Checking in for 100,000 Years

Chapter 213: Chapter 213: The Bad Idea of the Big Black Horse

Outside the Nine Soul Underground Palace.

All the members of the Demon Clan stared at each other in disbelief, witnessing the sudden disappearance of the Nine-tailed Spirit Cat and the Sky Spirit Cat.

”Where did they go?”

Under the very eyes of tens of thousands of great demons, the Nine-tailed Spirit Cat and the Sky Spirit Cat had suddenly, miraculously vanished into the void, leaving no trace behind.

”Someone rescued them,” the Dragon Lord said grimly.

”Hmph! Don’t let me find you, Nine-tailed Spirit Cat! Our score will be settled sooner or later!” the Golden Winged Roc roared beside him.

The Nine-tailed Fox Demon also looked exceedingly gloomy, a chilling aura emanating from her. She had originally planned to seize the fortuitous opportunity on the Nine-tailed Spirit Cat, but unexpectedly, the two had been spirited away without her noticing. The other party’s methods were too profound; it must have been a powerhouse from the Life and Death Realm who intervened.

”Let’s go! Let’s go!” Some of the Divine Bridge Realm demons saw this, shook their heads, and left.

And some great demons of the Destiny Realm also suddenly found it dull and, one after another, tore through the void and departed.

The Dragon Lord, helpless, his face ashen, grunted in frustration and also departed.

The last to leave was the Golden Striped Black Tiger. Before leaving, he viciously slashed his saber into the ground, carving out a deep trench to vent his anger.

...

Over by the carriage.

The Big Black Horse noticed several cracks on the Black Shield and couldn’t help but pout. ”Little Cat, it seems it was quite perilous in there, for the shield I gave you to be damaged to this extent.”

Upon hearing Uncle Ma’s words, the Big Black Cat immediately wailed, ”Yes! Uncle Ma, it was incredibly dangerous in there! There was a strange golden humanoid creature that was terrifyingly powerful.”

At this point, the Big Black Cat recounted everything that had happened inside the Nine Soul Underground Palace from beginning to end.

Hearing this, the Big Black Horse also felt his heart pound with alarm. Based on his cultivation base and knowledge, the Big Black Horse knew there had to be an entity at the True God Realm inside. He later learned that the Big Black Cat seemed to have no memory of what had transpired in the main hall. The Big Black Horse then knew the Master must have intervened—though this was something he wouldn’t tell the Big Black Cat. If the Master hadn’t intervened, the Big Black Cat would likely have perished within the Nine Soul Underground Palace.

The Big Black Horse opened his mouth, sucked the Eternal Life Immortal Grass in, smacked his lips a few times, chewed it with relish, and then swallowed it. This Eternal Life Immortal Grass was a good thing; he definitely wouldn’t miss out.

WHOOSH!

As the Eternal Life Immortal Grass entered his stomach, a surging wave of vitality erupted from within him, rushing towards his vital organs and meridians.

”BURP!”

The Big Black Horse let out a contented burp, feeling that the taste of this Eternal Life Immortal Grass was simply wonderful.

”Little Cat, give me the shield. Uncle Ma will repair it for you,” the Big Black Horse said with a grin.

The Big Black Cat promptly handed over the Black Shield. The Big Black Horse sucked the Black Shield into his mouth, chewed it a few times, and then spat it out. The moment it was spat out, the Black Shield was as good as new, all the cracks on it having vanished completely.

Receiving the shield, the Big Black Cat was overjoyed and thanked him profusely.

The Big Black Horse smacked his lips, flashing a set of big white teeth. He glanced sideways at the pretty Sky Spirit Cat nearby and chuckled teasingly, ”Little Cat, you’re quite something, even managed to bring a wife back.”

The Big Black Cat immediately shook his head and said awkwardly, ”Uncle Ma, please don’t misunderstand. This isn’t my wife; she’s someone else’s wife.”

”Someone else’s wife, what did you bring her here for? You’re really skilled at poaching, aren’t you?” The Big Black Horse chuckled.

Cat Bao’er, standing beside them, blushed crimson and lowered her head, too shy to speak. Seeing how respectfully the Nine-tailed Spirit Cat treated this Big Black Horse, she knew this Senior Big Black Horse must possess an astonishingly high cultivation base.

In that moment, Cat Bao’er couldn’t help but become intensely curious about the identity of the Master in white within the carriage. Who on earth were these people? Not only were their origins shrouded in mystery, but each of them also possessed an unimaginably powerful cultivation base.

