Fate-Defying Demon Emperor

Chapter 71: Chapter 71: The Fierce Battle with the Queen

The heavy rain poured down as lightning flashed and thunder roared; the heavens were unkind.

But such foul weather could not alter the intensity of the battle.

At this moment, Su Han’s gaze met the Empress’s in midair, overflowing with killing intent.

The figure before him was once the warmest presence in Su Han’s heart. He had treated the Empress like his own mother. To repay her perceived kindness, he joined the Sky Blue Army as a young man, waging campaigns far and wide and fully supporting the Great Crown Prince. He had thought all his efforts would surely earn the Empress’s praise, and that was all he ever wanted.

He never expected that from the very beginning, the Empress had been scheming against him. First, she sent someone to murder his birth mother. Then, she spent a decade manipulating him step by step, before finally digging out his Dragon Soul with her own hands.

Su Han clenched his fists, staring intently at the Empress as his heart bled. He had always wanted revenge, but what he truly sought was not the return of his lost Dragon Soul, but justice from her. Recognizing a villain as his mother was the greatest tragedy of his life, a fall from a warm heaven into the icy depths of hell. All of it felt like a sharp knife stabbing his heart, making it bleed and ache relentlessly. But today, it would all come to an end.

Su Han exhaled his pent-up grief and indignation, gripping his Black Blade tightly. Demonic Qi surged from his body, and his gaze on the Empress turned as cold as ice.

The Empress was also looking at Su Han. In her beautiful phoenix eyes, however, there was no emotion other than the intent to kill.

”You lowly wretch, I admit I regret it!” the Empress said, her red lips parting to release the chilling words. ”Had I known you’d be so troublesome, I would have killed you with a single palm strike when I took your Dragon Soul. A momentary lapse in judgment has led to today’s disaster.”

”You ruined Tian’er and destroyed the Qin Family. These were all my mistakes. But today, I will not give you another chance!”

The Empress reached out, and a crimson, fire-like Bone Whip appeared in her grasp. The ferocious Bone Whip was crafted from the spine of a Crimson Flame Demon Serpent. It was not only powerful but also exuded a dense Demon Qi.

SIZZLE!

The Bone Whip was incredibly hot, like a searing brand. Flames leaped from its surface, instantly turning the falling rain to steam on contact, creating a terrifying spectacle.

”You venomous witch! You murdered my mother, stole my Dragon Soul, and deceived Fairy Sister Yun Xian! Today, I will make you pay for everything!”

Gripping his Black Blade, Su Han stomped hard on the ground. He shot toward the Empress like an arrow loosed from a bowstring. The curtain of rain instantly broke before him, as if a great sheet of fabric had been torn apart.

”You lowly wretch, today I will offer your head to my brother’s spirit in the heavens!”

The Empress’s body surged with Spiritual Energy, her killing intent a tidal wave. Even though Qin Xiong of the Phenomenon Realm had died by his hand, and even though ten Shadow Guards and the Guard Army Commander had just been slain by his blade, the Empress felt no trepidation whatsoever. She was confident in her own strength. Besides, Su Han had just fought a strenuous battle and expended a great deal of energy; he was no longer at his peak.

”Mysterious Rank High Level Martial Technique: Phantom Heavenly Claw!”

The Empress raised her left hand, drawing upon the spiritual energy of heaven and earth to condense an indistinct, three-hundred-meter giant claw that descended upon Su Han. This giant claw was not only sharp and powerful, but it also carried a terrifying Spiritual Attack capable of trapping a target in an illusion before delivering the fatal blow.

During the Autumn Examinations, Su Han had been unable to withstand this claw, but things were completely different now.

”Cannon Fist!”

He clenched his left fist. Golden Qi-Blood surged as the four pieces of Great Luo Golden Bone shone brightly, unleashing a mysterious might that was further amplified by the Combat Character Secret.

A single punch shook the heavens!

BOOM!

The Golden Fist Blaze shot toward the sky, smashing into the Phantom Heavenly Claw. The two mighty forces collided, instantly evaporating the surrounding rainwater and blasting a huge hole through the downpour. A golden light, as brilliant as the sun, illuminated the dim world. It was a sight that all the citizens of the Imperial Capital could see just by looking up.

The clash ended with both the Golden Fist Blaze and the Phantom Heavenly Claw collapsing, the resulting explosion blasting outward in all directions.

”You lowly wretch!”

The Empress gritted her teeth, the killing intent in her eyes growing even stronger. Su Han’s growth rate is too fast! During the Autumn Examinations, my Phantom Heavenly Claw could have easily crippled him, but now he can actually fight me head-on. If I don’t kill him, I’ll never know a moment’s peace!

”Mysterious Rank High Level Martial Technique: Nine Whips of Heaven’s Severance!”

She poured Spiritual Energy into the Bone Whip. Its crimson light flared, and its dense Demon Qi became terrifying. Now drawing upon the spiritual energy of heaven and earth, she lashed it fiercely toward Su Han. The hundred-meter-long whip drew a deadly arc through the air, striking at him with searing heat and a corrupting Demon Qi. Above the whip, the illusory phantom of a Crimson Flame Demon Serpent roared at the sky, its ferocious might startling. This Bone Whip was a Supreme Grade Magic Artifact, containing immense power on its own. Now, driven by the Empress’s full strength, it was as if the Demon Serpent had been reborn, ready to devour its prey.

”Nine Slashes as One: Decisive Slash!”

Facing the Empress’s attack, Su Han showed not a hint of fear. He gripped his Black Blade as black Demonic Qi coiled around it. He slashed nine times in quick succession, condensing the attacks into a hundred-meter-long, pitch-black blade of light. This blade of light soared toward the sky, as swift and sharp as an executioner’s strike.

CLANG!

The Bone Whip collided with the Black Blade, erupting in a deafening clang of metal. The terrible sound waves shattered the surrounding raindrops and even seemed to distort the air itself. A violent shockwave from the impact swept out, shattering the stone slabs on the ground. The surrounding Guard Army soldiers were sent flying, vomiting blood and suffering severe injuries. The battle between Su Han and the Empress was now far beyond what ordinary people could interfere in.

”Kill!”

Su Han was knocked back over ten meters but quickly regained his footing. He immediately executed the Character Technique of Motion and charged back toward the Empress.

”Die!”

The Empress’s face was frosty, her phoenix eyes filled with murderous intent. Clutching her Bone Whip, her aura exploded as she abandoned all pretense of regal dignity and soared into the sky to meet his charge.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

In less than a minute, Su Han and the Empress exchanged over a hundred blows. The frenzied pace of their battle was enough to leave any onlooker breathless. The shockwaves they generated completely destroyed the ground within a three-hundred-meter radius, forcing the Guard Army soldiers to retreat hastily, not daring to be caught in the aftermath.

The Empress was at the Ninth Layer of the Heavenly Human Realm. Her cultivation techniques, martial techniques, weapons, and armor were all of an extremely high grade, granting her terrifying combat power.

But Su Han was no less formidable. Wearing the Ghostly Face Mask boosted his realm to the Fifth Layer of the Heavenly Human Realm. This power, coupled with his Sacred Body, the Great Luo Golden Bone, the Black Blade, and his mastery of numerous secret techniques, made him equally fierce and indomitable.

The two were evenly matched, and it was impossible to determine a victor. But a stalemate was clearly not what either of them wanted. Soon, the Empress decided it was time to unleash a killing blow.

”Earth Rank Low Level Martial Technique: Wildfire Scorches the Plains!”
