Chapter 418: The Flame Demon King Dies, Becoming a Two-Star General

The Flame Demon King madly pounced over like a crazed beast. Although its body was thin and small, Lin Moyu did not dare underestimate it at all.

After all, this was the true form of a Demon King, its strength was bound to be formidable.

The Lich General instantly blocked in front of him, while a large number of Skeleton Warriors and Skeleton Archers surrounded Lin Moyu in a circle.

Corpses were simultaneously thrown overhead and detonated.

Amid the thunderous booms, the Flame Demon King’s true form was blown away.

It was only then that Lin Moyu realized that its strength had greatly diminished compared to before.

Once its outer shell was destroyed, the Flame Demon King had lost the power befitting a Demon King.

The soul flame flickered again, and the Flame Demon King’s true form let out miserable cries as it stretched out its hands, spewing black flames.

At the same time, the Abyss Flames in the sky were drawn in, and large swaths of fire rained down like meteors.

Lin Moyu remained expressionless. “There’s no need to struggle anymore!”

The Skeleton Berserkers defied the flames, charging towards the Flame Demon King’s front as their axes glowed red with technique.

With a few slashes…

The Flame Demon King’s hands and feet were simultaneously chopped off, followed by the small pair of wings on its back being severed as well.

The Flame Demon King fell to the ground wailing, completely losing the ability to struggle.

Lin Moyu said, “When you came here and your strength was suppressed, your death was already sealed. Flame Demon King!”

The Flame Demon King continued crying out, “I don’t believe it, you’re clearly not even level 50, why are you so powerful?”

Lin Moyu shook his head, “I have no need to explain to you. Now I’ll send you on your final journey.”

“No, don’t kill me!” The Flame Demon King cried out madly.

“Don’t kill me, don’t kill me. In exchange, I can tell you the secret of how I became a Demon King at level 290. Spare me and I’ll never be your enemy again.”

The Flame Demon King screeched incessantly.

It wanted to live. As a Demon King, it held supreme authority in the Abyss.

It could enjoy the most wonderful life and command the winds and clouds in the Abyss.

Lin Moyu shook his head, “I won’t make deals with demons.”

The Skeleton Berserker had already raised its axe.

From start to finish, Lin Moyu kept his distance, never taking a single step closer.

Moreover, the undead army protected him, in case the Flame Demon King tried a suicidal explosion or something.

He didn’t want to be the one falling into the ditch he dug.

From Lin Moyu’s icy tone and the Skeleton Berserker’s actions, the Flame Demon King saw Lin Moyu’s determination to kill it.

It let out another maddened roar, “I curse you with a Demon King’s soul, curse you to never level up again, curse your skills to be sealed, curse your vitality to wither, curse you…”

With its words, thunderclaps rang out in the sky.

One curse after another broke through the bounds of space and time, descending upon Lin Moyu.

With each curse that fell, the Flame Demon King’s aura would wane a bit.

It was sacrificing its soul to cast these vile curses.

Curse after curse rained down, enveloping Lin Moyu in a hazy red glow.

Yet Lin Moyu felt nothing at all.

His skills were not sealed, his vitality did not recede, his attributes did not change in the slightest.

Lin Moyu immediately understood – it was his passive skill, Status Immunity.

It granted immunity to all status effects, and curses were simply a type of status effect, which were similarly nullified.

The Flame Demon King continued casting its curses, sacrificing its soul.

Completely unaware that its curses had no effect on Lin Moyu whatsoever.

Over ten curses later, its soul had weakened to the extreme.

“You’re finished. The curses cast by my divine soul, unless faced by a supreme being, no one can remove them for you.”

“Even if I can’t kill you, I will utterly ruin you.”

“You will surely remember this Demon King’s grace in your future life.”

The Flame Demon King laughed madly.

With these ten-plus curses laid, even if Lin Moyu didn’t die, he would become a cripple.

At this point, Lin Moyu, enveloped in the cursed light, walked up to it.

“Your curses are ineffective against me!” Lin Moyu’s will to slay demons burned bright.

He didn’t have to do this, yet he chose to.

That one line sent the Flame Demon King plunging into hell.

Ineffective!

“Impossible, this can’t be!” The Flame Demon King wailed on the ground unceasingly.

