Chapter 415: The Demon King Is No Match

The counterattack from the Demon Worship Society began in full force. It was as if they wanted to go all out against Bai Yiyuan.

They summoned demons from the abyss, combining them with their own members to launch attacks on the major academies.

Within the instructor teams of the various academies, members of the Demon Worship Society were discovered, showing how deeply they had infiltrated over time.

However, the academies were not simply made of mud. Powerful figures emerged from within, as at prestigious academies like Xiajing and Zhendian, there were divine-level experts present.

Even at academies without divine-level experts, there were still top-tier experts at level 85 or above, and even some false gods appeared.

The Demon Worship Society’s actions allowed the whole world to witness the true might of the Shenxia Empire. Originally, the publicly known divine-level experts numbered only around 10.

But now, it could be seen that there were over 20 such experts hidden away.

Countries that originally viewed this as just a chance to watch from the sidelines now felt a sense of fear and awe. Who knew if there were even more powerful experts deeply concealed within the Shenxia Empire? The situation they were witnessing may have just been the surface.

Inside the “Beast God Plateau” dungeon, the Flame Demon King emerged from the abyss flames.

Lin Moyu finally saw the true form of the Flame Demon King. It was a spherical demon monster over 3 meters in diameter. Its eyes took up over 70% of its body space, with no visible nose or mouth.

Its body was covered in tentacles, with a few particularly thick ones that seemed to be its limbs. Raging flames burned across its entire body, raising temperatures and distorting space wherever it went.

“So that’s why I’ve only seen its eye before, it actually looks like this.”

Lin Moyu had only encountered the Flame Demon King’s eye in the past. He didn’t expect its appearance to be so bizarre.

The Flame Demon King had no facial expressions, but its raging flames displayed its mood.

“Hehehe, Lin Moyu, you can’t escape this time.”

The Flame Demon King let out a mocking laugh, as if it had already devoured Lin Moyu.

Lin Moyu stared back at the Flame Demon King, sensing its aura. He felt that something was amiss.

As someone who had faced divine-level beings in the Realm of Decay, he could tell that this Flame Demon King, despite being the real thing, did not seem as powerful as he had imagined.

It was stronger than the Demon King’s avatar he had killed before, but weaker than the true Demon King of the Minotaurs he had faced.

Its strength lay somewhere in between.

According to Bai Yiyuan, the Demon King of the Minotaurs was considered among the weakest of the Demon Kings.

Thinking it over, Lin Moyu realized the reason. “You seem a bit weak. Is it because the sacrificial power is insufficient, or is it due to the restrictions of the dungeon rules?”

“You tried to change the dungeon rules on purpose, but it seems you couldn’t change them completely.”

There were rules governing the dungeons that prevented overly powerful beings from entering.

The Flame Demon King had used special methods to temporarily bypass these rules and allow itself entry. However, it could not completely overturn the rules, which still imposed restrictions on it.

The Flame Demon King let out a mocking laugh. “Your senses are quite sharp to notice that.”

“But so what? Even if I can only unleash one-tenth of my full power, it is more than enough to kill you.”

Lin Moyu surveyed his surroundings. Under the influence of the abyss flames, many of the dungeon’s monsters had undergone mutations, becoming stronger than before with increased vitality.

Silently, he cast a series of detection spells…

[Details on the mutated monsters omitted for brevity]

Seeing this, Lin Moyu formulated his plan. He knew he had two main skills he could rely on to defeat the Flame Demon King: Corpse Explosion and Reinforce.

After all, he was facing a Demon King. He needed to strike it down in one blow, without giving it a chance to react.

Based on his experience fighting divine-level beings in the Realm of Decay, he could withstand their might for a while when under the effects of Reinforce.

Now that the Flame Demon King’s power was restricted, it should be weaker than those beings he had faced.

So under the right conditions, Lin Moyu believed he had a chance to achieve the incredible feat of slaying a Demon King.

A faint smile appeared on his face as his Domain Crystal spun rapidly, radiating an aura of killing intent. “But…”

The Flame Demon King was slightly taken aback. “But what?”

Lin Moyu grinned. “If it were anywhere else, what you said might be true.”

“But here…”

With a flash, Lin Moyu’s Lightning Wings spread out as he shot towards the depths of the dungeon like a bolt of lightning.

He didn’t tell the Flame Demon King that in this place, there were monsters everywhere that could serve as his weapons.

“Trying to escape? Dream on!” The Flame Demon King gave chase, its speed not much slower than Lin Moyu’s.

The Flame Demon King roared with laughter. “There’s no escape for you in this dungeon!”

“Just let me kill you. I promise to burn you until not even ashes remain!”

As it spoke, rays of death energy lanced out towards Lin Moyu. Lin Moyu constantly changed directions in mid-air to evade the death rays.

In the past, he would have had no chance of dodging these death rays. But now, with his increased attributes, extensive combat experience, and the incredible speed granted by his Lightning Wings, he could weave through the attacks.

The Flame Demon King pursued Lin Moyu relentlessly, laughing madly. “Don’t bother struggling, you can’t escape!”

Escape? Lin Moyu had no intention of escaping.

In the blink of an eye, he had reached the airspace above Plateau 3. This was the plateau with the highest concentration of monsters across all four plateaus.

While flying, Lin Moyu’s undead army had already begun silently pulling monsters, gathering them together.

Lin Moyu had his plan clear in his mind. He intended to rely on two skills to slay the Flame Demon King: Corpse Explosion and Reinforce.

He slowed his speed slightly, allowing the Flame Demon King to gradually catch up. When it saw this, it laughed uproariously. “What’s wrong, can’t fly anymore?”

“At your level, being able to use a flight skill is already surprising enough.”

“But how long can you keep flying? Skills always have cooldowns!”

Lin Moyu remained silent. Below, his Skeleton Warriors had already secretly killed off a few monsters.

Lin Moyu also dispelled his Lightning Wings at this moment, plummeting downwards with a look of ’surprise’ on his face, as if the skill had reached its time limit, forcing him to fall.

The Flame Demon King didn’t suspect a thing, immediately diving after him. In fact, it moved even faster, slamming into the ground right as Lin Moyu landed.

BOOM! The impact shook the earth, with flames sweeping across the land. The surrounding monsters were blasted away, even the corpses Lin Moyu had prepared were flung hundreds of meters away.

White light flashed across Lin Moyu’s body as his Bone Armor blocked the flames, before shattering. A massive amount of damage flowed from his body into his undead army, injuring the skeletons while the Lich General quickly healed them.

Even with its power restricted, the Flame Demon King was still a true Demon King, equivalent to a divine-level expert among humans. Its attacks were tremendously powerful.

The Flame Demon King laughed uproariously. “You think I don’t know what you’re trying to do?”

“Trying to use corpse explosions against me? I won’t give you that chance!”

Lin Moyu inwardly sighed. “It seems even Demon Kings aren’t idiots.”

“But…”
