Death… And Me

Chapter 3919: Nailed It!

Everyone almost fell from the sky after hearing that question. Eye Drops? For that thing? How many tubes would you want? A million? Maybe even that wouldn’t be enough. First of all, there is no way Eye Drops would work on that!

However, before anyone could say anything, the eye reacted, and four golden rays of light shot from its center, the same golden light seen shooting at the previous candidates. The four golden lights fell on Celis, Roan, Rean, and Kentucky.

Then, what followed wasn’t just an intense light. No, that would be a huge understatement! It was as if a sun was born right there in the sky, or, to be more specific, four suns, every single one of them shining with pure golden color!

It wasn’t easy to see, though. Those around couldn’t even look directly at that radiance. It was powerful, and four at once. That was just too ridiculous!

”Celestial Ascendance!”

It was hard to tell who said that first, but it only voiced everyone’s thoughts. That was the fifth level of Golden Light, Celestial Ascendance. That was the highest result the Judgemental Eye could give to someone.

”No, it can’t be!” Someone else suddenly snapped out of his trance. ”It is already a miracle if a single one appears every thousand years, and you want to tell me that in this tiny group of ours, there are four of them? There must be a mistake!”

”However, the Judgemental Eye never mistook someone’s potential before.”

”Yeah? Then take a look at the eye! It is cracked!”

”That’s likely not because it was a mistake, but because the Judgemental Eye had a hard time acerting four Celestial Ascendance Radiances at once!”

Hlock already gave up thinking about it. He just used his CD and reported everything as he saw it. He was certain now. That Green Cluster must have something special about it to give birth to so many Golden Measurements, including four of the highest level.

Kentucky looked at Rean, talking through their connection. ’So... does that mean that eye artifact or whatever can see through our Celestial Bloodline Potential?’

Rean slightly nodded. ’Most likely. Well, I told you, didn’t I? It would either be something incredible or it would give no response at all.’

’Pay attention,’ Roan called them out. ’We are about to be dragged up. No doubt there will be a crowd of old geezers up there when we arrive, fighting to see who will snatch the new geniuses.’

’That’s not an issue, right?’ Celis pointed out. ’Since we are here to make ourselves visible, this is a good start. Anyway, we will see what happens up there.’

Just like Roan said, the twins’ group was caught by the power of the eye, and they were dragged up to the Floating Island like rockets. They obviously didn’t need to make it all the way up there anymore.

In a matter of seconds, the golden light around their bodies brought them to a big open field, finally disappearing right after.

They immediately saw Wisfreya and the others. However, this was not like Roan said. There was indeed a big crowd of elders and students of the Divine Military Academy looking at them. Yet, none of them approached to talk. That also included the first cultivator who was pulled up first. He was alone in that field.

Seeing that the twins arrived, Zangeshu, Foliana, and Tanxan came to talk to them. It’s just that used Divine Sense here. ’As expected, you four ended up shining more than anyone else.’

Wisfreya was also there, but because there were things she didn’t know, she was kept out of that conversation. Still, she stayed close to them.

’Well, you know the four of us have Celestial Bloodlines. Besides, our cultivation technique changed our constitutions completely,’ Rean said.

After that, he finally included Wisfreya in the conversation, as he no longer intended to discuss their secrets. ’Wisfreya, what is happening here? Why are none of those old geezers or the young students of this Military Academy coming to talk to us? We thought we would be overwhelmed by them by now.’

Wisfreya was the first one of them to arrive, so she explained. ’This seems to be the entrance of the Divine Military Exchange Program, or just the Military Academy, like Hlock mentioned. Can you see that big gate over there?’

Everyone looked where Wisfreya pointed, seeing a closed gate, and nodded, waiting for her to continue. ’As you can see, it is closed. The gate is more like a symbolic thing, as there are no walls connected to it, and you could even walk around the gate itself if you feel like it. However, as long as it doesn’t open, no one is allowed to come talk to the candidates who passed the test. It will not open until everyone down there gets here or fails their test.’

Roan looked at the crowd in the distance, asking. ’Was it them who told you that?’

’No,’ Wisfreya pointed at the first guy who arrived. ’I asked him.’

His name was Fyuki, a cultivator from a nearby country called Wentre. He was really happy at first when the golden light shone around him, even if it was the faintest one. However, after seeing everyone in the twins’ group arriving one after another, he was feeling quite miserable at the moment. Of all the times he could have opted to come and try the test, he just had to select the one time when hell broke loose...

Suddenly, another youngster arrived on the island. However, this one was different from the twins’ group or Fyuki. He was one of those who were not rejected but who had to fly to the Floating Island on their own. The guy looked at the twins’ group and sighed in resignation. If Fyuki was already feeling down because of them, what about him?

Normally, the faster you manage to get to the island, the better you look when you join the academy. He was the fastest, and normally you wouldn’t see anyone with a golden light. This was supposed to be his chance to shine, but now there wasn’t a single eye paying attention to him. The entire crowd in the distance was obviously only looking at the twins’ group.

Slowly but certainly, more and more of the candidates managed to fly to the island. Then, another golden light arrived, this one the same as Fyuki. A Level One Golden Radiance, also known as Flickering Radiance. He, too, seemed to be mostly ignored as he wasn’t anywhere near what the twins’ group displayed.

It took another hour until the last person made it to the Floating Island. Well, to be more specific, the last two... and they looked pretty miserable, a sign they almost failed to make it to the island at all.

”Hahaha!”

*pat, pat, pat!*

Rean patted their shoulder, feeling quite happy.

”What would be of the Magical Eight without the two extras, right? Right?!”

Sure enough, the last two were none other than Gakrid and Rovitel, who, for some reason, didn’t look happy at all with the compliment. ”Are you complimenting us... or having fun at our expense?”

”Both!” Rean answered without a shred of shame.

Gakrid and Rovitel nailed it!

And thus, the Magical Eight... and the two extras, made it to the Divine Military Academy.
