Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress

Chapter 331: Three-Fold Transformation

Liora quickly regained her consciousness and returned to reality.

The moment she exited the illusory battlefield, she found herself in a large hall supported by temple-like columns.

Unlike the rooms she had visited so far, the hall was relatively intact.

No traces of battle could be seen, while neither fragmented weapons nor corpses littered the floor.

Only a giant throne could be seen at the center of the hall, and a colossal figure was silently sitting on it.

It was a young man. He wore an impressive golden armor and held a blood-covered sword in his right hand, whose tip was embedded in the floor below him.

His body was intact, and he didn’t have any apparent injuries, while his eyes were open and staring in Liora’s direction, as if scanning over the intruder.

However, Liora did not show any fear.

She could see that the man lacked any signs of life, and despite there not being any obvious traces of it, he was already dead. He had died thousands of years ago, in the ancient battlefield she had just witnessed.

Only a ferocious resentment kept him ”alive”, spreading throughout the hall and making the atmosphere akin to Hell’s.

”Why? Why must the Divine Army be destroyed?!”

”Why should the Divine Dynasty be torn apart?”

”I don’t believe it! The Divine Dynasty will emerge again!”

”How could the Demon God fall?”

Several manic sentences rang in Liora’s mind, all belonging to the same man.

As she took a small step forward and approached the throne, the voice grew even louder and more manic.

The man cursed the Divine Clans, cursed the world itself, while begging for the Demon God to return and rebuild the Divine Dynasty.

As she listened, Liora matched this person’s appearance with a portrait she had seen in the military base during the earlier battle.

”Is he the Commander of the Divine Army? Was this Ruin born from his resentment?”, she speculated, but her movements did not pause.

In the blink of an eye, she had arrived before the massive throne, practically standing next to the young man.

The voice in her head was now almost impossible to ignore.

However, at the same time, Liora sensed something else.

A deep yearning.

The closer she got to the throne, the more intense that yearning became, and by the time she stopped in front of it, even she found it difficult to suppress it.

Both her body, soul, and even the Demon Weapon were urging her to get closer to the Commander, as if that would bring unimaginable benefits to her very being.

Liora did her best to suppress these instincts at first.

But as she stared at the Commander and took a deeper look at him, she understood why that was happening.

”Is this what the Ruin is based upon?”

”The resentment that gives birth to Evil Spirits, the body of a dead Demon Saint that is about to become a Demon Sovereign, and a higher-level power that is keeping them all together...”

Saying this, Liora couldn’t help but shake her head.

”This world... is hopeless.”

”The situation in the world of Knights was already complicated, but compared to this one, it’s nothing.”

By now, Liora had guessed a lot of things.

In fact, whether it was the power of Evil Spirits or the Demon Weapons, they both originated from other worlds.

Recalling what she had seen during her descent, Liora was led to believe that they came from the two higher-level worlds surrounding the Demon Weapon World.

In her opinion, these two worlds were using the Demon Weapon World as a place to confront each other without harming their interests.

This was why this world was so bizarre and so closely resembled the chaos of the Demon World.

”But such a situation is good for me. Only in such a chaotic world can I possibly thrive.”

”If this world were normal and several Greater Devil beings were not afraid of something, how would I be afforded the time to improve myself?”, Liora couldn’t help but smile.

After a brief pause, she stopped restraining herself.

Instantly, her aura surged, becoming similar to the one exuded by the giant claw before.

Her body squirmed, and her skin was torn open as several tentacles made of blood reached out and shot towards the corpse sitting on the colossal throne.

The tentacles were not alone.

Soon, the crimson saber and the black umbrella also emerged, pouncing on the corpse like wolves meeting their prey.

The three distinct powers seemed to have reached an agreement.

The black umbrella pounced on the corpse and began devouring its essence, while the crimson saber swallowed the golden armor the man was wearing.

On the other hand, the most mysterious of the three parties was the bloody tentacles.

They didn’t devour anything from the corpse itself, but instead targeted the aura emanating from it.

Its resentment—the reason behind the birth of Evil Spirits.

Or at least that was what the natives of this world thought.

Liora, being far more knowledgeable, understood that this resentment was actually the World Origin of a higher-level world!

Instantly, Liora’s oppressive aura began to fluctuate, becoming even more prominent.

The black umbrella devoured the majority of the Demon Saint corpse and appeared to have broken through its limits, reaching another, completely new level.

It was transforming into a Demon Saint Demon Weapon at an astonishing rate.

At the same time, the World Devourer Method operated on its own, using the World Origin as nourishment.

Information poured into Liora’s mind as her relationship with the Land of Nothingness grew more intimate and their connection even stronger.

The crimson saber was not to be outdone.

It turned the golden armor into Indestructible Matter and integrated it into its own body.

In the blink of an eye, its entire surface had been dyed golden, and the same held true for Liora’s soul.

The next moment, the Indestructible Matter overflowed. It poured out of her soul and spread throughout her body, causing a tinge of gold to appear on it, too.
