Chapter 229: Chapter 164: Dreamlike Start

As Wu Chang had anticipated, the Abyssal Game not only matched him with an A-level dungeon but also a near out-of-control A-level dungeon.

A near out-of-control A-level dungeon wasn’t worth focusing on; it was the multiplayer competitive mode within the dungeon that caught his attention.

”Multiplayer Competitive Mode: Multiple factions exist within the dungeon. Players choose one faction to join and help this faction achieve its final goal. If the selected faction wins, the player will receive an additional 25% completion rate for the dungeon. If the faction loses, completion will be adjusted based on performance in the faction. Additional completion can increase total completion to a maximum of 75%, with any surplus converted into base dungeon rewards.”

”Note: In multiplayer competitive mode, players will not appear in the same safe zone upon entering. The competitive mode encourages player competition, so players who focus on the dungeon strategy should be careful to conceal their player identity.”

Concealing identities, grouping into different factions, and then competing among factions?

Wu Chang raised his eyebrows, it sounded interesting. The problem was that the game system did not automatically assign factions; it allowed players to choose which faction to join, and that was problematic.

What if all or most players joined one faction? What happens to the balance between the multiple factions?

To ensure the additional 25% completion, all players grouping together is the optimal choice. Then the so-called multiplayer competition just becomes a setup for players to boost completion.

He didn’t believe Abyss Players would be so charitable. There must be some potential restrictions for joining different factions.

Either there’s a limit on numbers, or the difficulty increases the more players are in a faction. In any case, trying to be opportunistic might backfire.

After analyzing the multiplayer competitive mode, Wu Chang turned his attention to the main quests.

”Main Quest One: Obtain a Star Jump ticket, spend the full course of the line on the ship, and reach the destination.”

”Main Quest Two: Discover the truth of the Silent Route.”

”Main Quest Three: Select a faction to join and help that faction become the ultimate winner.”

As expected of an A-level dungeon, there are three main quests.

When Wu Chang confirmed the main quests, his Master of Breaking the Game title activated.

”Current dungeon pollution value: 100.”

”Master of Breaking the Game attribute increase: 50%.”

With the increased effect of the Master of Breaking the Game, Wu Chang’s current Attribute Panel is:

Player Nickname: Doesn’t Eat Beef.

Player Level: 18 (2060/6500)

Title: Perfectionism, Master of Breaking the Game, True Walker.

Life: 62 (41)

Power: 56 (37)

Agility: 50 (33)

Endurance: 45 (30)

Energy: 82.5 (55)

Inspiration: 104

Will: 102

(Note: The values in parentheses are the attributes before the Master of Breaking the Game increase.)

Free Attribute Points: 0

Rotten Silver Coins: 2750.

Skills: Mamba Iron Elbow, Firearms Use (Proficient), Social Phobia, Elite Stealth, Iaido, Fighting Introduction (E).

Cultivation Technique: Thunder Skill Fragment (B), Advanced Space Magic (C).

Items: Dawn Hammer, Favor of the Goddess of Fortune, Whisperer’s Echo ×1, Mortal Poison, Soul Cleansing Banner, Four-sided Age Fire Lamp, Saint’s Legacy Mask, False Miracles, Golden Throne, Secret Technique Trial Badge, Report on Miracles and Willpower (1/3), Healing Type I ×3, Small Recovery Potion ×2, Energy Activation Potion ×2.

Talents: Exorcism, Calamity, Ocean Race Transformation, Miracle Guide.

The further the game progresses, the more powerful the percentage increase of the Master of Breaking the Game becomes. Amidst a near out-of-control dungeon, even without considering Inspiration and Will, just the Attribute Points of the five Body Attributes alone already rival those of an ordinary Level 30 player.

While he, as a balanced stats ”bucket character,” might not compare in extreme combat power to those players who specialize in single attributes, his balanced stats excel in adaptability, with no weak points, allowing more room for error and making it more challenging to be restricted by unique environments in strategy dungeons.

As for extreme combat power, don’t speak too soon—wait until he stacks up his Giant Whale Transformation.

As the Master of Breaking the Game activated, his other title also activated along with it.

”Title: True Walker”

”Title Effect: With this title equipped, players will only be matched with True Dungeons. The method of entering the dungeon will no longer be as an outsider but instead will replace an original resident of the dungeon, perfectly blending into the plane of the dungeon. Completion at dungeon settlement is increased by 15%, with this part of the additional completion able to increase total completion to 80% max, with any overflow converting into base dungeon rewards.”

Wu Chang looked at himself, finding his body had changed form, transforming from the slim muscular physique of a fitness influencer to a double-door muscle demon reminiscent of a pickle’s size. The distance between his shoulders alone was enough to exceed the starting fare of a taxi.

He was dressed in a white suit with a red tie. The workmanship and fabric were exquisite and clearly expensive,

Switching his phone to the front camera, the screen showed a middle-aged man of about thirty-seven or thirty-eight with a slicked-back hairstyle.

The man’s face was gentle and refined, yet inherently ferocious like a Predator. No matter what expression he tried—whether happy, angry, sad, or joyful—it constantly gave the impression he could turn his face and pull out a gun to shoot several holes into someone at any moment.

Behind him stood four double-door-sized men in black suits lined up, not only tall and strong but also with bulging suits filled with all sorts of gear, their capability written across their faces.

Based on his sense of Inspiration, these four bodyguards each had skills that were not inferior to a player at Level 27 or 28.
