Bang!

In the darkness of the void, a sudden, violent energy explosion resounded. Immediately after, a figure clad in battle armor was blasted away, blood spraying from his mouth. He tumbled several times through the void before finally coming to a stop.

”Hmph! Traitor of the Three Great Dragon Islands, still trying to resist? Where do you think you can run?”

From the darkness strode out a burly man dressed in black leather, who spat on the ground and barked coldly. That familiar face—upon closer inspection—it was none other than the man they had once encountered before: Hei Qing.

Hei Qing stepped up to the heavily injured fighter, pressing a foot down on the man’s chest. Looking down from above, he bellowed, ”Still not surrendering? What are you waiting for? Do you really need to take a trip under Her Majesty’s Dragon-Slaying Sword to understand?”

As he spoke, Hei Qing spat again. ”Trash like you—if you can’t even beat me, you’re not qualified to be executed by Her Majesty’s Dragon-Slaying Sword.”

”I surrender...” The armored man coughed twice, lowering his head.

”Hmph. At least you know what’s good for you. Since you surrender, come back with me and wait for Her Majesty’s judgment.” Only then did Hei Qing lift his foot off, even giving the man’s butt a kick.

Suddenly—

”Hm? Who’s spying? Get your ass out here!”

Hei Qing froze mid-step, sharply turning around as his gaze locked onto a particular shadowed region of the void. His voice dropped into a deep growl.

At the same time, energy surged across his body—he was ready to fight at any moment. The heavily injured armored man beside him frowned. His gaze flickered for a moment, and then, with a sigh, he reluctantly moved to stand beside Hei Qing.

”Hehe... Hei Qing, long time no see.”

The void rippled, and two figures stepped out from the darkness. A light, relaxed voice followed them.

”Wei Yang?” Hei Qing stared in shock at the two silhouettes. Then, realizing who they were, he exhaled in relief and grinned. ”And Xiao Yan! So it’s you two.”

”Mm. We heard your Ancient Void Dragon Clan was in a civil war, so we came to take a look. Not bad, huh? A few years gone and you’ve already reached Nine-Change Dou Zun.” Wei Yang shot him a glance and smiled.

”Hehe, Her Majesty the Dragon Emperor favored me and casually tossed me some resources.” At this topic, Hei Qing immediately looked proud, his grin stretching ear to ear.

Back then, when Her Majesty—still just a young girl—first returned to Eastern Dragon Island, Hei Qing had been the first to receive her and guide her. Later, he secretly followed her across Central Plains to protect her everywhere she went.

So even though his strength wasn’t considered top-tier among the dragons, Hei Qing was one of the Dragon Emperor’s true loyalists!

”Alright, alright, stop puffing up just because he complimented you.” Xiao Yan rolled his eyes and asked, ”How’s the battle going? Where’s your Emperor?”

Wei Yang also looked at Hei Qing, his expression relaxed.

Seeing Hei Qing out here leisurely catching fugitives told them everything—they hadn’t come too late. Eastern Dragon Island clearly wasn’t in danger. As expected, Hei Qing’s face flushed with excitement.

He waved his arms energetically, even glancing smugly at the demoralized armored man beside him, chin raised high as he proclaimed with absolute pride:

”The battle? Of course our Eastern Dragon Island won! Her Majesty the Dragon Emperor carries the true royal bloodline and wields the Dragon-Slaying Sword—what dragon could possibly stand against her? Those so-called Three Dragon Kings were just usurping traitors. They’ve all been executed!”

”Huh?” Wei Yang and Xiao Yan froze, mouths slightly open. ”You’re saying... all three Dragon Kings are dead?”

”Correct.” Hei Qing nodded with great satisfaction at their stunned reactions.

”You didn’t hear wrong. Those Three Dragon Kings were each beheaded by Her Majesty with a single strike. All dead. Right now, our Eastern Dragon Island people are scattered throughout the void capturing the remaining fugitives.”

As he spoke, he slapped the armored man beside him on the head: ”If you don’t believe me, ask him.”

”...”

Wei Yang and Xiao Yan both felt the corners of their mouths twitch violently. They’d rushed all this way, worried sick, preparing to help—

It was... already over?

Wei Yang exhaled lightly and let out a laugh: ”Looks like that girl Zi Yan really has grown up.”

Xiao Yan nodded silently.

