Chapter 149: The Puppeteer’s Cruelty

“Don’t you dare count me out just yet! [Marionette]!” Vaelira shouted.

A surge of violet energy burst from her core, spiraling into the air like phantom threads, each one imbued with the raw, untamed power of the arcane. It was a terrifying display of her mastery, a dance of domination woven from pure magic.

Then, those threads latched onto Leon. His body jerked violently like a marionette on strings. His arms were ruined, useless, his every muscle protesting the unseen command, but that didn’t matter.

The strings pulled.

And like a puppet, Leon obeyed.

His broken fingers twitched.

Then, they wrapped around his sword hilt.

Agony ripped through him, a silent wail echoing only in his mind. He tried to scream out loud, but his throat had no voice. Vaelira’s eyes gleamed coldly. “Leon,” she whispered, “Swing.”

His body moved against his will.

His feet dragged forward, his legs trembling, his ruined arms shaking as he lifted the blade that felt heavier than the world itself.

The edge of his sword clashed against Bastet’s golden khopesh, interrupting her spell.

*Crack!*

As the sound of Leon’s bones snapping reverberated throughout the boss chamber, Bastet recoiled with a snarl.

Vaelira smirked despite the blood trailing down her lips. A cold, triumphant glint danced in her eyes, reflecting her utter control.

She had lived up to her name.

She was no mere summoner.

She was an Arcane Puppeteer.

And all were hers to command.

The sandstorm broke, abruptly dissipating as if it had never been, creating a new reality. The moment Bastet’s focus wavered, her control snapped, making the howling winds vanish in an instant, revealing three figures rushing forward, ready to seize the moment.

Luna’s [Stormblade] crackled with electricity.

Aria’s lunar energy burned in the air.

Nyx’s telekinetic force surged like an invisible tidal wave.

Kaiden didn’t hesitate—his axe rose high into the air.

Bastet staggered, caught between the relentless barrage from all sides.

She barely dodged Aria’s [Crescent Volley], but that left her open for Luna’s [Thunder Slash].

She twisted her body with unnatural agility to avoid it, only for Nyx to slam her against the ground with a towering shield summoned through [Astral Summon: Earth].

Bastet coughed up blood; she suffered a concussion. The metallic taste of iron filled her mouth.

But she refused to tap out. She gathered her strength, trying to stand.

Not caring for any such thought Bastet might’ve had, Kaiden switched to Wrath Stance.

His [Doom Strike] glowed with raw, insatiable thirst for blood.

This was it.

He swung.

The blade fell.

[Ding!]

His body froze mid-motion.

A system notification rang in his very soul.

[The Demonic Pornstar System has detected an elusive race: Ra-Blessed Felinid. Members of this species are wild monsters that undergo a powerful transformation when tamed, evolving into legendary beings that grow alongside their master, having the potential to become world-ending catastrophes.

The Heavenly Demon spent 1,000 years searching for a single one, but he never succeeded.

This is an ultra-rare opportunity. The Demonic Pornstar System recommends the Successor doesn’t waste this chance.]

Kaiden understood instantly, grinning from ear to ear. A wicked, predatory gleam entered his gaze as the implications sank in.

‘So you’re telling me… she’s the perfect target for that, huh?’

In the last moment, he switched his grip on the axe’s handle, angling its bladed edge sideways and bonking the boss monster on the head, causing her world to spin.

When Vaelira used Leon to go for the finishing strike, Kaiden parried his blade himself.

“Go treat the wounded. I got this,” he instructed before flashing his ladies an apologetic smile.

“I’m requesting your permission,” he said while reaching for his scattered Metal Nomad gearset, taking his chestplate off, letting it fall to the ground with a loud thud.

“Seriously, dude?” Luna asked dryly. Her heart was pumped full of adrenaline, this was not the finale she hoped for after such an epic boss fight.

“Hmm… I don’t know…” Aria mused, eyeing the hissing Bastet, who was doing her utmost to collect herself and stand.

“I like this kitty; she’s very sexy, and based on her earlier antics, she is also a very intelligent monster. Though her arrogance needs to be curbed, I’m sure I can leave that to you… Master,” Nyx purred, earning herself a ‘thank you’ from Kaiden alongside a cocky smile, letting her know she could indeed leave the ‘bratty woman correction’ part to him.

The three Valkyries exchanged glances with one another, silently acknowledging the sheer absurdity of what was about to unfold. Yet none of them moved to stop him. They had seen Kaiden do insane things before, but this? This took the cake.

“Haaah… Alright,” Luna muttered after a long sigh, putting her [Stormblade] away. The two ladies glanced at the final bastion of resistance.

“You promise you’ll love me as much as before?” Aria asked sheepishly, shocking Kaiden. He didn’t think she would assume his love for her to be capable of dropping even a single iota from ‘absolute maximum.’

“Of course I will. ‘Till the end of time. No matter what.”

Seeing his handsome smile, the Moon Valkyrie’s heart skipped a beat. “Then go for it, Kai!” she squealed with a beaming expression; her worries had been alleviated with a single statement of his.

“You’re too easy, Princess…” Luna grumbled, getting a ‘you’re one to talk, Chaos Gremlin. You didn’t even try to protest,’ in return.

“What are you doing?!” Vaelira shouted with frustration, not understanding why Kaiden didn’t let her deal the finishing blow.

“Your comrades are bleeding out; tend to them,” he instructed, ignoring her question.

Vaelira’s eyes widened like saucers when she saw this obnoxious man reaching for his shirt, revealing his abs.

“Why are you undressing?!” she screamed, but was utterly ignored this time around.

“The family friendly portion of Valhalla’s Sinners’ stream has ended… Anyone below the age of 18 will be kicked out. Thank you for your patronage, and I hope you enjoyed the stream. See you in our next broadcast. Also, check out our other videos while you wait…” Kaiden announced mechanically like a robot while reaching for his pants and freeing his precious friend from its confines.

“What the fuck are you doing?!!!” Vaelira screamed from the top of her lungs, not having the ability to bear the scene any longer while retaining any semblance of reservation.

“Wow there, easy,” Luna slid in next to the Arcane Puppeteer, spanking her behind as if she were a misbehaving donkey. She gestured for Vaelira to put her ear closer to her lips.
