**Chapter 1154: The Role of the Honorary Title**

There was no grand ceremony for the event; the military always kept things simple. Even the matter of awarding Lin Moyu the honorary title was handled directly by the commander, Ke Yuanjun.

After giving Lin Moyu the honorary title, Ke Yuanjun didn’t stay long. He exchanged a few words and then left, leaving Lin Moyu with an impression of decisiveness and efficiency.

Upon receiving the honorary title, Lin Moyu’s military rank was changed to Honorary Fourth-Rank Warrior. In the future, as his military merits increased, he could be promoted to Honorary Officer, Honorary Captain, and eventually Honorary General. Although he hadn’t officially joined the military, he now had the same rights as a soldier.

In a simple tavern, Qian Huang invited Lin Moyu for a meal. Qian Huang was very hospitable, ordering a table full of dishes, over thirty plates in total. Each dish was exquisitely prepared, and the room was filled with a fragrant aroma. This meal must have cost several hundred military merits, showing that Qian Huang had spent a lot.

Qian Huang introduced the dishes, “These are some of the best dishes I’ve had in recent years. Some ingredients come from star beasts, while others are vegetables or edible beasts from alien territories.”

Humans generally didn’t eat other intelligent species, as respect for life was a fundamental principle. The Prison Lion that Lin Moyu had killed was originally meant to be food. According to Qian Huang, this Prison Lion had killed many humans and used them as food, so it was captured by a human God King and sent here as food.

Lin Moyu didn’t hold back and tasted a few bites, finding the flavors excellent. Qian Huang laughed, “Not bad, right? Once you leave the battlefield, it’s hard to find such delicacies.”

Although Lin Moyu hadn’t been to many taverns, he knew that these dishes rarely made it into the human world. They were usually reserved for the inner circles of large families.

Lin Moyu said, “Senior Brother Qian, you didn’t have to go to such lengths.”

Qian Huang waved his hand, “It’s nothing. There’s no need to be so polite. I owe my successful promotion to God King to you, Junior Brother Lin.”

“Junior Brother Lin, I envy you for receiving the honorary title from the military.”

Lin Moyu was intrigued. He knew some basic information about the honorary title but not the deeper aspects. He asked, “Senior Brother Qian, can you tell me more about the role of the honorary title?”

Qian Huang explained, “The honorary title is very valuable. On the surface, it allows you to purchase military supplies and use military facilities.”

Lin Moyu nodded, “I’ve read about that.”

Qian Huang continued, “Just this alone is very beneficial. You don’t have to pay high prices to buy military items from soldiers anymore. On the battlefield, many good items can only be bought with military merits, and these items are better than those in the trading center. However, some of the best items are exclusive to soldiers, a privilege of being in the military. Ordinary people, even with enough military merits, can’t buy them. So, they use points to buy these items from real soldiers. The military doesn’t restrict this practice, so some soldiers specialize in buying military items and reselling them at high prices.”

Qian Huang had bought several items this way, spending a lot of points. He sighed, “Military-exclusive items are indeed excellent. Some pills can save lives, and some one-time-use weapons are incredibly powerful.”

“Now, as long as you have enough military merits, you can buy whatever you want. It’s very satisfying.”

Lin Moyu ate and pondered Qian Huang’s words. Just this one benefit made the honorary title immensely valuable. He could even make a fortune by reselling items, provided he had enough military merits.

“Is there a deeper purpose to the honorary title?” Lin Moyu asked, believing there must be more to it.

Qian Huang took a bite and continued, “Of course, there’s more. The real value of the honorary title is that it allows you to form a private army.”

Lin Moyu was shocked. Form a private army? His heart raced at the surprising news, but he remained calm on the surface. He asked quietly, “Can you really form a private army?”

Qian Huang looked at Lin Moyu, hoping to see a shocked expression but was disappointed. He nodded, “Yes, those with an honorary title can form their own private army. But there are restrictions; the private army can only serve the titleholder, not the family. If misused, the title can be revoked.”

Lin Moyu thought for a moment and understood the intention behind this. Those who received the honorary title were either top talents or had made significant contributions to humanity. These people were targets for alien races. Forming a private army would greatly enhance their safety. Additionally, in times of war, these private armies would be a valuable force. As the honorary title advanced, the scale of the private army could also grow. Properly managed, this wouldn’t disrupt the balance of humanity.

Understanding this, Lin Moyu felt enlightened. Qian Huang laughed, “You get it now, right?”

Lin Moyu nodded, “I understand.”

Qian Huang added, “Our Qian family also has a private army, controlled by our ancestor. Although the private army can’t directly serve the family, the ancestor uses it to explore various secret realms, bringing back significant resources for the family.”

“There are other benefits too, which you’ll understand once you form your private army.”

Qian Huang didn’t elaborate, as he hadn’t personally formed a private army and didn’t want to mislead Lin Moyu. However, Lin Moyu had no intention of forming a private army. No private army could compare to his undead army. His millions-strong undead army was more useful than any private army.

Lin Moyu had more questions but was interrupted by a humming sound from the fortress. The starry sky outside turned a pale red.
