Beneath the Red Dragon

Chapter 148: Chapter 65: Chosen Worker_3

Even though they had already raised their expectations upon seeing the city, they didn’t expect the life within to appear somewhat prosperous.

”Is this the distant Land of Monsters? The kingdom of dragons? Incredible, those bandits weren’t lying to us after all.” Many humans originally didn’t believe that a kingdom belonging to dragons and monsters could be stable, a place where the Land of Monsters seemed normal to them.

Looking at the bustling streets, the dragon’s beloved, those monsters and humans had no peculiar differences, with all races living together peacefully on this land, even the most ignorant ogres becoming particularly orderly.

Though conflict and friction are unavoidable at times, under the suppression of those diverse city guards, harmony was quickly restored.

Shops, taverns, blacksmiths, tailor stores, trading guilds, loose goods markets, this place which is just a town for dragons seems like a huge city for these humans, and is walking the path to prosperity.

Faen paused his steps, gazing at the scene on the street, releasing Nora’s hand, and thoughtfully said, ”Nora, perhaps we can really find a stable life here, have a hopeful future. Who says a dragon’s kingdom cannot be a place of light!”

...

”Halt, unknown True Dragon, the Golden City does not allow outsiders to fly over or they will be seen as provocateurs and invaders,” the human soldier on the watchtower already had the signal arrow nocked on the longbow.

The modified bow changed from the original flat-backed longbow to a recurve longbow, increasing its range significantly, and the signal arrow fired by the soldier on the tower was enough for all soldiers inside the city to see.

Other Centaur Captain and Dogman Guard also picked up their weapons, pointing at the two young dragons descending from the sky without a hint of fear, even the often cowardly Dogman’s Beloved had the courage to wield a blade against other dragons before the Red Dragon and his Dragon Group were defeated by other dragons.

Not to mention the more formidable centaurs, providing enough resilient Power of Thought to the Red Dragon, while the Red Dragon repaid his will and strength to these loyal Centaur Warriors.

However, due to this secretive connection from the soul and mind being too hidden, both sides never noticed this issue.

Red Copper Dragon Alfred and Bronze Dragon Alina stopped at the city gate, entering the territory of the Dragon Group, and naturally observing the rules set by the Lord, which was a consensus among all dragons unless they intended to wage war.

Thus, the two young dragons used the Transformation Skill to turn into humanoid forms, a knowledge from Dragon Inheritance easily found by all dragons upon reaching youth, although generally, only the Green Dragon among the Five-Color Dragons favored humanoid form while the rest preferred their original shapes.

Red Copper Dragon Alfred transformed into a tall, slim young man with yellow-brown hair making him look underfed, whereas Bronze Dragon Alina became a tall and voluptuous young woman, her glistening green-blue hair under the sun giving her an exotic allure.

”Any other requirements, dear Guards,” Red Copper Dragon Alfred shrugged nonchalantly, jokingly.

”The Golden City welcomes you, noble True Dragons from afar,” Centaur Captain bowed in salute, signaling other guards to make way.

The two dragons in human form gracefully stepped into this burgeoning city.

The clean and grand appearance of the city and architectural planning made the two dragons dizzy, even the Imperial Capital Hobis of the Gata Empire seemed crowded due to excessive population and ongoing expansion plans.

Most importantly, it is clean; along the way, Green-skinned Goblins with armbands constantly cleaned trash with brooms, while others would catch people littering in the streets, pulling their sleeves to make them pay a five Copper Coin fine.

The two dragons couldn’t imagine dirty, stinky Green-skinned Goblins associated with cleanliness, hence their excitement along the way.

Upon entering the crowded streets, the differences between the two dragons became apparent; Red Copper Dragon focused on the dazzling peculiar goods and the merchants’ bulging wallets.

Bronze Dragon Alina was interested in the conversation among people and the various laws and ordinances posted on bulletin boards along the way, occasionally utilizing her alluring appearance and tall stature to entice patrolling sheriffs, hoping to learn more from them.

Naturally, one could not expect high morals or professional ethics from these monster beloveds, thus Bronze Dragon Alina gradually pieced together the general situation within the Giant Dragon Territory from many informants.

It made Bronze Dragon Alina more spirited as well.

”Look, Alina, ahead is the civil office governing this city, where the civil servant Fafnir mentioned by the beloved guards should be located,” Red Copper Dragon Alfred pointed at the tall, crowded building in front.

The two dragons walked towards it to see what was happening.

”What’s your name, what’s your skill, did you come alone,” a human registrar stood on the high steps, questioning a middle-aged man at the front of the crowd surrounded by soldiers below.
