Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Having put away the interspatial ring now filled to the brim with Purple Poison Grass, Xuan Hao turned his attention back towards the plain filled with the poisonous grass in front of him.

Even after he had filled up an entire interspatial ring with Purple Poison Grass, the plain itself did not seem to show much of a change other than a small empty patch located around the edge of it where Xuan Hao had taken the Purple Poison Grass from.

”Hm?”

However, when looking towards the small patch where he had forcefully pulled up the poisonous spiritual grass from, Xuan Hao could not help frowning after noticing thousands upon thousands of snakes slithering around on the ground that was now completely barren.

Even when he had pulled out the Purple Poison Grass from the ground, he had not noticed the fact that there was so many snakes hiding beneath the poisonous grass. From this, it was obvious that they had some way to avoid his divine sense... Not only that, but all the snakes below him had actually reached the Nascent Soul Realm!

Just the small spot Xuan Hao had emptied of Purple Poison Grass had hidden away tens of thousands of these snakes, as for the entire plain... There were easily millions of snakes!

No matter what, Xuan Hao could not help feeling confused as to why there would be so many Nascent Soul Realm snakes present beneath the poisonous grass. In the first place, how did so many snakes even manage to reach the Nascent Soul Realm in the first place?

Swish~!

As he was looking towards the snakes slithering around on the ground below filled with confusion, the sound of something piercing through the air could be heard in the distance before a large shadowy figure soon appeared at the edge of Xuan Hao’s divine sense rushing directly towards him.

”A snake... ball? Humanoid? Eh... I don’t even know...” Muttering this to himself as he looked towards the shadowy figure, Xuan Hao had no idea how to describe what was hidden beneath the shadowy mist that gave the shadowy figure its humanoid shape.

As for preparing to fight the incoming shadowy figure? Xuan Hao did not really care too much about this, as even after all the snakes forming the shadowy figure had combined their strength, they had only barely reached a level comparable to the Fourth Stage of the Domain Lord Realm.

With Xuan Hao’s current strength, the shadowy figure that barely had enough strength to be comparable to someone in the Fourth Stage of the Domain Lord Realm, did not pose the slightest bit of threat to the current Xuan Hao!

Whoosh~!

Bang!

Watching as the shadowy figure got within a few hundred meters of him before it gathered its strength together to launch an attack towards him, Xuan Hao simply used his to engulf the shadowy figure before directly crushing it. Not allowing the snakes on the inside to resist for even a second!

”How weird... None of the snakes seem to have any soul inside them. Almost like they are already dead...”

Frowning to himself as he looked towards the place where the shadowy figure had just been destroyed by him, Xuan Hao soon turned his attention towards the snakes slithering around below him.

Different from the snakes that had been inside the shadowy figure, Xuan Hao could tell at a glance that the soul inside the snakes slithering around below was still intact.

Do the snakes lose their souls after they transform into the shadowy figures?

Thinking this to himself, Xuan Hao could not help feeling even more curious about where he had ended up being teleported by the ancient teleportation artifact.

The only thing he understood about his new location so far, was that he should either be in some kind of special area that was located inside the Great Poison Swamp, or in the worst-case scenario, somewhere inside the dangerous ruins of the ancient sect located right next to the Great Poison Swamp.

”Hm?”

However, just at this moment, Xuan Hao saw a new quest appearing in front of him from the system that had remained inactive for quite some time.

[Side Quest: Escape]

[Description: Explore the ruins of the long-forgotten sect in front of you and look for a way to escape before dying.]

[Reward: Staying alive, Great Poison Scripture]

Looking at the quest that had appeared after a long time, Xuan Hao had no idea what to say.

At least from the quest’s description, he could tell that he had indeed been teleported inside the dangerous area that contained the ruins of an ancient sect and the fact that he would die if he did not escape from the place in time.

Not only that, but the quest had also clearly stated that he would have to explore the ruins of the ancient sect, that should be located somewhere on the other side of the plain filled with snakes and poisonous grass, to find a way out.

Whoosh-!

Not wasting any time after understanding that his life was in danger even according to his usually lazy system, Xuan Hao didn’t cast a second glance towards the snakes on the ground below as he flew over the poisonous grass plain towards the ancient sect ruins that should be located at the end of the plain.

...

Wha- What in the world are those snakes doing all of a sudden!? Why did all of them suddenly start moving around so frantically!?

At the same time Xuan Hao killed the shadowy figure made up of snakes, the young boy who had been trying his best to leave the ruins he found himself inside of, could not help shivering all over when he suddenly saw the calm shadowy figures getting chaotic.

Swish~!

BOOOOM-!

Seeing a weird green cloud of air fly past him while only narrowly missing him before exploding into an inferno more than powerful enough to kill him, the young boy could not help shivering even more violently as he wondered what had caused all of the shadowy figures to behave so chaotically all of a sudden.

Everything was fine just a second ago! Could it be something happened at the place where they are all moving...?

At this point in time, the young boy had already realized that the shadowy figures should not be going to the same location as where he had showed up and should be going somewhere different. After all, if they were really all moving to the place where he had appeared to search for him, he was certain that they would have already realized he was missing and would have come to catch him.

For this reason, the young boy had concluded that the shadowy figures were moving somewhere different deeper inside the ruins.

As for why they ignored him... He had no idea. Not that he was one to complain about this in the first place...

Boom-boom-boom!

Hearing more and more explosions going off in the distance, the young boy could not help pushing himself to increase his speed just a little further to try and escape the dangerous ruins as quickly as possible. Wanting nothing more than to get out of the dangerous ruins and reunite with his senior brother and senior sister again.

”Ah?”

Just at this moment, the young boy felt several terrifying auras engulfing his body from afar. Instantly making him come to a stop as all colour drained from his face.

I’m dead!

Only able to think this as he felt the terrifying auras wash over him, the young boy had already resigned to his death after feeling the power contained in those auras.

Even if he had no idea what kind of realm the auras belonged to, the young boy had once seen the sect master of his sect in person and even he was inferior to these auras!

It had to be known, that his sect master was someone who had already reached the Peak of the Domain Lord Realm. For the auras to be even above such a person, the young boy could only think of a realm that he had never seen before and could only dream of reaching. The Soul Ascension Realm!

If he was not wrong, the auras that had engulfed him belonged to someone who had reached the Soul Ascension Realm!

Swish-!

Swish-!

Swish-!

Hearing the sound of the wind being torn apart, the young boy trembled violently as he saw several black shadow passing by him before disappearing from sight the next second.

Even if he did not see them clearly, the young boy clearly realized that the terrifying auras he had just felt a second ago belonged to the black shadows that had just rushed past him before disappearing.

”J-just what in the world happened...?”

Unknowingly muttering this to himself as he looked in the direction that the black shadows had disappeared in, the young boy remained silent for the next few minutes before finally working up enough courage to continue along the path. Doing his best not to think too much about what happened and instead focusing on escaping before he ran out of detoxification pills.
