Chapter 126 126: Holy Trinity

”… Fine! It will be a closed re-testing with only you, me, and the four youngsters present. All findings will be kept entirely off-record.”

ʼShe started with China, continued with India, and now to finish off the Holy Trinity of nations that pose the gravest threat to our country…ʼ Grace excitedly awaited Vesperaʼs response as her mind raced with possibilities of what she might say next. ʼWhat nonsense would this woman dare utter on official government line?!ʼ she screamed inwardly with excitement.

”Chairman, we still found no leads on the connection between the Russian terrorist who made an attempt on the presidentʼs life and his home country. As a loyal citizen of the United States, the recent days have been extremely trying on my mental well-being. I feel Iʼm not doing my duty unless I travel there in person and conduct a thorough investigation myself. Vladimir himself invited me to do so. Though, he also said he wanted to show me his great country once I concluded they had nothing to do with it, so it might take a while for me to return.”

ʼThere it is, the Holy Trinity has been completed!ʼ Grace giggled inwardly just as…

*Crack!* *Snap!* *Thud!*

Numerous veins bulged on the chairmanʼs arms as he outright tore the second armrest off of his chair and threw it to the ground. His frustration was palpable, and the sound of the armrest shattering mirrored the growing tension in the room.

”It seems youʼre in the middle of something. Iʼll leave you to it,” Vespera said and terminated the communication line without waiting for his response.

It took an entire minute for the chairman to calm himself. Grace dutifully stood still like a statue while waiting for her boss to either dismiss her or…

”So, Miss Grace, as the person tasked with observing this lovely womanʼs son, did you catch something meaningful that mightʼve flown by my ears without notice?” Sarcasm was present in his tone as he referenced Graceʼs earlier words when she asked him to put Vespera on speaker mode.

She completely ignored his tone and smiled brightly, ”Sir, I believe Vespera Ashborn isnʼt very fond of you, and she might betray her country should we mess with her son.”

”… Thank you for the acute observation, Miss Grace.”

…

”Phew! This grinding session was an outright soul-cleansing experience!” Nyx decreed with a toothy grin while wiping the sweat from her forehead with her arm.

”We should do this more often. I think this is the push you need to begin losing your enormous fat reserves,” Luna said while eyeing Nyxʼs heavily heaving cleavage in particular with a strong frown evident on her delicate face.

”Bestie, you should ask Kai whether he wants me to lose weight or not.”

The two hissing kittens turned their heads in the manʼs direction, only to see him lying on the dungeonʼs ground on his stomach with Aria seated on his back. She was in the middle of giving him a back massage. They spent the last few hours grinding nonstop, so they concluded the stream and walked back to the entrance where danger wasnʼt present, letting them relax before retiring for the day.

”… The princess is a cunning opportunist…” Nyx murmured.

”Her kind exterior makes one think sheʼs a harmless creature, but in reality, sheʼs a ruthless predator, always ready to pounce as soon as the opportunity presents itself,” Luna voiced her agreement for once as she eyed Aria with the gaze of a woman who was measuring her competition up.

”Kai, you were very cool today!” Aria cheered while using her trained arms to knead his shoulder blades, eliciting minor groans of pleasure from her man.

”Thanks, but you three were todayʼs stars.”

”Hehe! You say that, but you still killed more monsters than any of us!”

”Is that so…” Kaiden whispered while opening his status window to observe todayʼs enormous gains.

His systemʼs three unique stats, namely views, fangirls, and income didnʼt see much increase because Kaiden didnʼt upload any adult content for two days. He had spent yesterday fighting thugs to free Julia, and today was dungeon day. He didnʼt mind, though. Some downtime was perfect to let the audienceʼs eagerness increase for their next release… alongside the fattening of their wallets.

And yes, in a single day, he went from level 3 to 7. It was an incredibly successful day. The four of them worked in tandem as they continuously polished their teamwork.

However, the issue with this dungeon was beginning to bear its ugly fangs at Kaiden and co. He gained 36 stat points, which meant he averaged a little more than 8 per level—which he spread evenly across the four physical stats, thinking them to be equally important to him right now.

While ~8 stat points/level were admirable gains, Kaiden couldnʼt help but be a bit disappointed after getting 10 for his first level-up. The reason for his lower gains could be chalked up to the dungeon and its simplicity.

This was the perfect beginner dungeon because the monsters were all rather simple beasts. The mushroom creepers were the rare minority of more complicated monsters one could meet here, most were just evolved animals.

This meant that their simplicity lowered their difficulty, which in turn lowered the gains he got for slaying them.

Then why not just go deeper into the dungeon to meet stronger monsters?

First of all, as an F-rank dungeon, even the monsters on the edges of the dimension werenʼt incredibly strong. Even spotting a single level 20 monster would be rare.

Second, there was a cap on what was reasonable. They were already hunting for monsters that were above them in level, but if they ventured too far, they could chance upon high-leveled monsters that were simply impossible for them to fight due to the vast stat difference between them.

On average, monsters already had higher stats than an awakened of the same level, and this further increased for beast-type monsters—the specialty of this dungeon. Therefore, if they dared to venture too far, a level 20 monster might jump them. They likely couldnʼt even injure a beast-type monster of that level as they were right now; it would simply have too high defenses thanks to its overwhelming Vitality stat.

*Chime!*

A sound he had never heard before sounded in Kaidenʼs mind all of a sudden, making him flinch out of reflex and glance around, looking for enemies. However, he soon realized that it was the sound of none other than his awakened platform notifying him of an awakened person sending him a personal message for the first time in his life.

Although Kaiden didnʼt know it yet, this unexpected message would completely alter his future by giving him the opportunity of a lifetime!
