Celestial Beast Taming

Chapter 253: Chapter 159: You Have No Face Either

As Wang Hongwu was lost in thought, he heard Zhong Yi say coldly,

”You don’t get to take advantage of my Order Beast so easily.”

”Brother Tao, we’re new to Longya City and don’t know our way around. We don’t want to cause trouble.”

”Contact the Celestial Destiny Society. Let one of their Stewards come out and handle this!”

Zhong Yi’s words startled both Wang Hongwu and the man who had just been causing trouble.

What?

An Order Beast!?

The Celestial Destiny Society!?

The young man before them was actually a Celestial Destiny Seeker from another Heroic City!

Upon hearing that the Celestial Destiny Society would be intervening, Wang Hongwu felt a wave of relief.

But the middle-aged man with the severed arm broke out in a cold sweat on his forehead and back in an instant.

’Molesting an Order Beast... Taking advantage of an Order Beast... what kind of crime would that even be?’

’I doubt a case like this has ever appeared in the entire history of the Xin Xia Federation.’

After all, the vast majority of Order Beasts were humanoid at best, like the Resurrection Celestial Lord.

An Order Beast like Hong Ji, who was completely indistinguishable from a human, had never been seen before.

However, taking advantage of an Order Beast was tantamount to sexually assaulting a Celestial Destiny Seeker.

For an organization like the Celestial Destiny Society, dedicated to defending the dignity of Celestial Destiny Seekers, to get involved... the consequences would be far more than he could bear.

Even the Dragon Sword Mercenaries he belonged to couldn’t afford it!

This incident would inevitably reach the ears of the Jinglong Commerce Association, and perhaps even Cao Xing’an himself.

Wen Tao and Cui Heng had been annoyed with the troublemaking middle-aged man from the start!

It was only because Zhong Yi had stepped forward to handle it that Wen Tao and Cui Heng had kept quiet.

Hearing Zhong Yi say he wanted the Celestial Destiny Society to handle it, Wen Tao smiled, took out his phone, and called the very same Steward from the Society who had just assisted him.

The Steward promised to be on the scene within ten minutes.

Wen Tao had always worried that Zhong Yi was too honest and unassuming, and would get bullied while away from home.

Now, Wen Tao was completely at ease!

Zhong Yi was far from the innocent and harmless person he appeared to be; he was actually quite the schemer.

Before the Director from the Celestial Destiny Society could arrive, the female Celestial Destiny Seeker they had just seen at the Society headquarters unexpectedly appeared in the shop.

When the City Patrol Team had arrived, Tao En, not wanting to prematurely reveal that he had pledged himself to Zhong Yi and was preparing to leave Longya City, had continued his act.

He still pretended to be unable to see clearly.

After entering, Ju Jiasu swept her gaze around the shop.

She glanced at the middle-aged man with the torn-off arm, then turned to look at Wen Tao.

”Ah Tao, it’s just a trivial matter. There’s no need to make such a big deal out of it.

”Do me a favor and let this go.”

Hearing this, Wen Tao did not immediately agree as Ju Jiasu had expected.

Instead, he spoke to her with a serious expression.

”He harassed Xiaoyi’s Order Beast. How can I be the one to decide to just drop it?”

”It only counts if Xiaoyi decides not to pursue it.”

Wen Tao wasn’t in the habit of upgrading his phone. While everyone else was using Six-Fold Communication Devices, Wen Tao was still using a four-fold one.

This caused his phone’s earpiece to leak sound, so Wen Tao had overheard some of what Star Night had said to Zhong Yi during the call.

In truth, Wen Tao had long since come to see Zhong Yi as the future of Starlight City.

For a city to achieve greater development, it needs a brilliant leader.

Right now, Starlight City’s brilliant leader was Star Night, and after so many years, an equally brilliant young person had finally appeared in Starlight City.

Wen Tao’s words made Ju Jiasu’s already frowning expression darken further.

’By my count, Wen Tao has slighted me twice in a row now!’

Even if Ju Jiasu truly liked Wen Tao, she was still extremely displeased.

In Ju Jiasu’s mind, she was different from other Celestial Destiny Seekers of her generation.

Because her uncle was a Five-finger Peak Creator, the other Celestial Destiny Seekers in Longya City—even the veteran ones—always showed her respect.

But from Wen Tao, she had never received even a shred of preferential treatment.

Wen Tao’s eyes were always fixed on Lin Zhuo.

