Dragon God Supreme

Chapter 5: Chapter 005 Refusal

“Feng Wuchen! Are you not taking things too far with your heavy hand?” Yang Tian spoke angrily, his face darkened with rage. Yang Bufan’s hand bones were broken, effectively crippling him.

Unless there’s a Third-grade Alchemist, nobody in Unmatched City can save him.

“Feng Wuchen! It was Yang Bufan who provoked me first. His every attack was lethal. Everyone present has a stronger cultivation base than me; can’t you see that Yang Bufan intended to kill me? By merely breaking his hand bones, I’ve already shown mercy,” Feng Wuchen responded coldly.

“Feng Wuchen!” Yang Tian’s face grew even darker, and his narrowed eyes emitted a faint killing intent.

“This is outrageous! How dare you break my son’s arm! Feng Wuchen! I will not spare you!” Yang Shan, the great elder of the Yang family, bellowed in anger, his formidable presence erupting forth.

“Hmph! I’d like to see who from the Yang family dares to touch my son!” Feng Zhengxiong took a step forward, unleashing the imposing aura of the Ninth Level of the Transformative Realm.

...

His domineering presence intimidated the entire venue, silencing the Yang family. Even the Family Head, Yang Qingyun, who was at the Eighthfold of the Transformative Realm, did not dare to challenge Feng Zhengxiong.

Within Unmatched City, the only person capable of contending with Feng Zhengxiong was Mo Kun, the Family Head of the Mo family!

Don’t forget that the Feng family has the support of a First Grade Alchemist. Since Feng Zhengxiong’s breakthrough to the Ninth Level of the Transformative Realm, the status of the Feng family has been unlike any other day.

“Feng Zhengxiong! If my son’s arm is ruined, I will fight you to the death! From today forth, I will sever all business ties with the Feng family!” The great elder, Yang Shan, shouted furiously, his face twisted with rage.

“Hmph! If your Yang family dares to touch a single hair on my son, I will eradicate your entire Yang family!” Feng Zhengxiong roared with fury, unleashing the ferocity of an utterly untouchable fierce lion.

“Feng Wuchen! I challenge you! Do you dare to accept?” Yang Tian shouted angrily.

“Yang Tian, do you have no shame? Yang Bufan was already bullying the weaker, my third brother is only at the Fourth Layer of the Body Refining Realm, and you are already at Eighthfold. Isn’t it too much to challenge my third brother? How about I challenge you instead? Do you dare to accept?” Feng Zhan coldly retorted.

Feng Zhan, two years older than Feng Wuchen, was now at the First Layer of the Qi Refining Realm, several times stronger than Yang Tian.

Some people present found Feng Zhan’s words reasonable. When they thought Yang Tian was going too far, Feng Wuchen’s next words instantly stiffened their faces.

“I accept your challenge!” Feng Wuchen responded without hesitation, then added, “But I have one condition; give me one month’s time.”

“Chen Er! Don’t accept his challenge!” Xiao Qingqing hastily interjected.

“Madam.” Feng Zhengxiong held Xiao Qingqing back, giving a slight shake of his head, apparently intending to let Feng Wuchen make his own decision.

Yang Tian was the foremost talent of the younger generation of the Yang family, awakening a Fifth Grade Martial Soul with exceptional potential, many times stronger than Feng Wuchen.

“Hmph! Even if you dare to accept, not just one month, even if I give you three months, how could you possibly reach the Sixth Layer of the Body Refining Realm with your Second Grade Martial Soul talent in that time?” Yang Tian sneered with malicious joy.

“One month is enough!” Feng Wuchen said with confident, cold laughter.

“One month? Feng Wuchen, I advise you not to humiliate yourself,” Mo Ling’er stated coldly; she didn’t believe Feng Wuchen had such capability.

“It’s none of your concern,” Feng Wuchen replied indifferently, not sparing Mo Ling’er a glance.

Feng Wuchen’s indifference and aloof demeanor greatly annoyed Mo Ling’er, who felt an extreme distaste for him.

