Celestial Beast Taming

Chapter 268: Chapter 167: A Six-Finger Creator at the Threshold

Tao En’s words brought a look of utter shock to Zhong Yi’s face.

Seeing the shock on Zhong Yi’s face, Tao En smiled.

Throughout his interactions with Zhong Yi, Tao En had always felt the young man was far too mature for his age.

The moment he saw Zhong Yi’s unguarded expression of surprise, Tao En felt the young man had become more real in his eyes.

’So this kid *can* lose his composure after all!’

Previously, Tao En had never told anyone he had once successfully concocted a Sixth Level Potion.

Burdened by a blood feud ever since he was a Three-finger Creator, Tao En had made it a habit to hide all his trump cards.

After his soul was injured, Tao En had considered revealing this secret to the Celestial Destiny Seekers of Longya City.

But once he was certain his injuries were irreversible, Tao En dismissed the idea.

Because if Cao Xing’an learned he had nearly reached the threshold of a Six-finger Creator, Cao Xing’an would never have allowed him to live.

After enduring for over a decade, Tao En had finally met someone with whom he could safely share his achievements and joy.

Regardless of what the young man before him thought, Tao En, at least, trusted him completely.

Zhong Yi took a long moment to compose himself before asking Tao En a question.

”Master Tao En, you said you’ve concocted a Sixth Level Potion before. May I ask which one it was?”

Upon hearing this, Tao En retrieved a bottle of a very thick, dark red Potion from his Soul Base and handed it to Zhong Yi.

As the Potion swirled within the Crystal Bottle, it glowed with a brilliant, flame-like radiance.

Zhong Yi recognized it at a glance—this was a Fire Dragon Potion!

”Young Master, the main ingredient for this Potion is a Dragon Crystal from a Fire Element Main Dragon.

”I happened to have enough of the materials on hand, so I gave it a try.”

”Some problems arose during the process, but luckily I salvaged it in time. If I hadn’t, the Potion would have been a failure.”

”After I unexpectedly succeeded in concocting this Fire Dragon Potion, I acquired two more Dragon Crystals from Fire Attribute Main Dragons.”

”But my next two attempts to concoct a Fire Dragon Potion failed for various reasons.”

Zhong Yi took the Fire Dragon Potion from Tao En and examined it closely.

This was the first time since his transmigration that Zhong Yi had held a genuine, bona fide Sixth Level Potion.

In this real Guardian Beast World, Zhong Yi had never come across a Sixth Level Potion.

But in the game, Zhong Yi knew the name of practically every Sixth Level Potion.

The Fire Dragon Potion requires over 240 different ingredients, making it one of the simplest among all Sixth Level Potions.

It’s considered the litmus test for a Sixth Level Creator’s abilities!

If Tao En hadn’t concocted this Fire Dragon Potion in private, but had instead successfully concocted it during the Sixth Level Creator examination at the Craftsmen Association, then Tao En would have earned the badge of a Six-finger Creator and become the sixth Six-finger Creator in the Xin Xia Federation.

The social status of a Six-finger Creator and a Five-finger Peak Creator are worlds apart.

Every Six-finger Creator possesses a status that allows them to stand on equal footing with experts at the Peak of Ten Thousand Nations Level.

Once one surpasses the Eternal Tier and reaches the Peak of Ten Thousand Nations Level, the only way to obtain resources to strengthen one’s Guardian Beasts is from a Six-finger Creator.

That Tao En had successfully concocted a Fire Dragon Potion, accidental or not, proved he had truly reached the threshold of a Six-finger Creator.

If this trauma, combined with the skills he had accumulated and honed over more than ten years, could truly allow Tao En to become a Six-finger Creator in one fell swoop, then Zhong Yi would have truly hit the jackpot!

”Master Tao En, you should put this Fire Dragon Potion away.”

”At the Dragon Soaring Association, I used a Dragon Carp to win a Dragon Blood Rose.”

”I’ll be giving the Dragon Blood Rose to you to cultivate.”

”Before you become a true Six-finger Creator, you can collect the flowers that naturally fall off the Dragon Blood Rose. You can use them to concoct Dragon Breath Potions in the future.”

The moment Zhong Yi mentioned the Dragon Blood Rose, Tao En’s expression shifted noticeably.

”If I’m not mistaken, that Dragon Blood Rose must be the one Cao Xing’an put up.”

”Back when I had just become a Five-finger Peak Creator, Cao Xing’an was still only a Five-finger High Level Creator. He offered me a Dragon Blood Rose back then to sue for peace.”

”I’ve used up most of my resources, but even when I was at my most prosperous, I only ever had a few resources on par with a Dragon Blood Rose.”

”Now that you’ve won it, Young Master, Cao Xing’an must really be feeling the sting!”

While Zhong Yi and Tao En were talking, Wen Tao took Sun Yushi to a restaurant to order some food.

Everyone would be staying to eat at Tao En’s shop that evening.

Tao En’s soul had recovered by nearly half, which was certainly cause for a proper celebration.

While at the restaurant ordering food, Wen Tao made a point to ask Tao Niannian what she wanted to eat.

By the time Zhong Yi and his group left Tao En’s shop and returned to the Celestial Destiny Society in the Central District of Longya City, a grand banquet was underway at Cao Xing’an’s residence, just as there had been the day before.

Since it was the first day after the official start of the Dragon Soaring Association, even more people were attending the banquet tonight than the night before.

However, the host of the banquet, Cao Xing’an, had not made an appearance.

Not only was Cao Xing’an absent, but his niece, Ju Jiasu, was also nowhere to be seen at the banquet.

The entire banquet was being hosted by Cao Xing’an’s son, Cao Zixu.
