Checking in for 100,000 Years

Chapter 242: Chapter 242: Demon Ancestor, The Little Follower from a Hundred Thousand Years Ago

Ye Yun closed his eyes.

In his mind, an image of a charming and lovely girl suddenly appeared. This lively and waggish girl had two pigtails on her head and loved to wear peach-pink dresses. Every day, she loved to follow him around, trailing closely behind.

Despite her cute and charming appearance, she had an incredibly fiery temper.

She constantly declared her intention to drive away all the beautiful women around Ye Yun. She wanted to monopolize this strongest man on the Cangnan Continent.

Back then, Ye Yun was bossy and domineering. How could he allow Yun Xiao to have her way?

So, most of the time, Ye Yun would discipline Yun Xiao. Sometimes, when irritated, he would grab Yun Xiao and spank her bottom, making the little girl wail.

At that time, Yun Xiao was merely a cultivator at the Life and Death Realm, still a great distance from the Eternal Realm.

However, Yun Xiao was not a cultivator of the Human Race, but a member of the Demon Clan. In Ye Yun’s eyes, she was just an arrogant and unruly little demon.

As a transmigrator, Ye Yun carried no prejudice against the Demon Clan. Having watched dramas such as *The Legend of White Snake*, which featured Xu Xian and Lady White Snake, and *A Chinese Ghost Story*, Ye Yun naturally viewed beautiful women of the Demon Clan no differently than others.

What Ye Yun did not expect was that a hundred thousand years later, the little Yun Xiao had become the Demon Ancestor spoken of by later generations.

He couldn’t help but sigh at the changes wrought by time, which were truly unpredictable.

It seemed that Yun Xiao had later cultivated to the Eternal Realm, and not just an ordinary one.

To become the Demon Ancestor, she must have reached at least the ninth layer of the Eternal Realm.

Although the lifespan of the Demon Clan was extremely long, it was absolutely impossible for them to live for a hundred thousand years.

Ye Yun sighed softly, standing silently in the carriage. An ancient painting brought back memories of events from long ago. He stood there blankly, as if time around him had reversed, and he had returned to a hundred thousand years ago.

...

To tell the truth, a hundred thousand years ago, when I was young and vigorous, I was indeed very arrogant. It was far preferable to the profound loneliness my invincibility brought me a hundred thousand years later.

「In the grand hall.」

The gold-robed man looked at the two great demons of the Eternal Realm in the distance. When he saw they did not kneel before the Demon Ancestor, he grew furious and scolded coldly, ”Why don’t you two kneel when you see the Demon Ancestor?”

Big Black Horse paused for a moment, then chuckled, ”Why should I kneel? I don’t even know her.”

”Yeah, you say she’s some Demon Ancestor, but we don’t know her. Why should we kneel before her? Is your old head waterlogged?” the Bloody Overlord Demonic Dragon also chuckled coldly.

”You!” The gold-robed man trembled with anger.

He hadn’t expected these two great demons to play dumb, showing no respect at all for the Demon Ancestor.

It was known that throughout the entire Cangnan Continent, any member of the Demon Clan had to kneel in reverence before this ancient painting once it appeared. After all, tens of thousands of years ago, during the Great War between the Human Race and the Demon Clan, Demon Ancestor Yunxiao Empress single-handedly turned the tide. Her actions preserved many bloodlines of the Demon Clan.

”Truly, the times have changed, and people’s hearts are unfathomable.”

The gold-robed man suddenly chuckled coldly. With a series of hand seals, he cast a spell that shot a beam of light into the ancient painting.

The ancient painting suddenly shone brightly. The figure within it seemed to come alive, appearing incredibly vivid.

Then, they saw the woman in the ancient painting gracefully walk out of it.

Upon her appearance, a mighty pressure immediately filled the entire hall.

Big Black Horse was greatly alarmed. He realized the woman before him had reached the tenth layer of the Eternal Realm.

The Bloody Overlord Demonic Dragon was also stunned. He hadn’t expected the woman in the painting to possess such a high cultivation base.

Her eyes were exceptionally cold, as if everything in the world was merely lifeless to her. She looked down at the two great demons below and said coldly, ”You two little demons, why do you not kneel upon seeing this Empress?”

”Why should I kneel?” Big Black Horse said stubbornly, showing not a hint of fear.

”Since you refuse to kneel, then don’t blame this Empress for being impolite,” the woman in green said coldly.

She extended a slender finger, which glowed with intense light, and slowly pointed it towards Big Black Horse.

The immense pressure immobilized Big Black Horse; even the Bloody Overlord Demonic Dragon was suppressed at this moment. The two could only watch helplessly as the finger moved towards them.

The gold-robed man watched this scene, his face filled with joyous surprise.

The ancestors were right! The ancient painting indeed contained a wisp of Mother Yunxiao’s will, meant to help their Sky Spirit Cat clan through their most perilous tribulations.

Just as the gold-robed man believed the two Eternal Realm great demons were about to perish, he suddenly found himself frozen in place.

He wasn’t the only one frozen. Everyone around them was trapped in a similar state of dreamlike stillness.

Suddenly, a figure in white appeared.

”Xiao Yunxiao, has it been too long since your bottom was spanked?”

Ye Yun appeared opposite Yun Xiao, raising a hand to block her slender, jade-like finger.

”And who might you be?”

Yun Xiao gazed coldly at the figure in white, her eyes showing no sign of recognition.

”You don’t recognize me?”

Ye Yun was astonished. He hadn’t expected that after a hundred thousand years, Yun Xiao wouldn’t recognize him. What on earth had happened in the meantime?

He stared intently at Yun Xiao’s devastatingly beautiful face. When he saw the hint of extreme heartlessness hidden deep within her eyes, he seemed to understand something.

”Yun Xiao, did you really cultivate the Supreme Forgetting Emotions Path?” Ye Yun asked, his heart aching.

Yun Xiao’s cold eyes narrowed slightly. Staring at the white-robed man before her, she fired off a series of questions: ”Who exactly are you? Why do you know my name? And how do you know I cultivate the Supreme Forgetting Emotions Path?”

”I am Ye Yun,” he said, his voice tinged with a certain anguish, as he slowly walked towards the illusory body formed from a wisp of will.

”You’re Ye Yun? That name...” Yun Xiao’s eyes glazed over for an instant, a flicker of confusion in them.

She vaguely recalled hearing this name somewhere, sometime. It felt as if this name was hidden away in a corner of her heart.

But then, an instinctive coldness welled up from the depths of her heart, ruthlessly stifling that nascent emotion.

Ye Yun slowly walked until he stood before Yun Xiao, the two facing each other in the air.

Gazing at this familiar face, Ye Yun was filled with a myriad of emotions, sighing inwardly.

He slowly reached out his hand, wanting to gently ruffle her hair.

”Get away from me! Don’t touch me!” Yun Xiao roared, her hand striking out like a knife, slashing mercilessly towards Ye Yun.

Her jade-white palm radiated an astonishingly sharp intent, like a flash of white light, a blade striking for Ye Yun’s chest.

”Still so naughty. It seems I really should spank your bottom...” Ye Yun chuckled.

He smiled and gently blew a breath. This breath, arriving later yet striking first, actually pushed Yun Xiao’s body back into the ancient painting.

Ye Yun reached out and put away the scroll painting.

This Yun Xiao in the scroll was just a wisp of will. He couldn’t let her make a move; he couldn’t waste the energy of this will. It was better to return her to the scroll as quickly as possible. This way, he could allow this wisp of Yun Xiao’s will to last a little longer.
