Celestial Beast Taming

Chapter 54: Chapter 53: This Is a Miracle

If he hadn’t just been healed by Zhong Yi himself, Zhao Kai would never have believed that someone could fully heal his two near-death Guardian Beasts in just a few days.

He was Zhong Yi’s man now; Zhong Yi had no reason to lie just to reassure him.

Zhao Kai had endured for so many years, but hearing that Zhong Yi could heal his Shield Crystal Armor Dragon and Thorny Horned Dragon, he couldn’t stop his eyes from turning red.

Zhao Kai forcefully suppressed his emotions to keep himself from weeping with joy in front of Zhong Yi.

”Young Master, I’ll go feed them the raw meat now. They get a little crazy when they eat, and a lot of the meat I bought is entrails.”

”Would you like to wait in the shop up front for a while? I can call you over after I’m done feeding them.”

Zhong Yi shook his head at his words. After witnessing Hong Ji stylishly devouring a Horned Demon Swarm in the Horned Demon Secret Realm, the sight of two Earth Dragons eating raw flesh wouldn’t stir the slightest ripple in his heart.

However, the Shield Crystal Armor Dragon, with its shattered internal organs—its stomach might not even be intact—was in no condition to devour raw flesh.

”Zhao Kai, your ability as a Creator should have returned by now. You still remember how to concoct Potions after all these years, don’t you?”

Zhao Kai didn’t know why Zhong Yi had suddenly changed the subject to his abilities as a Creator. He answered Zhong Yi’s question honestly.

”Young Master, I was originally a Four-finger Peak Creator, but it’s been many years since I’ve concocted any Potions.”

”If you have me concoct a high-difficulty Fourth Level Potion right away, my success rate definitely won’t be what it was before I was injured.”

”I’ll need some time to readjust and become proficient in controlling my soul again. But I’ll have no problem with Potions below the Fourth Level, or with ordinary Fourth Level Potions.”

Hearing this, Zhong Yi spoke in a serious tone.

”Since you can concoct Potions, first let the Thorny Horned Dragon eat the raw meat. Then, go buy some materials and concoct as many Potions as you can like the Muscle Regeneration Potion, which can help the Shield Crystal Armor Dragon recover its Life Energy.”

”The Shield Crystal Armor Dragon’s internal organs are almost completely shattered. I need to help it restore them before it can eat raw meat; otherwise, devouring flesh will only add to its burden.”

With its digestive system destroyed, it naturally wouldn’t be able to absorb anything, no matter how much it ate.

Ordinarily, Zhong Yi wouldn’t have needed to explain to Zhao Kai why he was asking him to concoct Potions now.

But Zhong Yi could sense Zhao Kai’s anxiety about his two Guardian Beasts.

In his previous life, whenever Zhong Yi went to the hospital for a cold or fever, he hated the feeling of a doctor handing him a stack of lab requests, telling him to get tests done without explaining why.

Upon hearing this, Zhao Kai wanted to say that feeding Potions that restored Life Energy to the Shield Crystal Armor Dragon would have no effect at all.

Previously, every time Zhao Kai fed raw meat to his Shield Crystal Armor Dragon, it would just vomit the food back up along with clots of blood.

So, Zhao Kai had tried injecting the Potions instead.

But the Shield Crystal Armor Dragon’s body was like a giant funnel. The injected Potion would take effect, but its body was unable to absorb the Life Energy contained within.

However, Zhao Kai didn’t ask any more questions. The methods Zhong Yi had just used to heal him were nothing short of divine.

After just a casual treatment of the Thorny Horned Dragon and the Shield Crystal Armor Dragon, Zhao Kai could already feel that his two Guardian Beasts had made a noticeable recovery and were in much better condition than before.

Zhao Kai was no fool. On the contrary, as a Four-finger Creator, he had high standards and a sharp eye.

He had long since realized that the being Zhong Yi summoned was an Order Beast that controlled the Rule of healing.

’Only a complete idiot would question a Healing-type Celestial Destiny Seeker!’

The materials needed for a Creator to concoct Potions weren’t easy to find on the open market.

After explaining the situation to Zhong Yi, Zhao Kai went straight to the Craftsmen Association. The Craftsmen Association was undoubtedly the best place for a Creator to find materials.

At the Craftsmen Association in Starlight City, Zhao Kai didn’t use his old Four-finger Creator badge, which had been certified in Zhuxue City.

Instead, he took the exam to certify his Creator Level under a completely new identity.

For a Creator with genuine skill and knowledge, certifying their Creator Level was easy.

All one had to do was successfully concoct three Potions of the corresponding Level within the allotted time.

If they passed the assessment by concocting three bottles of Potions within the time limit, the Creator would not only receive their Level certification, but they would also get to keep the three Potions.

If they failed, the Creator would have to pay one and a half times the cost of the materials used during the assessment.

By recertifying his identity as a Four-finger Creator, it would be much easier for Zhao Kai to find Potion-concocting materials in the future. He could go directly to the Craftsmen Association and buy them.

If the Craftsmen Association didn’t have the materials he needed, they would help him find them, as long as he could afford the price.

In the Guardian Beast World, Creators were a group of people whose status was second only to Celestial Destiny Seekers.

The Craftsmen Association was an officially established organization designed to serve Creators.

Since the Craftsmen Association in each Heroic City was operated independently by that city...

...these Heroic Cities would go out of their way to one-up each other in the services they offered, all to keep more Creators in their city.

Even aspiring Creators who had not yet been initiated or awakened their Soul Finger could receive excellent service.

This made most Creators rather arrogant!

Of course, this arrogance wasn’t just a result of the Craftsmen Association’s service. Guardian Beast Masters always needed to seek out Creators to concoct Potions if they wanted to strengthen their Guardian Beasts and improve their Quality.

You could say that from the moment one became a Creator, as long as they didn’t suffer an accident like Zhao Kai’s, they would spend the rest of their lives being sought after by others.

The old Zhao Kai had been just as arrogant. But after everything he had been through, he now felt that truly discerning people should be more reserved with their emotions, rather than wearing their pride on their faces.

As a Healing-type Celestial Destiny Seeker, Zhong Yi should have been the person in this world with the most right to be arrogant.

Yet, in their interactions, Zhao Kai could feel that Zhong Yi’s attitude was extremely gentle and calm.

Before Zhong Yi had summoned his Order Beast, Zhao Kai hadn’t detected the slightest hint of a Celestial Destiny Seeker’s airs about him.

It took Zhao Kai some time to recertify his Creator Level. When he returned, he found that his near-death Thorny Horned Dragon was now able to stand up and walk around freely.

Every few bites of raw meat, it would walk over to Zhong Yi, bobbing its head like an eager puppy to thank him for the treatment.

Zhao Kai keenly noticed that the broken stumps of the thorns on the Thorny Horned Dragon’s head, neck, back, and tail had all become smooth.

The base of the thorns had begun to secrete a thick, calcified substance—proof that the thorns were starting to regrow.

A few of the small holes in the shattered frill-bones on its head had been patched up, and the cracks that nearly ran across the entire frill were also showing signs of healing.

If someone were to ask Zhao Kai what a miracle was, he would point to the Thorny Horned Dragon running and jumping before him. That was his miracle!
