His Beloved Treasure

”If you can’t cook, you can’t cook; no one is complaining about it.”

Feng Fanghua was worried that Qin Haiming might misunderstand that Qin Mu was being mistreated in her in-laws’ home because of this, so she quickly muttered in response.

”I suppose she takes after me. I’ve been to the kitchen many times before, but I could never make a good meal.”

Qin Haiming said with an embarrassed smile.

Listening to him, Qin Mu couldn’t help but remember the past, wondering which mother was making excuses for her daughter. She used to feel so sad because no one would speak up for her with the in-laws, but now...

”I’m going to wash my hands!”

Qin Mu turned and slipped away.

The elders had their own thoughts after watching her leave.

”This girl is actually very attentive and detail-oriented, just a bit good at pretending.”

Mu Zihao commented on Qin Mu.

”It’s all my fault.”

Qin Haiming simply replied humbly, admitting that as a father, he indeed didn’t discipline her.

Later, Qin Mu left with Feng Fanghua and the others, and Uncle Wang had dinner with him in the ward.

Originally, Mu Yichen also ordered nutritious meals for him through AM, but Qin Mu personally brought a soup over, and the appetite of the two brothers grew.

”Who would have thought this car accident could improve your relationship with your daughter? Wouldn’t you say this is a blessing in disguise?”

”So stop blaming yourself! I should be thanking you, actually!”

Qin Haiming said while sipping the soup his daughter brought.

”But still...”

”Sigh, we’re not talking about this anymore. I’m also taking this time to rest well in the hospital while I’m injured, consider it a vacation for myself. But to think this girl can’t cook, her mother could make such delicious dishes back in the day.”

The past is like a fleeting cloud, but it’s all true.

”Didn’t you say it yourself? The young miss has totally spoiled you.”

”She really does take after me quite a bit, but still, the fact that she can call me ’dad’ makes it all worth it, even if I die.”

Qin Haiming thought about it and couldn’t help but chuckle again.

Uncle Wang sat beside him, sipping his soup, and couldn’t help but chuckle along when he saw him laughing.

”Hasn’t Mu Yichen been getting along well with Mumu lately? No quarrels, right?”

Qin Haiming had another bowl of soup and asked casually.

”They should be good. That afternoon when the accident happened, I didn’t call the young master at first, but when he arrived later, he was comforting the young miss all the time. For those three nights, he stayed with the young miss outside the ICU, not going back unless she did.”

Hearing that the couple spent the nights outside the ICU made Qin Haiming laugh, almost to the point of tears.

It wasn’t just being touched.

It was the feeling of being cherished that felt so unreal.

Before, Zhang Rujia took care of him, but always did so by watching his face.

But Qin Mu stayed with him simply because she wanted to take care of him.

The feeling was different.

He didn’t want to be seen as someone on a pedestal; a husband is a husband, a father is a father.

While the two were chatting, Mu Yichen came to visit after work. Seeing them eating, he greeted, ”How are you feeling today?”

Not wanting to make small talk with Uncle Wang, so Uncle Wang just sat there without moving.

”Much better. Don’t bother coming if you’re busy; your parents brought Huanhuan and Chengcheng over, and Mumu even went to the restaurant to bring over a soup.”

Qin Haiming said and realized how many people cared about him, feeling a warmth in his heart.

”Just passing by after work.”

Mu Yichen wasn’t one for formalities, a pretext that seemed never to go out of style, so he just kept using it.

”Hmm!”

Qin Haiming didn’t expose him, thinking it was good to have visitors now, as these two are rarely seen on regular days.

When Mu Yichen got home, the dining table was already set, but Qin Mu was washing her hands in the restroom. Upon hearing this from the maid, he quickened his pace deliberately towards the bathroom, fearing she might come out.

And indeed, he caught her at the door, walked in, closed the door, and then with a sincere smile hugged her small waist tightly against his abdomen.

”What’s the matter? Forgot about last time when mom knocked on the door?”

”I just wanted to kiss you, and the door isn’t even locked.”

He whispered and then tilted her chin up to kiss her.

At his sudden kiss, Qin Mu held her breath nervously, not daring to move.

”I went to see your father. He finished all the soup you sent.”

Mu Yichen whispered.

”So much?”

Qin Mu exclaimed with wide eyes in surprise.

”He and Uncle Wang drank it together.”

”That’s still quite a lot.”
