured the view, preventing her from seeing who was on the ground.

Xiao Yu nearly leapt down.

Because seeing Ximen Kankan weep so sorrowfully, she feared that the person lying beneath the tree was Duan Rong.

Xiao Yu didn’t originally know, but after what had transpired at the city gate and along the journey, she was aware that Duan Rong not only shared a deep bond with Ximen Kankan but also seemed to have some connection with the Ximen Family.

Xiao Yu was about to jump down when she suddenly noticed that the person lying there had one bare foot, but the other foot was clad in an embroidered satin shoe.

”It’s a woman! It’s Xia Shuangshuang!” Xiao Yu’s expression changed, and she halted her move.

Ximen Kankan’s throat was hoarse from crying, and only then did his sobbing gradually subside, though he was still sniffling and sobbing...

He had been infatuated with Xia Shuangshuang since he was about ten years old, and seeing her dead now was like having his heart severed.

Xiao Yu was no longer focused on Ximen Kankan, instead scanning the surroundings. With Ximen Kankan making such a commotion, any nearby members of the Filthy Blood Sect would surely be alerted.

But Xiao Yu waited a long time, and there was no sign of anyone nearby.

Xiao Yu breathed a silent sigh of relief; this indicated there were no Filthy Blood Sect members in the vicinity.

Only then did Xiao Yu finally jump down from the beech tree, walking slowly to Ximen Kankan’s back.

Ximen Kankan was still sobbing and paid no attention as Xiao Yu approached.

Xiao Yu sighed and said coldly, ”Stop crying!”

Hearing someone speaking behind him, Ximen Kankan jumped in fright. Seeing Xiao Yu, he was immediately even more sorrowful, wailing, ”Xiao Yu, Shuangshuang is dead.”

Xiao Yu said, ”Stop crying! If you keep crying, you’ll attract the Filthy Blood Sect.”

”No,” Ximen Kankan replied confidently, ”All the Filthy Blood Sect members nearby were killed by Ah Mo.”

Xiao Yu now saw not far off, by a large banyan tree, a beggar who had died a miserable death. Seeing the horrifying large blood hole in the beggar’s chest, it was undoubtedly Ah Mo’s doing.

Xiao Yu had to admit that what Ximen Kankan said made sense.

Xiao Yu glanced at Ximen Kankan—his face smeared with tears and snot, yet his mind seemed clear.

”Stop crying. She’s dead; can you bring her back to life by crying? I ask you, have you seen Duan Rong?”

”Duan Rong?” Ximen Kankan sniffled, raising his eyes, ”Haven’t seen him yet.”

Xiao Yu said, ”Get up, let’s go find Duan Rong together.”

Ximen Kankan had significant skills, proving to be an asset.

Moreover, as Ximen Kankan mentioned, Ah Mo likely already swept through this area. So where could Duan Rong be?

Once Ximen Kankan heard they were going to search for Duan Rong, he became interested, wiped his nose, and stood up, asking, ”Where should we look?”

Xiao Yu said, ”The two of us will search around here first. If we can’t find him, we’ll check by the official road.”

Ximen Kankan nodded; he didn’t want anything to happen to Duan Rong, and being with Xiao Yu also provided company.

Ximen Kankan said, ”Let’s head that way. I came from that direction and didn’t see anyone.”

Xiao Yu glanced in the direction Ximen Kankan pointed, a place she hadn’t explored yet, and she nodded.

Ximen Kankan gave one last longing glance at Xia Shuangshuang before following Xiao Yu into the thick forest in that direction.

Xiao Yu’s gaze was very alert, constantly surveying the surroundings.

Ximen Kankan, having vented his grief, was now calm again, staying vigilant to any movement around with Xiao Yu.

At another spot by the forest’s edge.

Shen Mizi gripped a long sword, cold sweat dripping down her face. A dull pain lingered in her Dantian, and she knew her Inner Breath was nearly exhausted.

Not far in front of her, a dwarf, holding a long whip, was grinning at her.

The dwarf was not only short but also extremely ugly, and his smile was somewhat chilling.

”Little beauty! If you can’t hold on, don’t force it! This is a fun place with heaven as the tent and earth as the blanket!”

The dwarf laughed as he spoke, then leaped again, swinging his whip.

This dwarf has already reached the Micro Realm, and the Python Whip in his hand is wielded with great mastery.

The shadow of the whip flickered like a living creature in front of Shen Mizi, who barely managed to resist, but her Dantian was already depleted. Her grip suddenly weakened, and the sword in her hand was flicked away with a snap by the tail of the Python Whip wielded by the dwarf.

