Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 621: Chapter 332: Seeing You Brightens My Mood

”Hey Kenneth, I’ll be home in half an hour. Do you want any late-night snacks? I can order takeout and have it delivered,” Lawrence Winters said cheerfully.

Kenneth Osborne quickly replied, ”Are you done with work? Drive safely. What do you want for snacks? I can make it for you.”

”Haha, no need! Let’s just order takeout, it’s convenient and no need to clean the kitchen,” Lawrence’s last remark revealed her ”little scheme.”

Kenneth laughed too, ”You just hate cleaning the kitchen and washing dishes. Actually, we have a dishwasher for that, you just have to tidy up the kitchen.”

They had an arrangement: if Kenneth cooked, Lawrence had to wash dishes and tidy up the kitchen.

If Lawrence cooked, Kenneth would wash dishes and clean the kitchen.

But Kenneth’s cooking skills were much better than Lawrence’s, so most of the time, Kenneth cooked, and Lawrence tidied up the kitchen and washed dishes.

Lawrence smiled and said, ”I’ve always said you should make a robot that can clean the kitchen. When can you make one? I’ll tell you what, you don’t need to give me any dowry, just give me a robot that can clean the kitchen and tidy the house.”

Kenneth was amused, ”Then I’d better give a dowry. If I could make such a robot, it would be much more expensive than a dowry.”

What Lawrence wanted wasn’t just a disc-shaped floor-cleaning robot that only crawls under the bed.

That isn’t a robot, just an automated machine.

What Lawrence wanted was a real robot that can walk upright, with limbs, and use its arms to tidy up and clean, though it shouldn’t look too much like a human—mechanical in texture is fine.

Kenneth noted down all of Lawrence’s requests, but the breakthrough in voice commands hadn’t been made yet. Creating such a robot was still just a theoretical concept.

Fortunately, this time when Lawrence asked him to do post-production effects, he had her try out a voice command feature, and the results were surprisingly good.

Kenneth had a flash of inspiration, sensing that the precision in this human-computer dialogue, if applied to an AI-powered robot, might be his breakthrough moment.

But addressing the technical challenges from virtual scene modeling in image processing to effective communication in real-world scene modeling was no less daunting than Einstein’s theory of relativity.

After Lawrence left home, he worked for four to five hours without even having dinner, but made little progress.

Going from a virtual scene to a real-world scene required inputting too many factors; his home computer couldn’t handle such calculations.

Even though his home computer was top-of-the-line, it was still a home computer and couldn’t compare with top-end commercial computers used for academic research.

Kenneth planned to go to the office tomorrow to work overtime and test his ideas again.

...

Lawrence walked into the elevator with Edward Foster and Mrs. Foster.

Mrs. Foster asked her with a smile, ”It’s so late, isn’t it inconvenient for you to go home alone? Why not let Edward take you? He’s a man; he should show some gentlemanly courtesy.”

Edward hurriedly said, ”Lawrence, should I take you home? I know you drove, but it doesn’t matter if you leave the car in the garage.”

Lawrence thought, this is Kenneth’s car. They only have one car. If it’s left in the garage, how will he get to work on Monday?

She refused with a smile, ”No need, I drive home quickly. Besides, I’m a good driver, don’t worry.”

Mrs. Foster, seeing her earnest refusal, smiled, ”Okay then, shall we exchange WeChat contacts? Send me a message when you get home so I can rest easy.”

Lawrence was a bit taken aback.

This company president’s wife is really kind, huh?

Caring so much about a junior employee.

With nothing else to say, what could Lawrence do when the company president’s wife proactively asked to add her on WeChat?

Of course, she added her!

Lawrence happily exchanged WeChat contacts with Mrs. Foster and then they reached the ground floor lobby together.

Mrs. Foster’s car was parked by the side of the road, with a driver waiting, so there was no need to go to the parking lot.

Lawrence and Edward’s cars were parked in the parking lot.

The two of them went to the parking lot together, and Lawrence got in her car first.

Edward held the car door and said, ”Send me a WeChat message when you get home, too. Otherwise, I’ll also worry. I called you in for overtime today, so I should see it through to the end.”

Lawrence nodded with a smile, ”No problem.”

She closed the car door.

Although the acceleration feature of a Tesla isn’t as powerful as a real sports car, it’s still quite good.

With a press on the accelerator, the Tesla shot out like an arrow from a bow.

Edward blinked and realized Lawrence had already driven away.
