Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Huo Jinnan glanced sideways at Che Huan, his voice deep and sultry, ”Are you talking about right now?”

Right now?

He meant—

Che Huan caught on and looked at Huo Jinnan, biting her lip and averting her gaze. Their antics weren’t considered carefree and romantic, were they?

In fact, she just wanted to ask who Little Demon’s biological mother was, and if he was the result of a fleeting romance. She wasn’t quite sure how to broach the subject, remembering he had said last time that it wasn’t Gu Yunqing, so it shouldn’t be!

Boys don’t need to be raised too delicately, but they shouldn’t be treated like grass either! Che Huan mentally critiqued and dropped the subject, ”Qiao Qiao mentioned that the little guy is a Little Demon at the hospital.”

Huo Jinnan hummed in response, ”He’s been mischievous since he was little, and the commander is most afraid of him. Huo Minhan loved playing with guns as a child, often menacing the commander with a toy water gun.”

Che Huan could hardly keep from laughing out loud, picturing the commander soaked like a drowned rat. She suddenly recalled the times when the little guy came over, and the commander would change character and hide in the bathroom, refusing to come out—apparently out of fear of the little one!

Back then, she hadn’t even noticed!

Actually, there had been signs all along. She should’ve realized the relationship between him and the little one!

She had been too slow to catch on!

Huo Jinnan saw she enjoyed the stories and continued in a mellow voice, ”Huo Minhan also liked playing darts, making the commander squat there while he threw. It scared the commander so much he’d tremble, and once he accidentally hit the commander’s tail. After that, it refused to play along.”

A tail!

That must’ve hurt, right?

She suddenly felt so sympathetic for the commander—Little Demon was truly rascally!

Huo Jinnan went on about Little Demon singeing the commander’s tail with a lighter and wetting it.

Che Huan couldn’t help but chuckle at the mischievousness she hadn’t expected from the little guy. No wonder Qiao Qiao and the others called him Little Demon. ”And at the Army Hospital?”

Huo Jinnan held Che Huan’s hand on his knee, ”Defiant and sharp-tongued, often reducing the young nurses to tears, teasing them about not even filling an A-cup, and having no right to act cute or coquettish.”

”...”

Che Huan laughed, amazed that someone so young knew so much. And he knew about cup sizes—was it taught by example?

Huo Jinnan’s fingertips rested on the back of her hand, ”Once, Huo Minhan intentionally stained a nurse’s trousers with red paint, embarrassing her in front of everyone and scaring her off work for a whole week.”

Che Huan listened, her forehead sweating at the thought—staining trousers red seemed rather suggestive...

It was truly awful. If it had been her, she might never dare to go to work again, not just for a week!

Could it be that he inherited this trait from his father?

Looking at Huo Jinnan, he didn’t seem to be that kind of person!

Fortunately, Little Demon had never treated her that way, or she really couldn’t have handled it.

Huo Jinnan’s gaze settled on Che Huan’s face, ”But you are an exception. He really likes you.”

Likes her?

Indeed, she suddenly felt a sense of relief, as lucky as an ancient concubine chosen by the Emperor.

But, did he pay attention to her just because Little Demon liked her?

Che Huan looked at Huo Jinnan, a knot forming in her heart.

Although Little Demon always complained about his dad, it didn’t seem like Huo Jinnan genuinely didn’t care about him; especially with the way he spoke just now, it was clear he had a paternal affection, even if not adept at expressing it. Was it just his nature?

Thinking about Little Demon’s biological mother made her suddenly anxious.

Those types of plots were all too common in novels, chilling to even think about!

”I... I don’t happen to look a bit like Little Demon’s biological mom, do I?”

She bit her lip, regretting her words as soon as they left her mouth. Wishing to take them back but unable to, her fingers nervously twisted her dress, damp with sweat.