As Shen Mizi’s sword slipped from her hand, the dwarf let out a strange laugh, and the Python Whip in his hand twirled around Shen Mizi’s neck. With a strong pull, he dragged her to the ground, forcibly bringing her beside him.

Seeing Shen Mizi dragged over, the dwarf’s eyes flickered with fiery desire, and he said, ”Little beauty, do you know why I’ve been wasting time with you? It’s to exhaust your Inner Breath. When you’re out of strength, I’ll play with you properly.”

Saying this, the dwarf shook his hand, and the long whip around Shen Mizi’s neck loosened abruptly. Seeing the whip loosen, Shen Mizi immediately tried to jump up and escape, but in the next moment, she was pinned down by the dwarf, her hands pulled back.

With a swirl of the long whip, the dwarf tied Shen Mizi’s hands securely. Shen Mizi’s Inner Breath was completely depleted, leaving her unable to struggle.

The dwarf suddenly grabbed the long whip, leaped up, and jumped onto the branch of a nearby big tree, hanging Shen Mizi underneath it.

Shen Mizi was hung there, her feet just half a yard above the ground, struggling incessantly.

The dwarf tightened the Python Whip on the tree branch, then jumped down. He looked at Shen Mizi, her hands firmly tied and hanging from the branch, laughing lewdly.

The dwarf leapt up again, wrapped his arms around Shen Mizi’s waist, hanging on her.

The dwarf’s eyes were directly facing Shen Mizi’s navel. He reached out and tugged at Shen Mizi’s pants. Shen Mizi kicked wildly, struggling with all her might...

The dwarf laughed and said, ”Little beauty, the more you struggle, the more excited I get...”

This dwarf had been born into poverty, physically disabled, and suffered great humiliation.

Later, he joined the Filthy Blood Sect, and by chance, made contributions and was rewarded, being assigned to follow Ge Qingchuan.

The dwarf’s early life wounds twisted his mind, and he preferred to humiliate young ladies from wealthy families. However, in recent years, the Filthy Blood Sect has preferred to operate covertly, reducing incidents of pillaging wealthy families in the city.

Thus, the dwarf’s twisted desires had been suppressed for several years.

Like a volcano suppressed for many years, he intended to vent all his desire on Shen Mizi today.

But just as he pulled down Shen Mizi’s outer pants, whilst lowering his head to bite at her navel and tearing at her undergarments, a massive shadow suddenly descended, grabbing the dwarf’s head.

The dwarf hadn’t even reacted when his head was crushed by Ah Mo in mid-air, brain and blood splattering all over Shen Mizi’s pants.

Ah Mo, her hands covered in blood, landed gracefully and looked at Shen Mizi hanging there, saying, ”Have you seen my lady?”

Shen Mizi was on the verge of humiliation and death but was suddenly saved, overwhelming her with joy, her tears streaming uncontrollably, unable to speak for a moment.

Ah Mo coldly said, ”I asked you a question! Have you seen my lady?”

Shen Mizi answered, ”No, I haven’t.”

Hearing this, Ah Mo sighed, then leaped away, disappearing from Shen Mizi’s sight.

Shen Mizi hung there, slightly stunned, and immediately shouted, ”Let me down! Don’t leave!”

But Ah Mo paid her no mind, already darting into the dense forest and vanishing.

Shen Mizi shouted a few times, then a mountain breeze suddenly blew, chilling her navel.

She knew Ah Mo was already far gone, and full of grievance, she bitterly cried out, ”Why are you like this?! Let me down before you leave...”

Shen Mizi looked around the dense forest, then abruptly shut her mouth, fearing other members of the Filthy Blood Sect might hear her and come over.

Wouldn’t she just be jumping from the wolf’s den into the tiger’s mouth?

Shen Mizi hung there, her Inner Breath depleted, unable to escape the Python Whip binding her, and dared not call for help, left there in the wilderness and forest, as the mountain wind brushed past...

Her tears had dried up, her lips bitten to bleeding, murmuring to herself, ”Ah Mo, one day I will kill you!”

She only remembered Ah Mo leaving her in this wild forest, not remembering it was Ah Mo who saved her. Were it not for Ah Mo, she would have already been defiled and killed by that dwarf.

Shen Mizi lost her mother in childhood, making her sensitive to and most resentful of the feeling of being abandoned.

This was a thorn embedded in her heart from her youth. Today, in this wild mountain forest, Ah Mo stirred deeply that embedded thorn.

The feeling was something only she could understand.
