Standing among the stars that lit up the empty expanse around me, I carefully examined the space-rule meanings before me. The options here were few. Unlike inside the card world’s womb—where I could draw from a vast palette of millions of space-rule meanings within its rule stream—only the meanings I had personally uncovered were available for selection now.

Now I was starting to understand why one couldn’t know what a rule meaning truly did while inside the womb of a realm’s will when choosing it. It was because we hadn’t discovered those meanings ourselves; they were things the realm’s will had already comprehended and merely allowed us to access. But in the rule source, there was no such guidance. There, we could only comprehend the meanings we personally uncovered.

Understanding this, I finally realized why choosing rule meanings that resonated with my physique, traits, or cards at the bifurcation point helped me select meanings that were at least somewhat related or compatible with them. It ensured I always ended up choosing a rule meaning I could actually use. That was to say, it had always been my own comprehension of those rule meanings that guided me toward options that worked well with my physique, traits, or cards.

As these coincidences were just explanations waiting to happen. Deducing this, I felt neither excited nor upset.

Choosing a rule meaning within the rule source wasn’t a gamble the way it was when choosing a rule meaning in the realm’s womb. That was good in one sense—but also a problem for a perfectionist like me. I could no longer just pick one and be satisfied with it until I could choose another.

Knowing myself, with my habit of overthinking everything, I would only keep digging deeper, uncovering more and more space-rule meanings without comprehending any of them, convinced each time that I could find something better.

So, I decided not to be picky. I would focus on comprehending three space-rule meanings to their ultimate mastery, fuse them to form my space-rule stream, and only then explore and comprehend as many other space-rule meanings as I wished. I could afford to do this because my mutated ego gem’s synchronization rate was extremely high—on par with that of a newborn celestial, making me hybrid celestial.

I looked through the meanings available to me, and my attention finally settled on the space-rule meaning of elasticity. As its name suggested, this space rule meaning allowed me to comprehend and master the elasticity of space itself.

Without giving myself a chance to rethink my decision or consider any other meanings, I immediately began comprehending the elasticity aspect of the space-rule meaning, knowing it was more than enough to serve as my first space-rule meaning. I reminded myself that there would always be more tempting rule meanings out there, and that I had to learn to be satisfied with my choice; otherwise, I would never be able to advance my mastery of the space rule beyond the advanced mastery.

[The Card Apprentice has crossed the rule bifurcation point and stepped into the Elasticity meaning of the space rule.

Soon, I understood that the elasticity of space was its tendency to return to its original form after being distorted by an external force. With that realization, I attained basic mastery of the elasticity space-rule meaning.

[The Card Apprentice has gained basic mastery of the ’Elasticity’ meaning of the space rule.

Note: Please deepen your comprehension of the Elasticity meaning to the level of ultimate mastery before selecting the second meaning of the space rule.]

I continued comprehending the elasticity space-rule meaning with a single-minded focus, delving into its fundamentals and gaining a clearer understanding of what elasticity meant in the context of space. I no longer saw it merely as a reaction from space when an external force was applied to it, but also as space’s own ability to deform—whether by stretching, compressing, or folding.

[The Card Apprentice has advanced basic mastery of the ’Elasticity’ meaning of the space rule to intermediate mastery.]

[The Card Apprentice has advanced intermediate mastery of the ’Elasticity’ meaning of the space rule to advanced mastery.]

[The Card Apprentice has advanced the advanced mastery of the ’Elasticity’ meaning of the space rule to rare mastery.]

[The Card Apprentice has advanced the rare mastery of the ’Elasticity’ meaning of the space rule to super rare mastery.]

With a single mind, I comprehend the ’Elasticity’ meaning of the space rule to super rare mastery without interruption, and then paused to create a rune ’Elasticity’ meaning of the space rule.

[ Rune: Limitless Strain
