Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Qin Shaojin ”Hmm”ed in acknowledgement, understanding that the ”he” Huo Jinnan referred to was the old patriarch of the Huo Family.

He looked down, picked up the bottle of red wine beside him, and poured a glass for Huo Jinnan, his long fingers pinching the stem of the glass as he looked on.

Huo Jinnan raised his hand, elegantly holding the wine and clinked glasses lightly with Qin Shaojin, took a sip, and set it aside.

Qin Shaojin put down his wine glass and turned to Shen You and Yu Zimu, ”How has business been recently?”

Yu Zimu glanced in Huo Jinnan’s direction, ”With Brother Huo presiding over matters, how can business be anything but good?”

Huo Jinnan lit a cigarette, took a drag, and held it between his fingers, his gaze dropping to the sparks at the end of the cigarette.

Huo Bei chimed in from the side, ”Yu Shao, the old man has been looking into Mr. Gu recently, you should be cautious.”

Yu Zimu blew a smoke ring, ”Rest assured, he won’t find anything. The old man probably never dreamed that Brother Huo is now worth billions. In contrast, Gu Jizhou, whom he devoted all his efforts to, is utterly useless.”

Qin Shaojin, standing by, looked at Huo Jinnan.

Huo Jinnan did not speak, the corner of his lips betraying a faint curve.

Seeing the others getting down to business and when things were nearly settled, he stood up, ”I’ll head back first, you guys enjoy.”

Upon returning to Nanyuan Villa, when he saw the old man’s car parked at the entrance, his eyes darkened considerably. He paused for a moment then stepped inside, and saw the Huo family patriarch sitting on the sofa.

The patriarch sat on the sofa with a very unhappy expression on his face.

Huo Jinnan glanced at Uncle Lu, ”Where is Huo Minhan?”

”The young master is upstairs.”

Uncle Lu stood there, observing the patriarch’s complexion and didn’t dare to say that as soon as the old man had entered the door, the young master had said, ”Uncle Lu, it’s too noisy here; I’m hurt and need to rest. Go ahead and attend to the guests first!”

Then he left the old man behind and went upstairs back to his room.

Huo Jinnan did not say anything, but looked toward the patriarch, ”Grandfather, what brings you here?”

The old man rubbed his temples, anger rising involuntarily, ”What exactly happened today? I heard Xiaowei was kidnapped!”

”Yes.”

Huo Jinnan sat on the sofa, crossed his long legs, and elegantly positioned the hand holding the cigarette on his knee, exuding an air of cold elegance.

Xiaowei was kidnapped, and Anan still seemed so indifferent?

The old man frowned in displeasure, ”Anan, even if Xiaowei is Yunqing’s child, you can’t disregard Xiaowei like this just because of Yunqing.”

”Disregard?”

Huo Jinnan repeated with a questioning tone, looking at the old man.

Feeling that his tone was a bit harsh, the old patriarch tried to keep his emotions in check, ”Anan...”

”It’s late, Grandfather should head back and rest.” Huo Jinnan withdrew his gaze, tapping the ash into the ashtray, ”Once the case is clear, we’ll discuss it in detail.”

”Are you rushing Grandfather out the door?”

The old man stood up, gripping his cane.

Huo Jinnan stood up, ready to show him out, ”Grandfather is old and should not stay up late.”

”Uncle Guan!”

The old man called out.

Uncle Guan hurried over to support the old man.

The old man clattered out the door with his cane.

Huo Jinnan watched the old man’s retreating figure, ”Uncle Lu, see them out.”

Uncle Lu responded and followed the old man and Uncle Guan out the door.

Huo Jinnan turned and climbed the stairs, stopping a few steps up upon seeing a small figure peeking out from the stairway.

The little one was dressed in pajamas, pursing his lips, ”Gone?”

Huo Jinnan responded with a ”Hmm.”

The small figure looked at him for a moment, ”Let’s talk.”
