Devouring Evolution: Devouring Nuclear Bombs at the Start

61: Chapter 61 Tai SuiLeaving the ”Scorpion Ranch,” Lin Sheng headed straight for the Plain.

He had been itching to uncover the secrets of the Plain’s central region for a long time.

Now that he finally had the strength, no matter what, he had to go take a look.

While in the skies above the Plain, Lin Sheng suddenly sensed something familiar.

He still had a marker in this vicinity.

Following the guidance of the marker, Lin Sheng came to a halt beside a massive body.

...

”Wuhu?”

Seeing the massive body ahead, Lin Sheng called out uncertainly.

Hearing Lin Sheng’s call, Eighteen hid the blood-colored tumor it was clutching behind its back and then whipped its head around.

”Dong...”

”Ding?”

”Qiang qiang!”

Eighteen’s expression shifted from fury to confusion, and finally, upon realizing the newcomer really was Lin Sheng, from confusion to joy.

It brought the blood-colored tumor it had just hidden back out and, after a slight hesitation, handed the tumor to Lin Sheng.

Seeing this, Lin Sheng felt a warmth in his heart.

Eighteen was the only creature that had brought him warmth since he arrived in this world.

Looking at the blood-colored tumor Eighteen had placed before him, a goal suddenly formed in Lin Sheng’s mind.

He wanted to help Eighteen find its former planet.

Even if that planet had been battered into ruins by a High-Level Civilization, and even if that High-Level Civilization hadn’t left yet, Lin Sheng still wanted to help Eighteen find its home and take it back there.

Even if it meant facing off against that unknown High-Level Civilization, Lin Sheng would do it.

This wasn’t Lin Sheng acting on impulse; rather, he had the confidence to face a High-Level Civilization.

No matter how advanced a civilization was, as long as it hadn’t reached the level of ”Truth” and lacked Truth Level strikes, Lin Sheng had nothing to fear.

Even if that High-Level Civilization truly possessed Truth Level strikes, Lin Sheng still wouldn’t be afraid.

Because he had the system.

Although the system wouldn’t help him pummel a High-Level Civilization, judging from the previous performance of ”Omniscience,” Truth Level things posed a certain threat to the system as well.

Lin Sheng refused to believe that if a Truth Level strike actually occurred, the system would just sit idly by.

[Ding]

[This system is supreme. What low-level civilizations perceive as Truth, this system can turn into a fallacy with a single thought.]

”Foster father! system grandfather, you are my true foster father!”

The system’s emotionless mechanical heart sounded incredibly dear to Lin Sheng at this moment.

”Ding ding?”

Watching Lin Sheng suddenly dash off a long distance, Eighteen was startled.

It tilted its head, looking at Lin Sheng with a face full of confusion.

Hearing Eighteen’s crisp metallic voice, Lin Sheng snapped back to reality.

He didn’t feel dejected because the system hadn’t responded.

It was the same as before: after spending these days together, Lin Sheng knew that for his system, there was no problem that a cry of ”foster father” couldn’t solve.

Having regained his composure, Lin Sheng didn’t decline and directly took the blood-colored tumor Eighteen had prepared for him from its claws.

And it was at this moment that he suddenly noticed the changes in Eighteen’s body.

He had felt something was off about Eighteen just now, and now that they were in close contact, Lin Sheng finally knew what it was.

Lin Sheng’s own current body length was around 800 meters, but when he looked at Eighteen, he discovered that Eighteen’s body length was more than three times his own.

Lin Sheng blinked and looked at Eighteen again.

「Body Length: 2,741 meters」

”Big brother, have you been eating hormones lately?”

A roar filled with confusion escaped Lin Sheng’s mouth. Although Eighteen could hear the questioning tone, it couldn’t understand what Lin Sheng was saying.

Consequently, Eighteen could only tilt its head at Lin Sheng to express its own confusion.

”Hou hou.”

Meeting Eighteen’s puzzled gaze, Lin Sheng could only respond with a helpless expression.

Relying on ”Omniscience,” he could read the meaning Eighteen wanted to convey.

But Eighteen didn’t have ”Omniscience.” To understand what Lin Sheng meant, Eighteen could only rely on guesswork based on Lin Sheng’s facial expressions and demeanor.

At this moment, although Eighteen knew Lin Sheng was confused, it didn’t understand what he was confused about, which made Eighteen feel a sense of stifled frustration.

”Hou hou.”

Seeing Eighteen’s reaction, Lin Sheng knew that because of the language barrier, Eighteen must be feeling quite uncomfortable.

But there was nothing he could do about it, so he could only let out a few soft roars of comfort.

Lin Sheng’s comfort was effective; after realizing that being upset was useless, Eighteen’s mood calmed down.

Driven by curiosity, Lin Sheng placed his claw on Eighteen’s body.

”Why is Eighteen growing so fast?”

「??? Remnant Grace will cause Eighteen to grow rapidly until it reaches adulthood.」

”Roughly how many meters long will Eighteen be once it reaches adulthood?”

「Around 8,000 meters.」

Lin Sheng nodded thoughtfully.

It seemed Eighteen still had a lot of room for growth. He might as well take this opportunity to bring Eighteen to the center of this Plain and help it obtain the ”heavenly treasure” located there.

With that thought, Lin Sheng swallowed the blood-colored tumor in one gulp, then led Eighteen away from the upper atmosphere and down toward the Ground.

Along the way, Lin Sheng encountered some relatively large creatures.

However, upon sensing the divinity radiating from Lin Sheng and seeing Eighteen’s massive size, these creatures all turned tail and fled without looking back.

Even creatures polluted by ”chaotic information” would mostly flee this place, driven by instinct.

Only a few who were terminally ill and fearless would brainlessly charge toward Lin Sheng, but before they could get close, Lin Sheng would send them to their deaths with a single Nuclear Energy Ray.

Soon, Lin Sheng brought Eighteen to the Ground.

However, looking at the mess of craters in the center of the Plain and the milky-white Tentacles in the middle crater that looked like they had been forcibly torn off by something, Lin Sheng felt a wave of disappointment.

He had imagined many possibilities: he’d thought the Plain would be strewn with severed limbs as creatures competed for some glowing fruit.

He had also imagined countless exotic beasts waiting quietly just so an unknown energy body could ripen peacefully.

Lin Sheng had even thought that in the middle of the Plain would be a glowing creature so powerful that he would only dare approach if he brought Eighteen along.

But upon seeing this scene, Lin Sheng’s beautiful fantasies were shattered.

There was no scene of beasts fighting, nor any glowing creature; there was only a wide, empty hole, with a few torn milky-white Tentacles hanging from the walls of the pit.

Lin Sheng dug his claws into the Ground and activated ”Omniscience.”

”Do fruits grow on these Tentacles?”

「Yes.」

”I need information on the fruit.”

「The fruit is the bait of the ’Taisui.’ It appears as a blood-colored tumor. Consuming it can enhance the strength of a creature’s flesh and blood body and greatly extend its lifespan.」

.

It is said that Taisui can live for hundreds of millions of years. The inspiration for the Plain and the tumor’s life-extending properties both came from Taisui. I wonder if any of you guessed it.
