Chapter 788: Chapter 785: Lin Bingxuan’s Dilemma

”Now, as long as you absorb the energy, you can stabilize the gene collapse, and your power will also recover!” Ghost Face said with a flushed face, unable to hide the sense of achievement on his face.

In fact, this was the result of Ghost Face doing his homework thoroughly. If he hadn’t studied it thoroughly before, even if he had obtained the Megrez Stone, he might not have been able to solve it so quickly.

However, at this moment, Xiao Tian’s focus was on the Megrez Stone beside the Five Elements Crystal. Is this thing really as magical as the legends say?

Moreover, when thinking calmly, the little girl indeed didn’t seem to be lying. At least the practical use of the Megrez Stone had never been mentioned in the entries.

Looking at the Megrez Stone in front of him, Xiao Tian couldn’t help but wonder, what level is this Megrez Stone?

Before he could think deeper, Ghost Face began to urge, ”First, absorb the energy of the Five Elements Crystal to stop the gene collapse in your body. The sooner it’s solved, the more at ease we can be!”

”Mr. Ghost Face is right, better absorb the energy of the Five Elements Crystal quickly!” Lin Bingxuan agreed.

However, these words fell into Ghost Face’s ears with a different taste, making him hesitate whether to inform Lin Bingxuan about Xiao Tian losing part of his memory.

With both urging, Xiao Tian had no choice but to temporarily set aside the matter of the Megrez Stone and place his hand on the Five Elements Crystal.

As soon as Xiao Tian’s hand touched the Five Elements Crystal, the crystal energy at the tip surged instantly. Seizing this moment, he unhesitatingly drew the energy into his body.

With a loud bang, as the Five Elements Crystal energy entered the body, the sealed Dantian responded immediately, as if understanding it could soon regain its freedom.

Energy flowed through Xiao Tian’s meridians, ultimately converging in the Dantian under his guidance, bit by bit eroding the invisible and intangible seal.

Before long, the dormant Dantian began to operate slowly, then speed increased, with more and more True Qi being drawn from it and spreading throughout his body.

Simultaneously, Xiao Tian’s strength underwent earth-shattering changes, so fast it was like riding a rocket!

However, this was merely a restorative enhancement, not a breakthrough. Despite the recovery, it was still far from his peak.

Finally, when less than two-thirds of the peak was restored, the speed of strength enhancement abruptly stopped, quick to come and quick to go, like a dream.

Opening his eyes, Xiao Tian clenched his fists full of power, then thanked Ghost Face earnestly.

But Ghost Face didn’t appear relieved, instead saying, ”Later, we’ll need to re-collect your blood sample. Once your gene collapse is confirmed stopped, you’ll truly be safe.”

After collecting the blood, Ghost Face asked the two, ”Who will stay to assist me?”

Just as Xiao Tian was about to speak, Lin Bingxuan stepped forward first and said, ”You’ve just restored your strength, let me stay behind!”

Seeing Lin Bingxuan’s slightly worried gaze, Xiao Tian had to agree and walked out of the underground laboratory.

...

After Xiao Tian left, Ghost Face placed Xiao Tian’s blood on an instrument and began a series of operations, leaving Lin Bingxuan dazzled.

After a while, watching Ghost Face wipe the sweat from his forehead, Lin Bingxuan couldn’t help but ask, ”Didn’t you say I’d be assisting you?”

Ghost Face removed the white gloves and sighed, ”There is something I need to tell you.”

Lin Bingxuan’s heart tensed immediately, knowing that what Ghost Face was about to say was probably not good news. Still, she tried to control her emotions, taking a deep breath, and said, ”Please, go ahead.”

”You should know a woman named Liu Hanyan, right?” Ghost Face asked tentatively.

Liu Hanyan, as soon as the name entered Lin Bingxuan’s ears, her heart skipped a beat. In a way, if not for Liu Hanyan, she and Xiao Tian wouldn’t have come together.

Although Xiao Tian had clearly told Lin Bingxuan that she was not a substitute for Liu Hanyan in his heart, it was hard for Lin Bingxuan not to overthink a little.

It’s not a lack of trust in their relationship, but Liu Hanyan had always existed as Xiao Tian’s emotional knot. If something happened to her, it would definitely trigger a chain reaction.

”I know!” Lin Bingxuan nodded to confirm, waiting for Ghost Face to continue.

”Since you know, that makes it easier to explain.”

Ghost Face said, ”Remember the consequences I mentioned about gene collapse?”

”You aren’t going to say that Xiao Tian has forgotten his memories of Liu Hanyan, are you?” Lin Bingxuan instantly realized what Ghost Face was hinting at and asked in response.

”As it turns out now, that is indeed the case!” Ghost Face confirmed Lin Bingxuan’s guess and continued, ”I can’t say no one can help him recover lost memories, but I don’t have a good solution.”

”I just want to tell you that even if we can verbally piece together those memories for him, it’s vastly different than truly remembering.” Ghost Face added, ”So, the choice is yours now!”

Admittedly, Ghost Face’s words indeed plunged Lin Bingxuan into a dilemma.

Whether to tell Xiao Tian or not, it seemed like either choice had its reasons, and it couldn’t simply be weighed as more beneficial or detrimental.

After a long silence, Lin Bingxuan said in a deep voice, ”Thank you for telling me this!”

Ghost Face waved his hand and said, ”It’s something you should know. I’ll try my best to help him, but until I think of a way, whether you tell him or not is up to you!”

Having said that, Ghost Face turned to check the results, leaving Lin Bingxuan alone, lost in thought.

From the current situation, Xiao Tian should not have forgotten Ghost Face’s previous warning, so accepting that he has lost a piece of memory isn’t very difficult.

The only problem is that no one can draw a vivid picture of Liu Hanyan out of thin air just by verbal description.

No matter how others paint the picture, without Xiao Tian recalling the past, any depiction seems very pale!

It’s like after blackout drinking and the next day friends tell you what you did later, but you can’t remember a thing.

Even if you accept and confirm what friends tell you is true, having that blank memory that can’t be recalled will make you uncomfortable for quite a while, even questioning life.

On another front, even if Lin Bingxuan wants to fill Xiao Tian’s memory, she finds herself at a loss on how to start.

She only knows Liu Hanyan existed as Xiao Tian’s emotional knot, but can’t recount what they went through together. She can’t just make it up, can she?!

The influx of various issues gave Lin Bingxuan a headache.
