Death… And Me

Chapter 3424: Cutting Off

Rean was quite surprised to see that. Saria had such a high level of Light Element Affinity, so how come she wasn’t able to resist that? Well, he only needed to think about it for a second to understand the two factors that contributed to that outcome. The first one was the sheer amount of Light Element Rean sent into her. Not only did he have the purest Light Element possible, but he could gather more of it than anyone else in that realm.

As for the second factor, it was basically because the Instant Recovery Skill didn’t have a target. That skill was made to heal others, so it would usually concentrate wherever the damage was located, and all its properties would focus there. With nothing to heal, Rean’s ’good feelings’ property of his Light Element was amplified many times on top of the huge burst of Light Element he sent initially, and even poor Saria couldn’t resist it.

Rean quickly retracted his hand, feeling awkward. Well, if he was feeling like that, what to say about Saria?

Her face went completely red, and all the experts around looked at her weirdly.

”Ahem...” One of the elders who kept an eye on the test around the main field approached her. ”Little girl, you and your boyfriend here should wait for a more ’appropriate’ time to do such things.”

Saria just wanted to die already. ”That’s... that was not what you were thinking. I just... just lost my composure for a moment. Senior, this is not going to happen again.”

The elder nodded, trying to look away. ”What are the rest of you looking at? Does that mean you all already got your sect passes to be wasting your time looking at what is happening here? Then you won’t mind if I send you out already, right?”

That elder didn’t need to say that twice. As curious as everyone might be, they wouldn’t risk failing the test just because they wanted to see what caused Saria to let out such a loud moan.

Seeing that everyone left, the elder nodded in satisfaction, leaving the area as well. Now, only Rean, Saria, and the disciple behind the counter remained. Well, the disciple tried to pretend he didn’t see anything.

”You!!!” Sure enough, Saria looked at Rean with such anger that she could skin him alive right there and then.

Rean scratched the back of his head, his index finger pointing downwards with his other hand. ”Err... I would rather take care of all that... errr... wetness... down there first. I can listen to your complaints after that.”

Saria was taken aback and immediately looked down. Sure enough, what Rean caused her to feel must have been truly, truly good. Her red face turned even redder, and she quickly circulated her Divine Energy on that ’part,’ drying and cleaning it completely. ”I hate you!”

Seeing that Saria took care of her body’s ’wet reactions,’ Rean finally looked at her straight. ”I don’t even know what you are complaining about. I’m pretty sure I warned you of what Light Element in abundance could feel like, and you more than anyone else should have known that. Listen, my skill didn’t have an injury to heal, so all of it spread around your body indiscriminately; naturally, your ’sensitive parts’ down there, including a certain ’little protrusion,’ were no exception. You must understand that the more sensitive it is, the more susceptible it becomes towards Light Element... but you definitely know that already, don’t you?”

Rean crossed his arms. ”Also, I seem to recall that I didn’t intend to go all out from the very start. But lo and behold! Didn’t a ’certain someone’ stop me and DEMAND I did my best?” Rean put a lot of emphasis on the word demand there.

”This...” Saria wanted to do nothing more than curse and beat Rean. Unfortunately for her, she truly had no way to answer Rean back. He gave her his warning, she did ask for his best shot, and above all, she was the one who looked confident she could take it all without causing any reactions. It was, without a doubt, totally her fault that such an outcome played out.

”FINE!” As much as she wanted to refute, she didn’t have the right to do so. ”I’m not an idiot, and I do have my pride. It was indeed I who underestimated your capabilities. I’m prepared now, though. Do it again. I will analyze it properly this time.”

”Eh?” Rean didn’t expect that. ”Are you sure?”

”I said I am, so just do it!” Saria simply couldn’t accept that she couldn’t control herself, but... ”Just... hold a little bit back.”

Rean faintly smiled and nodded. ”In that case...”

He once again used his Instant Skill Recovery on her body and only performed to 50% of his ability. Nonetheless, Saria truly underestimated Rean’s capabilities. Although she didn’t make any sounds or got wet anywhere, she had to do her best to resist Rean’s Light Element’s ’good feeling’ since she wasn’t really injured. Nonetheless, part of her concentration was able to focus on Rean’s Instant Recovery skill, and that allowed her to have an idea of what Rean’s healing abilities could really do.

”Impressive...” Saria let Rean’s Light Element dissipate slowly. All her cells felt invigorated to the point they could reproduce countless times faster if necessary. They only didn’t because there wasn’t any reason for them to do so. ”Just what is the secret behind this skill of yours? Even when I add my elf bloodline, I can’t see myself getting anywhere near your capabilities. In my elf race, only the elves at much higher levels can hope to match you, and there aren’t many like that.”

Rean was happy to hear that. ”Really? That’s interesting. Well, this is my own creation, using my understanding of the body as a whole. Everything counts here. Cells, nutrients, elements, energy, connections, etc. If you focus on only one or two of those factors, you can’t really bring out the full potential of a healing skill.”

Saria took a deep breath, her face slowly recovering from its redness. ”I see... I have much to learn, it seems. In any case, you kept your part of the deal, so now it is my time to do the same.”

Rean was waiting for that. ”Great!”

*Swish!*

In the next moment, Rean cut off his own arm, much to Saria and the disciple’s shock. Rean didn’t seem to care, using his control over his body to stop any bleeding and nullify any pain. ”I’m ready. Use your healing skill and try to make my arm grow again.”