“Hmph! Delusions of grandeur! He wouldn’t be a match for Elder Brother Yang even in a year!”

“One month to defeat Yang Tian? Utterly arrogant.”

“Considering how easily Feng Wuchen defeated Yang Bufan, perhaps he truly has the ability.”

In one month’s time, not many in Unmatched City had faith in Feng Wuchen, considering Yang Tian’s strength and talent were well known to all.

Ignoring the discussions around him and shifting his gaze to Elder Su, Feng Wuchen said, “Elder Su, Yang Bufan has lost. The second spot should go to Lin You.”

“That is natural,” Elder Su nodded and smiled inquiringly, “I’m quite curious why you would give away your spot to someone else?”

“Because Lin You is my only friend in Unmatched City, I just have a Second Grade Martial Soul and am not qualified to enter Tianyan Academy,” Feng Wuchen answered calmly.

“What if I make an exception and increase the number of spots to three? Would you be willing to enter Tianyan Academy then?” Elder Su pressed on, his question coming after witnessing Feng Wuchen’s swift ability to counter his opponent’s move, convinced that Feng Wuchen was anything but a mediocrity.

No sooner had Elder Su’s words fallen than everyone in the venue was shocked!

Elder Su was actually inviting Feng Wuchen to join Tianyan Academy! Moreover, he was seeking Feng Wuchen’s opinion!

Mo Ling’er was selected merely for her talent, but Feng Wuchen’s situation was different; he was directly favored by Elder Su, and from his words, it was evident that Elder Su held Feng Wuchen in high regard!

Though both could enter Tianyan Academy, Feng Wuchen was held in higher esteem than Mo Ling’er.

“Fantastic! Chen Er! Quickly thank Elder Su!” Xiao Qingqing exclaimed joyfully.

“Excellent! Worthy of being my son, Feng Zhengxiong! Haha!” Feng Zhengxiong was beaming with joy, buoyant and bursting into laughter, dispelling the gloom from before.

“Third brother, that’s great! You can finally go to Tianyan Academy!” Feng Yuan and Feng Zhan were truly happy for Feng Wuchen.

The crowd could scarcely believe it; Elder Su was breaking the rules for a mere Second Grade Martial Soul!

“Elder Su has taken a fancy to Feng Wuchen! Who would have thought this brat had such miraculous abilities!” Mo Kun thought to himself with a frown.

“Elder Su, Feng Wuchen is just a waste with a Second Grade Martial Soul. Letting him join Tianyan Academy would disgrace its reputation!”

“Elder Su, please reconsider! My son Yang Tian’s potential is definitely more than ten times that of Feng Wuchen. If Elder Su is making an exception, I hope the spot will go to Yang Tian!”

“There are many in Unmatched City with talents far superior to Feng Wuchen; why must Elder Su insist on recruiting such a failure?”

The higher-ups of the Mo and Yang families were extremely anxious. With an additional spot available, they all wanted their own sons to enter Tianyan Academy.

But just when they were worried that Elder Su would give the spot to Feng Wuchen, his reply instantly silenced the crowd.

“I gratefully acknowledge Elder Su’s kind intentions, but I do not wish to join Tianyan Academy,” Feng Wuchen politely declined.

What so many people yearned for, Feng Wuchen actually refused!

Not to mention the people of Unmatched City, even Elder Su felt he must have heard wrong, his face one of disbelief.

“What did Feng Wuchen say? He doesn’t want to join Tianyan Academy?”

“Did I hear that wrong? This brat actually refused!”

“He’s refusing because he’s too ashamed to go, right? Afraid of being laughed at by others!”

After a moment of silence, the area around the stage erupted into chaos as exclamations swept over it like a tidal wave.

“What did you say?” Elder Su asked in astonishment, still unwilling to believe his ears.

“You insolent boy! Have you lost your mind? It’s rare for Elder Su to offer you such an opportunity, and you dare to reject it!” Feng Zhengxiong, shocked, couldn’t help but scold furiously, nearly driven to madness by anger.

