Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 165: Chapter 143: Time to Get Up

In order to facilitate their actions, they bought two horses in the city yesterday, not expecting to use them so soon.

The two mounted the horses and were about to leave when the Ranger pulled the reins and stopped.

Lei Hu asked puzzled, ”What’s the matter?”

The Ranger said, ”Guang Zhi and his group are on guard against us, staying close together, making it hard to act. But that Countermeasures Bureau kid is alone; I plan to take him out amidst the chaos to prevent him from having any escape item and exposing us after leaving the dungeon.”

”Are you confident?” Lei Hu furrowed his brows, knowing the Ranger’s words were mere sweet talk, just to vent his resentment from the Peaceful Town incident.

According to the Ranger, that Management Bureau kid’s level wasn’t high. Before a dungeon, he could only huddle behind Sword Star to gain experience. Killing him isn’t difficult; the hard part is the current dangerous environment. The Ranger’s level is not high, even weaker than an orc, so don’t let it backfire.

The Ranger confidently said, ”I’m confident, but Brother Lei Hu, if you...”

”Your confidence is enough; let’s meet in the Sirena City District.” Lei Hu interrupted the Ranger and turned his horse to leave.

He had no grudge against the Management Bureau and didn’t want to get involved in such trouble; there’s no benefit in succeeding and big trouble in failing.

Seeing Lei Hu leave, the Ranger understood, identified his direction, and headed towards the cemetery no. 44 where Wu Chang was located.

Taking out Wu Chang wasn’t a sudden whim but the result of many days of preparation.

Last night and today, he had been surveilling Wu Chang.

Last night, the Gravekeeper who was with Wu Chang left with the Soul Light Sect people. Soon after, something happened on the Soul Light Sect’s side, and the entire Soul Light Cathedral went into lockdown, making it impossible for the former Gravekeeper to return shortly.

Today, while surveilling, he found that Wu Chang didn’t take any actions during the day; he just hid in the Gravekeeper’s hut, occasionally coming out to bask in the sun and get some air, then returning inside.

A typical young master player, who sucked his teammates’ blood and had no sense of the dungeon’s urgency, just wanting to hide at the safe point and muddle through the main quest one.

Now with the blood moon appearing and zombies rampaging, the Gravekeeper’s hut is incapable of defense; Wu Chang will definitely escape outside, making this undoubtedly the best opportunity to take him out.

On that day in the Peaceful Town Dungeon, almost none of the Management Bureau’s under-level-10 rookies died, but of the Iron Armor Corps brothers, only he survived.

There was no way those Management Bureau people were innocent; he couldn’t believe it even if the heavens declared it.

Unable to determine who was responsible, the only way to console his two brothers in the heavens was to take out everyone involved that day.

Just as the Ranger gritted his teeth, ready to deal with Wu Chang severely and ask what really happened in the Peaceful Town Dungeon, he suddenly felt a strong wind behind him.

Quickly using Hidden on the Stirrup, his body just moved away from the horse’s back, he saw several kunai at his previous sitting position.

Avoiding the attack brought him no joy, as he saw high-explosive grenades tied behind the kunai.

What modern version of explosive talisman.

Boom!

The massive explosion turned the horse into a mist of blood.

Wearing a thermal imaging device and holding a sniper rifle, Oda lay on a tree trunk beside the road, searching for the Ranger’s whereabouts.

Before he could detect anything suspicious, a chill came from behind, prompting him to jump back quickly.

In the next moment, a moon-shaped sword light severed the trunk where Oda was lying, even though he retreated in time, the sword light split his sniper rifle in two.

Under the tree, the Ranger sheathed his nearly two-meter-long samurai sword, looking at Oda with surprise.

”Why is it you?”

He initially thought it was Wu Chang discovering the surveillance and setting a trap to ambush him, not expecting the attacker to be the always silent ninja Oda.

Has this guy gone crazy? Why attack him?

Imagining himself in Oda’s shoes, the Ranger quickly conjured a reason: Could he be a nemesis of the Iron Armor Corps?

The Ranger felt a headache, knowing his own business best. The Iron Armor Corps’s domineering in the Desolate Realm had reached the point where even passing dogs would want to kick them. It’s no exaggeration to say they had enemies everywhere.

Every Iron Armor Corps member, when bullying small forces and independent players, was prepared to be inexplicably attacked, or even beaten by others unexpectedly. Oda just appeared at the wrong time.

”I’m in a hurry; can you let me go today?” the Ranger negotiated.

Oda removed his thermal imaging device, his already cold gaze filled with killing intent upon hearing the Ranger’s words.

”So you did find out.”

The Ranger: ”?”

What nonsense are you spouting, what did I find out?

Before he could voice his question, Oda had already made a move on the other side.

Oda split into three, summoning two clones, each holding a rocket launcher, rifle, and smoke grenade.

As the smoke grenade hit the ground, the irritating smoke quickly enveloped the Ranger, while the other two Oda donned thermal imaging devices, opened fire, and walked into the smoke.

For most Clone Skills, the clones produced, even if substantial, are extremely lacking in combat power.

Using modern weapons is the correct usage of Clone Skills.

Although the Ranger specialized in dungeon raids, being from the Iron Armor Corps, he frequently sparred, thus not lacking in battle experience against other players.

”Golden Bell!”

He immediately activated the protective item; a golden bell overturned on his body, blocking bullets and explosions.

Then he took off his wooden clogs, directly placed his bare feet on the ground, closed his eyes, and used his feet to sense the vibrations coming from the ground.