Lin Moyu’s aura was indeed perfectly intact.

The cursed light flickered, enveloping Lin Moyu, yet having no effect on him at all.

The Flame Demon King was not just in despair, its heart had died.

Its eyes went blank as it muttered, “Impossible, this can’t be!”

The objective had been achieved. Lin Moyu let out a cold laugh. “You should go now.”

The Berserker skill was down to its last second cooldown.

The Skeleton Berserker raised its axe and slammed it down.

[Killed Flame Demon King, Experience +(900 billion)]

[Killed Flame Demon King, Emblem Stars +1]

Lin Moyu was stunned by the experience gained.

A whopping 900 billion experience points.

If converted to level 50 Hellish Plane monsters, that was equivalent to 45,000 of them.

It was almost the same as the total experience from clearing the Beast God Plateau dungeon once.

Lin Moyu thought to himself, if he went and killed a few more Demon Kings from the Abyss, could he level up directly?

Though it was just a whimsical thought, the idea was still quite exciting.

He was well aware that this time was just luck.

The Flame Demon King came here and had its strength suppressed to barely a fifth of its full power.

Even so, killing it was still extremely difficult.

If it was outside, he would definitely be the one killed instead.

After all, he was only level 48. How could he possibly contend against a Demon King?

Unless another Demon King came to the plane to kill him, and it happened to be around the Flame Demon King’s strength level. If a stronger Demon King came, even with its strength suppressed, he would likely be the one dying instead.

Besides the experience, there was also an increase in Emblem Stars.

The Military Emblem radiated a brilliant light.

A second star appeared.

After becoming a One-Star General, further promotions were no longer as simple as accumulating military merits.

To become a Two-Star General required slaying a Demon King or Dragon King from the Abyss.

To go from a Two-Star to Three-Star General required killing two more.

Four-Star required another four kills.

And Five-Star required eight more kills after that.

The higher the star rank, the harder it became to advance.

When White Yi Yuan had imprinted Lin Moyu’s soul, it reduced his star rank.

Equivalent to lacking the merits of one Demon King kill, which he later made up for by slaying a Dragon Tribe Dragon King.

If Lin Moyu wanted to advance from a Two-Star to Three-Star General now,

He would need to kill two more Demon Kings or Dragon Kings – the difficulty was self-evident.

After the Flame Demon King’s death, the Abyss Flames gradually died down as well.

However, the seal on the plane had yet to be fully lifted, requiring some more time.

“I don’t know what the situation is like outside now.”

Lin Moyu muttered as he began summoning more skeletons to replenish his undead army.

This great battle had cost nearly 4,000 Skeleton Berserkers, taking over an hour to fully reinforce.

Moreover, the Berserker skill was also on cooldown.

If there was a major battle outside, the Berserker skill would be his greatest asset.

In the Abyss realm, fiery rain suddenly descended from the skies across various regions.

The Abyss Flames in the sky rained down, crashing in large swaths across the lands.

The demons in the Abyss were stunned.

A demon exclaimed, “Abyss firestorm, a Demon King has fallen!”

“The firestorm is concentrated mainly in the Flame Demon King’s territory. The Flame Demon King has fallen!”

“What happened? How could the Flame Demon King have fallen?”

“Did the human race launch an attack?”

In the Demon King of Ghosts’ territory, the Demon Queen of Charm stood on the palace balcony.

Her gaze pierced through space, looking into the distance.

Abyss firestorms also rained down on her territory, though not as heavily.

“The Flame Demon King went to find Lin Moyu, didn’t he? How did he end up getting killed?”

“Did he run into White Yi Yuan or Meng An Wen?”

“It serves him right. Is the human world really so easy to go to that he had to go in the flesh?”

“The Cult has suffered heavy losses these past few days too, wasting years of effort.”

The Demon Queen of Charm’s expression showed not a hint of anger.

Even if many of her subordinates from the Cult were killed, to her, those subordinates were merely her pawns.

She would not be angered by the deaths of her pawns.

Dead ones could be replaced with a new batch to play with.

She stretched lazily, about to return to her palace.

Suddenly, a voice rang out, “Demon Queen of Charm, come to my palace for a bit.”

The Demon Queen of Charm’s expression changed instantly as she respectfully said, “I obey, great Demon Sovereign!”
