Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Qin Huan, ”Sure.”

Huo Jinnan, ”Sit there, let me give you a shoulder massage.”

Qin Huan sat on a simple chair with a backrest.

Huo Jinnan walked over, his large hands fell on her shoulders, kneading them with just the right amount of force.

Qin Huan couldn’t help but ask, ”Is there anything you’re not good at?”

Huo Jinnan, ”I can’t get pregnant, can’t give birth.”

Qin Huan let out a soft scoff, feeling so comfortable, she leaned back in the chair and closed her eyes.

The room had underfloor heating, perfectly warm, making it so cozy that she fell asleep in no time.

Huo Jinnan, while massaging, heard her gentle breathing, glanced down, ”Asleep?”

Qin Huan, ”...”

Huo Jinnan let go, cradled her in his arms and carried her to the bed, recalling Shen Mubai mentioning that in the late stage of pregnancy, arms are prone to numbness, especially with twins, it could be worse.

His hands landed on Qin Huan’s shoulders, kneading and massaging her arms from top to bottom with a clean, swift technique.

After finishing with her arms, he looked at her bulging belly, softly spoke a few words of sweet nothings to his baby, then noticed fetal movement, kissed the small waves on her belly, starting a parent-child interaction.

After a while, thinking that lying on her back wasn’t good, he glanced at her, one hand supporting the bed, leaned over, just about to pick her up to adjust to a more comfortable position when Qin Huan woke up.

Her eyes were misty as she looked at Huo Jinnan.

Huo Jinnan gently said, ”Lying on your side will be more comfortable.”

Qin Huan looked at Huo Jinnan, and with effort, turned over.

Huo Jinnan helped appropriately, and she changed to lying on her left side, speaking softly:

”Why are you being so nice today?”

Huo Jinnan, ”Been nice all along.”

As soon as he finished speaking, he placed the part of his hand near the pinky finger on Qin Huan’s waist, let his fingers rest naturally, with his elbow slightly bent and wrist rotating back and forth, continuously.

Qin Huan quietly lay there, his movements even and coordinated, ”Will I still have this privilege after the baby is born?”

Huo Jinnan’s voice low and magnetic, ”Yes, then it will be called a bedtime massage.”

Qin Huan smiled at him and closed her eyes again.

Huo Jinnan stayed by their side, watching over them mother and child, with a feeling of time standing still.

After a while, when she was sound asleep, he gently massaged her legs.

After a while, looking at Qin Huan, he softly said, ”Goodnight, my big and little treasures.”

He picked up the remote control, turned off the lights, leaned closer, and gently wrapped his arm around hers, holding her to sleep, being extra cautious not to press on the child in her belly.

After a moment, thinking again, he lowered his arm, keeping a distance from her.

Afraid that if he fell asleep in the middle of the night, he might accidentally press on the child in her belly.

He lay there for a while, unable to sleep, suddenly feeling something wrong, as if something was racing through his veins, frowning tightly, sweating all over. One hand gripped the bed edge hard, the other reached towards the bedside cabinet for the medication bottle, just about to take it out when his hand trembled and it fell to the floor.

Qin Huan woke up startled, turned on the lights, frightened.

Huo Jinnan, fearing she’d worry, remained silent.

Qin Huan, supporting herself on the bed, sat up, saw the medication bottle on the floor, got off the bed, picked it up for him, took out a pill, and brought it to his thin lips.

Huo Jinnan took the medicine, lay there daring not to move, looked at Qin Huan, weakly saying, ”Don’t worry, I’m okay.”
