Chapter 502: Chapter 502: Master Thief Little Ape

Guang Xuanji had shouted out four hundred thousand purely to spite Lin Yun. However, when a long moment passed and she didn’t hear Lin Yun continue bidding, her expression gradually grew worried.

’This guy isn’t going to back out, is he?’ Guang Xuanji thought worriedly. If Lin Yun really stopped here, she would have to fork over four hundred thousand Middle Grade Primordial Stones.

To Guang Xuanji, spending four hundred thousand Middle Grade Primordial Stones on an Elemental Power Stone was a massive loss, because she had absolutely no interest in it.

Just as Guang Xuanji feared, Lin Yun never raised his bid. At that moment, the auctioneer on the stage announced that Guang Xuanji had won the Elemental Power Stone for the price of four hundred thousand Middle Grade Primordial Stones.

’How infuriating.’ She had never expected things to turn out like this. She had wanted to spite Lin Yun, but instead, he had played her for a fool.

But what was done was done. No matter how unwilling Guang Xuanji was, she had to pay for the Elemental Power Stone. At the Celestial Spirit Auction House, the consequences for bidding and failing to pay were extremely severe.

When the auction concluded, Lin Yun left the private room with a faint smile, accompanied by Li Tian and the others. Throughout the entire event, Lin Yun hadn’t bought a single item; only Mo Qingliu had won a pearl necklace.

Outside the auction house, Lin Yun’s group ran into Guang Xuanji, who wore a sullen expression. Lin Yun walked up to her and said with a faint smile, ”Miss Xiaoqing, I didn’t expect to see you at this auction.”

Hearing this, Guang Xuanji’s expression darkened, but she quickly put on a smile and replied, ”I didn’t realize it was Young Master Lin just now. I snatched away your beloved treasure; I hope you won’t hold it against me, Young Master.”

At her words, both Lin Yun and Guang Xuanji chuckled softly. After a moment, Lin Yun said blandly, ”You’re too polite, Miss Xiaoqing. It was a fair competition. Since you won, I have nothing more to say. But allow me to offer you a piece of advice: an item this valuable must be guarded well.”

Without waiting for Guang Xuanji to reply, Lin Yun turned and left.

Watching Lin Yun’s back as he walked away, Guang Xuanji let out a cold smile. ’If you have the guts, come take it from me at Chunfeng Tower. I’d like to see just how capable you really are.’

Once aboard the carriage, Lin Yun woke up Little Ape, who was sleeping soundly on his shoulder. Pointing at Guang Xuanji’s carriage, he said, ”See that carriage? Follow it and bring me back the Space Ring from the woman inside.”

Hearing Lin Yun’s command, Little Ape gave a crisp nod, then transformed into a streak of blood-red light and leaped directly onto the roof of Guang Xuanji’s carriage.

When it came to the art of pilfering, if Little Ape claimed to be second best, no one in the world would dare claim to be the best. The moment Guang Xuanji had shouted the high price of four hundred thousand, Lin Yun had made up his mind. ’Since Guang Xuanji wants to save me a sum of money, how can I possibly refuse her kindness?’

Sitting contentedly in the carriage, Lin Yun’s party headed for the Bai Mansion. Traveling with them, of course, were Shi Wu and Mo Qingliu.

Back at the Bai Mansion, Bai Ling was already waiting in the main hall. Of course, she wasn’t waiting for Lin Yun, but for the young lady, Mo Qingliu.

However, Mo Qingliu felt not a shred of goodwill toward Bai Ling. Seeing Bai Ling sitting in the main seat, Mo Qingliu said peevishly, ”Hmph. A vixen.”

Mo Qingliu’s reaction was only natural. Mo Qingshui had always believed that Bai Ling was the reason Luo Feng had broken off their engagement. Under her sister’s influence, Mo Qingliu naturally resented Bai Ling.

Hearing Mo Qingliu’s remark, Bai Ling merely smiled faintly. She didn’t get angry; instead, she took Mo Qingliu’s hand.

Seeing this, Lin Yun pulled Shi Wu along, called over Li Tian, and the three of them promptly left the main hall. As for Mo Qingliu, he trusted that Bai Ling would have a way to handle her.

On the way, Shi Wu was quite worried about Mo Qingliu. He was afraid the fearless young lady would stir up some kind of trouble, and he was also afraid that Bai Ling might do something inappropriate to her. After all, this was Wind City, not Jincheng.

Seeing Shi Wu’s concern, Lin Yun smiled faintly. ”Brother Shi Wu, don’t be so worried. The Bai Patriarch has her ways. I guarantee Miss Qingliu will have a complete change of heart by tomorrow.”

Hearing this, Shi Wu replied doubtfully, ”Brother Lin Yun, you don’t understand the Second Miss’s personality. She’s the type who loves to stir up trouble.”

Lin Yun simply smiled, pushed open the gate to his small courtyard, and invited Shi Wu inside.

”Brother Shi Wu, stop worrying about Miss Qingliu. I’ll stake my life on it—she will be perfectly fine. Tonight, we need to have a few good drinks.” Pulling Shi Wu into the courtyard, Lin Yun laughed heartily.

Since Lin Yun had put it that way, Shi Wu couldn’t object. Lin Yun ordered a maid to bring some wine and food, and the three of them—Lin Yun, Shi Wu, and Li Tian—began to drink to their hearts’ content.

While the three men were drinking at the Bai Mansion, Little Ape had tailed Guang Xuanji all the way to her room in Chunfeng Tower. The poor, clever Guang Xuanji never suspected that a tiny creature had been secretly following her, much less that it had now entered her private chambers.

For the fist-sized Little Ape, finding a hiding spot was ridiculously easy.

Having been out all day, Guang Xuanji was now preparing to bathe. A maid had already drawn the water for her. As she undressed, Guang Xuanji was completely oblivious to anything being amiss.

Guang Xuanji was undeniably beautiful, but Little Ape had no interest whatsoever in human women. Thus, seeing her bathing, the little monkey felt nothing at all.

Once Guang Xuanji had settled into the bath, Little Ape seized the opportunity. He crept over to the rack where she had placed her clothes. Lying there was not only her outfit, but also the Space Ring she had removed.

Remembering Lin Yun’s instructions, Little Ape snatched up Guang Xuanji’s Space Ring. But just as he was about to leave, he suddenly turned back to look at her discarded clothes.

After a moment of contemplation, Little Ape went over and snatched all of Guang Xuanji’s clothes, too.

That night, the three men drank heavily. Lin Yun returned to his room in a groggy stupor and quickly fell asleep. But when he woke up the next day, the very first thing his eyes landed on was a woman’s bodice.

He sat bolt upright in shock. Lin Yun discovered a complete set of women’s clothing laid out on his bed—everything from the inside out. On top of the pile of clothes sat a Space Ring.

Lin Yun instantly understood what had happened. ’It must have been Little Ape.’ He recognized the outfit; it was the exact one Guang Xuanji had been wearing yesterday.

”Little Ape...!” he roared, a mixture of shame and anger in his voice.

Hearing Lin Yun’s furious shout, the still-drowsy Little Ape replied lazily, ”What is it, Big Bro?”

”You... I told you to get the Space Ring! What did you bring her clothes back for?” Lin Yun didn’t know how to start, and after struggling for a moment, he finally stammered out the question.

”I thought you’d like them, Big Bro.” Little Ape was completely oblivious to Lin Yun’s mortification.