Ju Jiasu had investigated and found that Lin Zhuo had no significant background.

Ju Jiasu forced herself to be patient and said to Zhong Yi,

”You say he was indecent with your Order Beast. Regardless of whether that’s true, he was in the wrong.”

”My uncle is currently the only Five-finger Peak Creator in Longya City, and he is hosting a banquet tonight.”

”As compensation, I can invite you all and let you have the first pick of the Dragon Species Guardian Beasts being gifted to the guests.”

Ju Jiasu didn’t think much of Zhong Yi. After all, she had checked the Celestial Destiny Society’s files and knew he was merely an S-rank Combat-type Celestial Destiny Seeker.

Although it was rare for even one or two such Celestial Destiny Seekers to appear in any Heroic City each decade, as a Celestial Destiny Seeker herself, Ju Jiasu’s family background meant she had always looked down on new-generation Seekers who lacked the support of a powerful family.

When dealing with the few new-generation Celestial Destiny Seekers in Longya City, with the exception of the one from the Long Family, Ju Jiasu couldn’t be bothered to pay any mind to the others.

In Ju Jiasu’s view, she had already stated her uncle’s name.

A junior like Zhong Yi couldn’t possibly slight her again.

Then, she heard the young man’s clear voice.

”I am not lacking in Dragon Species Guardian Beasts, and this matter will not be dropped so easily.”

”Besides, I’m not being aggressive. I’m simply letting the Celestial Destiny Society handle this.”

”Or do you think it’s somehow improper to have a Steward from the Celestial Destiny Society handle it?”

”We came to Longya City to participate in the Dragon Soaring Assembly, not to attend someone’s banquet.”

”Surely tonight’s banquet can’t be more exciting than the Dragon Soaring Assembly, can it!?”

From Wen Tao’s earlier attitude toward Ju Jiasu, Zhong Yi could tell that Wen Tao disliked her.

On the way here, Wen Tao had also mentioned that Ju Jiasu was Cao Xing’an’s niece.

When Ju Jiasu had previously visited Starlight City, Wen Tao and Lin Zhuo had hosted her as a gesture of goodwill.

While in Starlight City, Ju Jiasu had caused quite a stir over a trivial matter, and in the end, the Celestial Destiny Society had to intervene to resolve it.

Under these circumstances, Zhong Yi naturally wasn’t going to give Ju Jiasu any face!

Besides, Zhong Yi had already taken Tao En under his wing, and the enmity between Tao En and Cao Xing’an was irreconcilable.

From now on, Zhong Yi and Cao Xing’an could only be enemies.

So there was naturally no need to worry about saving face for Cao Xing’an.

Ju Jiasu’s expression was terrifyingly dark, and she clenched her fists tightly.

’I can’t believe it! Not only did Wen Tao not give me any face, but even this young, new-generation Celestial Destiny Seeker is disrespecting me!’

’Could it be because of Tao En?’

Ju Jiasu’s sharp gaze fell upon Tao En, only to see him with his head lowered, looking at Tao Niannian beside him.

Tao Niannian’s face was filled with terror and worry.

After staring for a long moment, Ju Jiasu finally retracted her gaze. Then, just as she had at the Celestial Destiny Society earlier, she left without a backward glance, having been thoroughly humiliated.

As a City Patrol Captain, Wang Hongwu normally never had the chance to interact with Celestial Destiny Seekers. After Zhong Yi announced his identity, he had been uncertain about it.

He was afraid of being deceived by Zhong Yi and becoming a laughingstock.

It was only after Ju Jiasu’s arrival that he was certain Zhong Yi had been telling the truth.

Ju Jiasu had a great reputation in Longya City, though not all of it was good.

A part of it was related to her background and her ruthless way of doing things.

’Now I’ve seen Ju Jiasu get slighted... there won’t be any repercussions from this, will there?’

Ju Jiasu had barely left when the glamorous Steward from the Longya City Celestial Destiny Society arrived.

She first offered her sympathies to Zhong Yi and Wen Tao, then took Wang Hongwu and the dumbstruck middle-aged man back to the Celestial Destiny Society.

The Steward would keep Wen Tao and Zhong Yi updated on the subsequent proceedings.

As night fell, a large number of guests gathered at the Cao Family’s mansion in the Central District of Longya City.

Tonight, however, Cao Xing’an’s face was not wreathed in its usual smile.

His smiling face was covered by a thick gloom, and he left the banquet early, long before it was over.
