Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension

Chapter 45: Chapter 44:Flipping Worlview..

Gently. Slowly. I composed myself.

My list of people to murder just got more dangerous.

I didn’t have time to cry, I didn’t have time to mourn, I had to get myself back together, no matter how impossible that felt..

So, choking down my sobs, I called out to my weeping aunt..

”Aunt V.” My voice was subdued, vulnerable in a way I’d never heard before..

She noticed.

Her hug tightening around me..

”Yes little D?” Her hoarse voice answered me..

”If they could find dad, then what about me?” I asked.

I had to know.

If the Draken family could find my father, if they could meticulously plan to get him killed like so, then it was illogical to leave me be..

”Pull out the roots” that’s what most would do..

But the moment I asked that question..

The atmosphere chilled...

If earlier, my rage had felt like the roaring of the heavens, this felt different..

It felt like the world had been plunged into the deepest layers of hell..

A chill crawled up my spine.

My blood slowed.

My very perception of reality seemed to distort from the overwhelming killing intent that bled into the atmosphere..

My danger sense were screaming at me to get away from the monster holding me..

”They can try, but not before I make sure to bury every. single. last. one. of. those. dogs..” her voice sounded like something that crawled out from the forgotten abyss...

Lifeless, devoid of feeling..

I looked up and her expression was horrifying...

Her eyes had gone pitch black, absorbing the very light around us, space bent and cracked around her, her lips drawn into an eerie smile, one that promised death in horrible ways I wasn’t sure I should even ask about..

Yet strangely, the fear was merely instinctive, because all I could feel was warmth.

Yes. It’s always been so. I could always rely on my aunt v.

My heart settled, the gloom from earlier somewhat lightening...

”Hoooo...” I breathed out. Composing myself.

”Tell me about my bloodlines then. What do you know about them.” I asked, finally leaving the depressing subject..

I wasn’t fine. Far from it.

But I wasn’t going to let sadness and pain hinder me.

No!

They were going to be the fuel that kept me running. Running until the day I finally get my sweet revenge..

But for that, I needed to understand.. needed to know just what I was dealing with here and all that starts with understanding just what the hell my old man sealed within me..

”Hooo....” I could feel her retracting her aura, taking a deep breath as she composed herself..

”Your father told me very little about your bloodline. All he ever said to me was that your Draken bloodline was unlike anything this world had ever seen..

It was so powerful it had to be sealed just to make sure you survived bearing it”..

”As the the other one, he himself had no idea what it was, it was fragment he found in an ancient ruin, it resonated with your blood, so he’d tried assimilating it with you, to see if it could balance your unstable Draken bloodline, turns out it was even more unpredictable and dangerous than your original bloodline so he sealed both of them.”

”He said they’ll be unseals slowly when you get stronger..” she concluded in one breath..

”What?” I was shocked..

I needed affirmation.

System..

[Ding]

[Affiremed. Information received is accurate”

That confirmed it, but my shock didn’t lessen, it increased unsteady, because if I could then..

There weren’t bloodlines that powerful..

Even those legendary SSS-ranked bloodlines didn’t threaten their wielders..

She seemed to read the confusion on my face clearly...

”Sigh... I told you not to let this backwater place limit your thinking little d..” she sighed, adjusting her posture softly on the bed as she got into information mode..

”The ranks and grades you’re used to. The ones you’ve been taught about throughout your stay at the institution, they are not the limit..” she begun by saying.

I wasn’t shocked, at least not completely.

It would’ve have been a lackluster transmigration if a world whose continents alone were twice the size of earth, only had SSS-rank it’s peak..

It didn’t fit any fantasy lore I was aware of...

”This place praises S~SSS-ranks as some mythic entities, but the earlier you get that misconception out of your head, the better it’ll be for you”..

I was listening now. It was time to know just what the limits of this world truly were..

”Bloodlines and Talents from the trashiest F-ranks to the ”mythical” SSS-ranks, are only known as Mortal Bloodlines...

Beyond those, we have Immortal Grade bloodlines..

Beyond that, Transcendent Bloodlines..

Beyond that, Celestial Bloodlines..

And then finally, Divine Bloodlines...

Divine Bloodline wielders are the true monsters of this world as they’re all unparalleled in their generation..

Your father was one such prodigy...”

I was shocked... genuinely this time..

Here I was, scrubbing it out with Micheal who was only wielding an SS rank bloodline and talent, not even a peak mortal bloodline, and yet I’m being told that my prime targets have people that wielded divine bloodlines?

”What the hell even is a divine bloodline?” I couldn’t help asking, because just what the fuck is this exposure? Shouldn’t you take it slow? How many Chapters into the novel have we gotten? How the fuck are we already dealing with divine bloodlines in just 40-something Chapters? Do you even have a story left?

I was spiraling because what the actual fuck?

”They’re exactly what they sound like, bloodlines that transcend the limits of reality, granting you godlike abilities” aunt v’s response wasn’t quite comforting...

”So there are divine grade talents too is what you’re telling me?” I couldn’t help asking..

”Hehehehe, of course, your dad had one too,” she laughed..

”Fuck. That’s some protagonist level type shit” I couldn’t help muttering.

”But you don’t have to be so down..”

”After all, divine grade bloodline and talent wielders are something only seen once in a lifetime. Your dad was the last one known to the hidden forces of the world” she tried comforting me.

”That’s quit very comforting aunt v..” I groaned..

”I know, but the point here is, if you limit yourself to thinking your opponents are people with merely SS-grade or SSS-rank talents and bloodline, then Aeternum is going to eat you alive”

”After all, Immortal grade geniuses a common there, only those wielding Transcendent Grade bloodlines or talents or both, can qualify to be called ”Prodigies” and as for the ”monsters” let’s hope you don’t meet them until you’re ready, although I doubt that’s possible..” she sighed at the end..

I absorbed it in..

Every word she just said..

The world just got bigger in one sitting..

I’d almost been murked by a creature that probably didn’t have anything higher than an SS-rank bloodline and talent and yet I’m planning to get vengeance on people who have monsters with abilities beyond my imagination?

”Hooooo... breathe Dante ..” I looked at my hands, steady. No fear. In fact, I could feel a faint stirring of excitement within me..

I’d been worried the game would become easy too quickly, but my issue had just been resolved..

”One step at a time.” My fists clenched..

”The plan hasn’t changed..

Devour more!

Acquire more!

Get stronger

Repeat...”

Do this until I reach that point when my opponents stopped mattering and then. Only then. Do I take back everything once stolen from me.

My resolve settled as aunt V continued her briefing.

My mind already moving towards my next goal.

Seeing what I’d get from devouring a flipping dragon for the very first time...