”Hehe!” The Big Black Cat, who was being continuously teased by Uncle Ma, gave an embarrassed laugh this time. He explained, ”Uncle Ma, Cat Bao’er is the Golden Striped Black Tiger’s fiancée, but she doesn’t want to marry him, so she ran away. Unexpectedly, she ran right into me.”

The Big Black Horse squinted, chuckling. ”I think you two are a good match. Both cat folk, a pair made in heaven, eh?”

The Big Black Cat shook his head repeatedly and declared loudly, ”Uncle Ma, I’m not looking for any Dao companion! If I were to find one, they’d have to at least cultivate to your realm!”

”HAHA!” At that, the Big Black Horse burst out laughing, pursed his lips, and said no more.

The Big Black Cat put away the Black Shield, then pulled Cat Bao’er onto the carriage. With a shake of his body, he transformed back into a large black cat, lazily sprawling on top of the carriage.

Cat Bao’er stared at the Nine-tailed Spirit Cat, completely bewildered.

The Big Black Cat hastily urged her, ”Hurry up and transform! Are you planning to stay in human form?”

Cat Bao’er was stunned for a moment, then asked somewhat naively, ”Big Brother, why do we have to turn into cats?”

The Big Black Cat was taken aback by the question and retorted, flustered and exasperated, ”Those are the rules! Hurry up and stop wasting time with nonsense!”

Left with no choice, Cat Bao’er transformed. A flash of light passed, and she turned into a large white cat, also sprawling on the carriage, less than a foot away from the Big Black Cat.

The Big Black Horse turned his head to look. Seeing a black and a white cat lounging on the carriage was indeed a very pleasing sight. He couldn’t help but smack his lips and chuckle a couple of times.

”TSK TSK... Such a perfect match. If you two don’t become Dao companions, then becoming sworn siblings would also be fine.” The Big Black Horse chimed in with another bad idea.

The Big Black Cat kept shaking his head. ”Uncle Ma, Cat Bao’er is engaged. I wouldn’t dare touch a single hair on her.”

”So, if she weren’t engaged, you’d dare to touch her then?” The Big Black Horse immediately put the Big Black Cat on the spot.

”Engaged or not, I wouldn’t touch her! Until I’ve cultivated to Uncle Ma’s realm, I won’t consider romantic entanglements,” the Big Black Cat said with a solemn expression.

Cat Bao’er, blushing beside him, her heart thumping wildly, didn’t know what to say.

After a short while, she suddenly remembered something and asked softly, ”Big Brother, didn’t you promise me you’d get Stupid and Naïve to call off the engagement? Did you forget?”

The Big Black Cat raised his cat paw and slapped his forehead, exclaiming in realization, ”Oh dear, I completely forgot! Things were a bit hectic back then, and it totally slipped my mind.”

”In that case, Big Brother, why don’t we pay a visit to the Golden Striped Black Tiger clan to call off this engagement? What do you think?” Cat Bao’er asked, her face full of hope.

”Call off the engagement... Well, that’s not really a problem. But Cat Bao’er, you should know that without the Master’s permission, I can’t just go out as I please,” the Big Black Cat said, shaking his head awkwardly.

”Oh, is that so!” Disappointment clouded Cat Bao’er’s face.

Inside the carriage, Ye Yun watched the two cats and the horse bickering playfully, a relaxed smile gracing his lips.

The top of the carriage is quite spacious. Adding another white cat would indeed make for a very pleasing sight.

At this moment, Ye Yun decided to take this little Sky Spirit Cat in.

He lifted the door curtain and stepped out.

”Master!” Hearing the movement, the Big Black Cat quickly greeted him respectfully.

Cat Bao’er, knowing how incredibly powerful this Master in white was, also hurriedly greeted him respectfully.

”Little White Cat, dissolving your engagement isn’t difficult. Are you willing to join our Dragon God Sect?” Ye Yun asked, standing with his hands behind his back, a gentle smile on his face as he looked at the Sky Spirit Cat.

”Join the Dragon God Sect?” Cat Bao’er was stunned.

She had heard of a Dragon God Sect in the Heavenly Star Dynasty, but it was merely a low-grade major sect, far, far inferior to her Sky Spirit Cat Clan. If she were to join the Dragon God Sect, would she be expelled from her clan by the clan ancestors?
