Fate-Defying Demon Emperor

Chapter 68: Chapter 68: Though There Are Thousands of People, I Shall Go Too

BOOM!

As Su Han spoke, thunder suddenly roared between heaven and earth, as if drumming in support of this decisive battle.

The gazes of Su Han and the Empress collided in midair. In an instant, two entirely different yet equally icy and intense killing intents surged between them. Once, they had been as close as mother and son. Now, they were locked in a fight to the death.

”Kill him!”

The Empress’s face was stern. At her command, the ten-thousand-strong Guard Army moved to kill Su Han at once. Although the Empress wished she could flay Su Han alive, she also harbored a deep wariness toward him.

During the autumn examinations, he demonstrated astonishing strength, overpowering even the Great Crown Prince, who had broken through to the Heavenly Human Realm, and nearly killing him. This time, even Qin Xiong of the Phenomenon Realm has fallen by his hand. I am only at the Ninth Layer of the Heavenly Human Realm, somewhat weaker than Qin Xiong. I don’t know how he did it, but it must have been an extraordinary feat.

She only wanted to draw Su Han out, not engage in a life-or-death battle herself. Thus, she planned to first use the Guard Army to probe his true capabilities.

THUD!

The well-trained Guard Army soldiers moved in unison. With each step, the ground trembled slightly. Though these soldiers were individually average in strength, when assembled as an army, they were invincible and unstoppable.

”Fire!” shouted the Guard Army Commander in charge of the battle. At his command, a thousand crossbowmen stood ready.

SWOOSH! SWOOSH! SWOOSH!

Cold iron arrows pierced the rain, forming a torrential downpour that descended upon Su Han. A single volley consisted of a thousand sharp arrows—an attack no ordinary person could withstand.

Character Technique of Motion!

Su Han felt no fear and did not shrink back. He executed the Character Technique of Motion, his speed increasing tenfold, and charged out of the volley’s range before the arrows could even fall.

”Mountain Character Formation!”

Seeing that the crossbowmen posed no threat, the Guard Army Commander ordered again. Instantly, armored infantry wielding long spears formed a triangular Mountain Character Formation and charged toward Su Han. The soldiers were well-trained, moving as one with overwhelming momentum and intense battle spirit.

But Su Han had fought on countless battlefields and knew military tactics better than anyone. He did not retreat. Instead, he gripped his Black Blade and faced the Guard Army head-on.

”Kill!”

The deafening roar echoed as the seven-thousand-man infantry formation raised their spears in unison and charged. Though their enemy was just one man, they did not take him lightly. Their surging battle spirit tore through the veil of rain.

”Slash!”

Gripping the Black Blade, Su Han infused it with Demonic Qi and unleashed a vicious strike. The dark blade light, like a black thunderbolt, carried a deadly aura as it cut into the crowd. With Su Han’s current strength at the Second Layer of the Heavenly Human Realm, this slash was incredibly sharp. It instantly severed seven or eight long spears and sliced just as many soldiers in half at the waist.

Their blood and souls were instantly absorbed by the Black Blade. These two abilities were intrinsic to the weapon, making it perfectly suited for group battles. The more people it killed, the more blood and souls it absorbed, and the stronger the Black Blade became.

Nevertheless, these Guard Army soldiers were truly well-trained. Even as their comrades died before their eyes, the remaining men showed no fear or hesitation, continuing to thrust with their spears as they pressed the attack on Su Han.

The Guard Army was immense, with its ten thousand soldiers forming a sea of people that completely enveloped Su Han, trapping him like a turtle in a jar.

But Su Han showed not the slightest hint of fear. Using the Character Technique of Motion, he moved like a wraith, faster than lightning. No one could touch him, and with each swing of his Black Blade, he reaped a swath of lives. Blood, corpses, and severed limbs wove a blood-soaked tapestry.

BOOM!

The roar of thunder and the pouring rain added a somber tone to this decisive battle.

The Empress maintained her dignified appearance, her gaze fixed on Su Han. Seeing that he had reached the Second Layer of the Heavenly Human Realm filled her with immense shock.

To think that during the autumn examinations, he was merely at the Sixth Layer of the Divine Sea Realm! In just half a month, he broke through to the Heavenly Human Realm. Such a cultivation speed is nothing short of monstrous. The more monstrous his talent, the stronger my desire to kill him becomes. If I don’t kill him today, I will surely face his vengeance in the future. He must be slain here today!

The Empress’s jade-like hand clenched tightly, her killing intent unwavering.

”Cavalry, outflank him and compress his operational range!” the Guard Army Commander ordered. His combat experience was extensive, and desperate to redeem himself for past failures, he was using every trick at his disposal.

A force of two thousand light cavalry charged out. They moved with extreme speed, forming a vast encirclement that rapidly compressed inward, aiming to restrict Su Han’s vexingly fast movements.

Seven thousand infantry, two thousand cavalry, and one thousand crossbowmen—a ten-thousand-strong Guard Army in total. Such a force was large enough to wage a major war. It seemed like overkill to deal with a single Su Han, but they would soon learn that not even an army of thousands could stop Su Han’s murderous resolve.

SLICE!

With a single slash, Su Han sent a soldier’s head flying. His figure flickered, and he used the Character Technique of Motion to dodge before the other soldiers’ attacks could even land.

Although Su Han was just one person, the ten-thousand-strong Guard Army couldn’t catch him, let alone wound him. His speed was simply too great, and with the Black Blade in hand, his lethality was astonishing. Everywhere he went, he left a trail of carnage.

Viewed from high above, Su Han was like a black arrow piercing deep into the Guard Army, as if he intended to bore straight through the ten-thousand-man formation.

Though a million foes stand in my way, I will cut a path forward!

Su Han’s desire to kill the Empress far exceeded anyone’s imagination. At this moment, even if he faced a mountain of blades, a sea of fire, or a bottomless abyss, he would not hesitate to grip his blade and charge.

One by one, soldiers fell, their corpses littering the ground. The rain washed over the blood, staining the earth crimson until it looked as though a river of blood was flowing.

At this moment, Su Han was like an invincible war general from a hundred battles, utterly unstoppable. With a general of this caliber facing an army of thousands, victory was as easy as reaching into one’s own pocket.

”Draw Sword Slash!”

A hundred-meter-long dark blade light materialized in the rain. Su Han held the Black Blade, its cold light flashing as he brought it down with ferocious power.

SLICE! SLICE! SLICE!

The hundred-meter blade light was like a strike from a giant deity’s sword. How could mere mortals block it? The blade light instantly slashed into the crowd. Wherever it passed, swaths of soldiers fell, their bodies turning into cold corpses.

With that one slash, he had slaughtered hundreds of soldiers, carving a gruesome trail of blood through the crowd.

Now, Su Han strode along this trail of blood, heading straight for the Empress. His gaze had never left her, and he advanced along a perfectly straight line.

Today, I will unleash a massacre!