“Elder Su, please don’t rush, let me have a good talk with Chen Er,” Xiao Qingqing was flustered, worried about offending Elder Su.

Nobody from the Feng family had anticipated Feng Wuchen’s refusal!

“Dad, Mom, there’s no need to speak further; I’ve made up my mind,” Feng Wuchen quickly said.

Hearing this, the Mo and Yang families could hardly contain their glee, looking at Feng Wuchen as if he were a fool.

Elder Su frowned slightly and asked with regret, “Feng Wuchen, can you tell me your reason?”

Feng Wuchen shook his head and said, “There is no reason.”

“Elder Su, he’s just a Second Grade Martial Soul waste; why bother wasting words on him?” Mo Ling’er couldn’t stand to watch Elder Su treat Feng Wuchen with such an inviting stance.

Elder Su did not respond to her but continued, “Feng Wuchen, if you are willing, I can take you as my personal disciple. What do you say?”

A personal disciple?

The entire place was in an uproar, Elder Su of Tianyan Academy was planning to take a Second Grade Martial Soul failure as his personal disciple!

Since the establishment of Tianyan Academy, it had never been heard that an elder wanted to take a disciple, much less a personal disciple!

“Chen Er! Why aren’t you agreeing immediately!” Feng Zhengxiong bit his teeth and scolded angrily, frantic with impatience.

“Third Brother! Agree quickly!” Feng Yuan wished he could agree on behalf of Feng Wuchen.

“Feng Big Brother! Agree quickly!” Lin You also called out anxiously.

“Elder Su, I am very grateful for your kindness, but I only want to practice on my own. You don’t have much time left, and if the cold poison in you is not expelled soon, I’m afraid you won’t survive more than half a month. You should hurry back and expel the poison,” Feng Wuchen refused again, and this time he also revealed Elder Su’s physical condition.

Hearing this, Elder Su was deeply shocked, staring at Feng Wuchen with widened eyes.

Everyone was stunned, staring at Feng Wuchen as if turned to stone. Was he cursing Elder Su?

“You insolent child! What do you know? Do not be disrespectful to Elder Su!” Feng Zhengxiong scolded yet again, truly wanting to slap Feng Wuchen.

“Cold poison? How come I didn’t notice it?” Feng Qianyang frowned slightly.

“Feng Wuchen! Such audacity! The face that’s been given, you’ve refused! How dare you be disrespectful to Elder Su!” Mo Ling’er shouted angrily.

“Feng Wuchen is too arrogant! To refuse Elder Su’s kindness is one thing, but to be disrespectful to Elder Su too!”

“Make Feng Wuchen kneel and apologize to Elder Su!”

“Exactly! Kneel down!”

Seeing Elder Su about to burst with rage, the entire venue was filled with angry shouts; everyone seemed eager to tear Feng Wuchen apart.

“Kneel down and apologize? Why should I kneel? Why should I apologize? If you want the third spot, you don’t need to use me as a scapegoat, do you?” Feng Wuchen said with a cold laugh.

“Chen Er! What on earth are you doing?” Watching everyone blame Feng Wuchen, Xiao Qingqing was anxiously uneasy.

“Feng Zhengxiong! Are you not going to make your son kneel and apologize to Elder Su?” Mo Kun reproached angrily, not wanting to miss an opportunity to suppress the Feng family.

“Hmph! Feng Zhengxiong! Offending Elder Su, I don’t see how you can protect your son now!” Yang Shan sneered triumphantly, and many others reveled in schadenfreude.

Watching the faces of these people, Feng Wuchen secretly shook his head. Such was the world where the strong are venerated, and the weak can never stand on the stage.

“Feng Zhengxiong, is this how you teach your son? Do you understand the consequences of offending Elder Su?” Mo Kun said coldly.

“The consequences I do not know, Family Head Mo, why don’t you enlighten me?” Feng Wuchen said with a cold laugh, not fearful even if he had indeed offended Elder Su.
