Chapter 691, No Sense of Righteousness

Certainly, Pang Wanhai was displeased with Xiong Tieshan’s arrangements previously.

He had been cultivating the Way of Blades all his life, so his biggest dream was to contend with an equally powerful cultivator, especially one who was also well-versed in the Way of Blades. This kind of life-and-death battle could help improve his mastery.

In the entire Feng Zhou, there was no doubt Ye Ying was the best person.

When they were planning on ambushing Ye Ying a while back, Pang Wanhai offered to lead the team, but Xiong Tieshan turned him down.

He knew why Xiong Tieshan made such a decision. The latter was worried that he would gain something out of the battle against Ye Ying. Moreover, Xiong Tieshan believed that the manual of the Tyrant Blade Technique must be with Ye Ying. Pang Wanhai was interested in Tyrant Blade Technique, and it was the same case for Xiong Tieshan.

Whoever could kill Ye Ying would have a chance to obtain the manual.

Xiong Tieshan was the Sect Master while Pang Wanhai was the Deputy Sect Master. Since the Sect Master had given an order, Pang Wanhai had no choice but to oblige despite his displeasure.

It turned out that the manual wasn’t with Ye Ying. Instead, it was kept in Tyrant Blade Manor, and it had fallen into Pang Wanhai’s hands.

That was the reason he had been staying in the manor for the past few days instead of returning to the Divine Will Sect. If he returned, the manual would be snatched from him.

He wanted to comprehend the blade technique for a few days more.

There was no doubt that he was lucky to have obtained the manual, but it was a shame that he didn’t get to fight Ye Ying.

Much to his surprise, Ye Ying wasn’t the only powerful cultivator of Tyrant Blade Manor. His sixth Son was formidable too.

For this reason, Pang Wanhai was elated.

Seeing that Ye Xiong had been defeated, he pointed at Lu Ye with his saber and said smugly, “Brat, if you can take three moves from me, I’ll spare your life!”

He had witnessed how formidable Lu Ye was, so he knew he couldn’t destroy the other party with only three moves. However, Lu Ye was injured during the battle earlier, so he might only be able to use a fraction of his power. That was what gave Pang Wanhai the confidence.

Moreover, it wouldn’t matter even if Lu Ye wasn’t killed after three moves. He would be considered naive if he even believed what his opponent had said.

If Lu Ye easily believed the other party’s empty promise, he wouldn’t pose any serious threat to them.

Before Pang Wanhai even made a move, he managed to intimate the other party.

The moment he finished speaking, he charged forward and activated his Spiritual Power, displaying his cultivation as a Ninth-Order Cloud River Realm Master.

All of a sudden, Lu Ye started moving backwards. A small flag appeared in his hand as he waved it.

[What’s that?] Pang Wanhai felt his chest tightening. In an instant, he realised something was off. Even though he wanted to retreat, it was too late.

A layer of light screen appeared out of nowhere, covering him like a transparent dome.

“It’s a ward!” Pang Wanhai growled.

[I didn’t know Ye Six could build wards. Moreover, he’s apparently well-prepared. Damn it!]

Lu Ye didn’t waste any time while waiting for Ye Xiong’s arrival earlier. Although he was fairly powerful, he wouldn’t underestimate his opponents.

While waiting, he built many wards in the courtyard.

Ye Xiong and Pang Wanhai, both of them Combat Cultivators, knew nothing about the Way of Wards. Therefore, they were oblivious to the anomaly around them.

Lu Ye didn’t activate any ward when fighting Ye Xiong because the latter wasn’t a serious threat to him.

Now, it was the best chance to use the wards to deal with Pang Wanhai.

Although he wanted to contend with a Ninth-Order Master to find out how powerful he truly was, it was obviously not the best time to do so. Using wards to deal with him would be his best option.

Pang Wanhai reacted swiftly. The moment he realised something was off, he immediately tried to flee. However, since the Trap Ward had been formed, he couldn’t directly leave the ward’s coverage even though he was a Ninth-Order Master. He crashed into the light screen and formed some ripples.

The next moment, Lu Ye brought down the flag.

Following that, many Killing Wards exploded within the light screen.

At that instant, bolts of lightning wandered around the area like snakes, golden arcs slashed across the place, and fire columns shot forward. Spiritual Power was in a mess within the area, and the noise was deafening.

After the last round of explosion, a fire light shot into the sky.

Before his trip to Hundred Wards Tower, Lu Ye wasn’t able to build such a compound ward. At the very least, he couldn’t integrate so many wards within a small area. However, his mastery had improved tremendously after his trip to the tower, so it was no longer difficult for him to do so.

The huge impact shattered the light screen of the Ward Trap.

A figure emerged amidst the flames as he tried to flee without hesitation.

The person was none other than Pang Wanhai. Even though he had been hurt by so many explosions within the small area, he wasn’t dead yet.

Nevertheless, compared to how smug he was earlier, he now looked battered.

Most of his clothes were burned, and his face was charred. His entire figure was covered with wounds as blood streamed out of them. Although he was a Ninth-Order Master, his aura was extremely weak.

Despite not getting killed, he was horribly injured.