To slaughter all three Dragon Kings alone with a single sword each—this was absolutely extraordinary. According to the intelligence from the Nine Serene Deep Ground Python Clan—

The Western and Southern Dragon Kings were both around mid-to-late Three-Star Dou Sheng, while the most powerful Northern Dragon King had one foot already stepped into Four-Star. The three together would force even Wei Yang to respond with extreme caution.

Not to mention the three Great Commanders under them—each a mid-to-late Two-Star Dou Sheng. The foundation of the Three Great Dragon Islands was terrifyingly deep; even one island alone could casually crush the Nine Serene Deep Ground Python Clan.

Of course, Eastern Dragon Island, as the rightful imperial lineage, had no weak foundation either. Wei Yang and Xiao Yan exchanged looks—relief washing through them completely. It felt like they’d made the trip for nothing... but they were truly happy for Zi Yan.

With the Three Dragon Kings dead, nothing remained to block her path to unifying the Dragon Clan.

”That girl has completely grown up... Her strength already surpasses ours,” Xiao Yan sighed with genuine emotion.

”Why do I suddenly feel this strange sense of melancholy, like... the little sister has grown up and her older brother is no longer needed?” Wei Yang blinked lightly.

Immediately, the two of them burst into laughter.

”Alright, let’s go. Let’s see just how terrifying our Dragon Emperor has become nowadays?” Wei Yang waved his hand.

”Mm.” Xiao Yan smiled and nodded.

”Haha, come on, I’ll take you to meet Her Majesty,” Hei Qing grinned, thumping his chest. ”I guarantee that once you see Her Majesty today, you’ll definitely be shocked out of your minds.”

”Oh? Then we’ll be looking forward to it.” Wei Yang and Xiao Yan smiled.

”Hei Qing, how can you bring two outsiders to meet the Dragon Emperor so casually?” At this moment, the armored man frowned.

”Bullshit!”

Hei Qing kicked him flying with one strike and barked, ”Outsiders? You’re the outsider! You haven’t even washed off your rebellion charges yet, and you dare meddle in Her Majesty’s affairs? What the hell are you?”

He planted one hand on his waist while pointing at Wei Yang and Xiao Yan with the other.

”Let me tell you—these two are extremely close friends of Her Majesty. They’ve risked their lives together, and they’re great benefactors to the entire Ancient Void Dragon Clan. If you don’t know how to speak properly, then speak less.”

Hei Qing blasted him until he was practically drenched in spit. But then, suddenly, he froze. His gaze swept over Wei Yang and Xiao Yan, his big hand scratching his head, confusion appearing in his eyes.

”Eh? That’s not right. Why can’t I sense your actual cultivation at all? What realm are you two at now?”

”Your information is a little outdated. Does your Ancient Void Dragon Clan not care about any news from Central Plains at all?” Xiao Yan asked with a helpless laugh.

”What news from Central Plains?” Hei Qing was stunned. ”Our Ancient Void Dragon Clan rarely pays attention to Central Plains matters.”

Then he shook his head. ”No, seriously—what realm are you now? Why can’t I sense anything?”

”When you saw me at the Ye Clan’s Ancient Altar in the Pill Region, what realm was I?” Wei Yang asked instead.

”Uh... I think you were Ban Sheng.” Hei Qing replied.

”So?” Wei Yang spread his hands.

Hiss—

Hei Qing sucked in a deep breath. ”So... could it be that you’re now mid-level Ban Sheng?!”

He stared at Wei Yang wide-eyed, completely stunned.

Back then, he had even fought Wei Yang in hand-to-hand combat. Yet after just a few years, Wei Yang had jumped straight to mid-level Ban Sheng? That was way too fast!

”Xiao Yan—don’t tell me you’ve also become Ban Sheng? What the hell... how’s anyone supposed to live like this?” Hei Qing muttered blankly.

After cultivating for so many years, he had finally managed to claw his way up to the peak of Nine-Change Dou Zun, still a long way from Ban Sheng.

Yet Xiao Yan—who had once been much weaker than him—was actually Ban Sheng now?

”...” Xiao Yan was speechless.

”Ban Sheng? What’s that brain of yours made of, nothing but muscles? Can’t you let your imagination expand even a little?” Wei Yang shook his head in exasperation and kicked Hei Qing on the backside. ”Forget it, take your time figuring it out. Hurry up and lead the way.”

”If my imagination should be bigger... could it be... high-level Ban Sheng?” Hei Qing’s face went blank. He silently grabbed the armored man and walked forward to lead the way.