The only thought in his mind was that Lu Ye had no sense of righteousness. Both of them were Combat Cultivators, so they were supposed to get into close combat instead of using wards. That wasn’t how Combat Cultivators were supposed to fight.

Combat Cultivators were usually obstinate and fearless, so most of them wouldn’t use wards.

Also, Pang Wanhai had never heard that Lu Ye was well-versed in the Way of Wards.

He reckoned that he had to run away as quickly as possible, for he wasn’t in the best condition to fight.

Even though he was badly injured, he was resentful, not fearful. Given his speed, there was no way a Sixth-Order Master could catch up to him. As long as he could get out of the woods, he would get his revenge one day.

While he was in his thoughts, he felt cold all over his body. He could detect a ferocious aura rapidly approaching him.

When he turned his head to look, his pupils dilated.

[How is it possible that Ye Six can move so fast? Also, why does he have a pair of red wings?]

Before he could figure out what was going on, he saw a Saber Light reaching for him. He had no choice but to grit his teeth and turn around to fend off the attack.

Following a violent clash, Lu Ye became slightly sluggish while Pang Wanhai fell downward like a meteorite.

Lu Ye flapped his wings and ran after him as he was determined to kill the other party.

A moment later, Lu Ye stepped away from some debris and swung his Inviolable Saber before putting it back into the sheath.

Behind him, Pang Wanhai was kneeling on the floor. His gaze was filled with shock and disbelief, but all his aura had dissipated.

He hadn’t expected to be killed in such a place.

Just a while ago, he was still engrossed in comprehending Tyrant Blade Technique.

The young girl, who bore some resemblance to Ye Liuli, was still inside the Defensive Ward in the courtyard. Despite her pale face, her gaze was bright.

With the Defensive Ward around, the repercussions of the fights didn’t hurt her. Even though the building had collapsed, she was protected by the ward’s light screen.

She had never cultivated before, so she didn’t know how dangerous the fights were. However, she could see that Ye Xiong was in a horrible state while lying on the floor. On the other hand, the smug Pang Wanhai became battered and had no choice but to flee. She wasn’t certain if he was dead or alive, though.

Realising that Lu Ye was so powerful, she was excited deep within.

The dark clouds in the sky dissipated as the Moonlight shone on everything. The young girl felt hopeful, knowing that no one would oppress her again.

The battles ended just as quickly as they had started.

The battle between Lu Ye and Ye Xiong lasted for around 20 breaths of time, and it took Lu Ye roughly the same time to kill Pang Wanhai.

Therefore, it wasn’t until this moment that the cultivators in the manor arrived upon hearing the noise.

Many cultivators soon gathered in this place. They could see Pang Wanhai’s corpse kneeling on the floor. On the other hand, Ye Xiong’s energy and soul seemed to have been sucked out of him as he lay on the floor. He seemed to have grown significantly older all of a sudden.

There was also someone who wasn’t supposed to be in this place.

“Sixth Young Master…” someone muttered.

These cultivators could be considered the disciples in Tyrant Blade Manor.

Although Tyrant Blade Manor was a familial great force, those from the Ye Family couldn’t possibly run such a big business on their own. Therefore, Ye Ying and Ye Xiong had taken on many disciples over the years.

When the manor was attacked previously, many people were killed. Some of them managed to flee or survive.

Those who stayed in the manor were mostly loyal to Ye Xiong.

Although they were cultivators, only a small number of them were Cloud River Realm Masters. Also, they were generally weak.

When these disciples registered Lu Ye’s presence, they sported conflicted expressions. They also saw Ye Xiong lying on the floor.

When the manor was attacked, many of them had no idea what was going on. It wasn’t until the dust settled that they realised what had happened.

Regardless, it wasn’t a glorious fact that Ye Xiong partnered up with outsiders to destroy his own great force. These disciples had been internally struggling for the past few days, thinking that their future was bleak.

The incident earlier also made them feel lost.

“Kill him…” a weak voice sounded all of a sudden. It was Ye Xiong, who was motionless on the ground. “Kill him!”

After he fully activated his power to use Tyrant Blade Technique, he became on his last legs. He initially hoped that Pang Wanhai would get revenge for him, but the latter was dead as well. If he wanted to survive, he had to rely on these disciples.

Although they were all weak, they would stand a chance to defeat Lu Ye if they joined forces.

However, no one made a move.

Besides the fact that they were shocked by Pang Wanhai’s death, they couldn’t possibly deal with Lu Ye, who was the Sixth Young Master of the Ye Family.

A moment later, a disciple cupped his fists and said, “Farewell, Sixth Young Master.”

Upon finishing his words, he turned around and left.

There was no way he would make a move on Lu Ye, but it also wasn’t appropriate for him to stay. After giving it some thought, he decided to leave.

After such a tragedy, Tyrant Blade Manor was a thing of the past. No one knew if Lu Ye would be able to rebuild it.

Since someone had taken the initiative to leave, more people followed suit.

When the hesitant disciples saw that Lu Ye didn’t have the intention of stopping them, they knew that they wouldn’t be treated fairly even if they stayed. Therefore, they left the place as well.

Soon, all the cultivators were gone.

Only Ye Xiong’s helpless and furious growl reverberated across the place.
