Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

Chapter 449: Chapter 290: Disaster White Tiger

Starting today, no more slacking! Six thousand characters daily! I’ll complain if I can’t keep up.

I’m not splitting this into two chapters. A single, long and beefy chapter is more satisfying, right?

…]

Not far outside Jinshi Village, Su Zhi and his three treasures were training.

On a relatively flat stone slab, Su Zhi sat with his eyes closed in meditation, utterly silent.

This was the daily Meditation training of a Beast Tamer. After awakening his Tier Five Beast Taming Space, Su Zhi could clearly feel that his mental state during Meditation had become more “expansive.”

It was a wondrous sensation… as if his previous Meditation had been like fumbling his way down a narrow, winding path, but now it was like sprinting across a vast, open plain!

After a long bottleneck, having finally crossed the threshold to Tier Five, he had once again found that feeling of making rapid progress!

‘Su Zhi didn’t know how long this feeling would last, but it was always right to strike while the iron was hot and seize the opportunity to train.’

Whenever exhaustion set in, the thought of the impending final battle against the Earthquake Beasts would make Su Zhi grit his teeth, force himself to focus, and get back on the right track.

Training was always tedious, but a little more sweat now meant a little less blood on the battlefield later.

“Arf!” “Grrr!”

Nearby, Yu Bao and Wu Bao were also sparring.

However, unlike Su Zhi’s quiet, ascetic practice, this pair of rivals’ training had a completely different vibe.

“SWOOSH! SWOOSH!”

Yu Bao activated his Sand Manipulation Technique and leaped into the air. Gold and sand rapidly converged around him, coalescing into a Golden Sand Battle Saber that shot fiercely toward Wu Bao.

The Golden Sand Battle Saber carved a sharp arc through the air, seeming to slice through space itself. It looked just like a true sword, glinting with a cold, sharp light!

This was the latest version, one Yu Bao had adjusted numerous times.

By altering the arrangement and vibrational frequency of the sand and metallic particles, the Golden Sand Battle Saber’s air resistance in flight was further reduced. Its activation was also faster, giving its opponent less time to react.

Compared to the original Golden Sand Battle Saber, Yu Bao’s current Version 1.14514 was at least 30% more maneuverable!

“THUNK!”

The Golden Sand Battle Saber slammed into a tree, punching clean through a trunk that one person could barely wrap their arms around. Sunlight poured through the gaping hole, brightly illuminating the ground.

“CRASH—”

The overwhelmed trunk snapped, and the great tree came crashing down. A pitch-black shadow scurried past just as another Golden Sand Battle Saber flew by, grazing past it to strike the ground right behind.

“Woo!” Wu Bao felt a chill on his rear and glanced back, his heart still pounding with fear.

‘Phew, that was close. I almost got my ass reamed by that jerk Yu Bao.’

‘If he plays this dirty in training, Wu Bao didn’t even want to imagine what he’d pull on a real battlefield!’

“Arf!” On the other side, Yu Bao was stamping his paws in frustration.

‘That last attack was clearly aimed for Wu Bao’s head, and it didn’t even touch his tail.’

After his Agility had been boosted by two and a half times, Wu Bao’s movements became incredibly smooth. He could pull off sharp stops, quick turns, and feints with ease. Combining this with the Doubling skill to shrink his body made him even more formidable, like a tiger that had grown wings.

He was so proficient it was as if he hadn’t just gotten his stats boosted last night.

Even Yu Bao, who prided himself on being a Wise One, was completely disoriented by Wu Bao’s flashy, unpredictable movements.

The Golden Sand Battle Saber was the swiftest attack Yu Bao had at his disposal, yet he still couldn’t land a hit on Wu Bao from ten meters away.

‘Damn it! So his supposed “jungle experience” was just learning a million fancy ways to run for his life!’

“Woo~” Wu Bao corrected as he ran.

‘This is called mobile warfare!’

Then he glanced back, and Wu Bao froze.

An Earthquake Beast as large as a small hill was lumbering toward him, its abyssal maw cracked into a familiar, smug grin. Standing atop the Earthquake Beast’s head was Yu Bao, wearing the exact same grin.

“Waaaah!!!” With a cry of despair, Wu Bao turned tail and fled.

‘You bastard! So you resort to cheating when you can’t win, is that it?!’

“Arf! Arf! Arf!” Yu Bao pretended not to hear and commanded the Earthquake Beast to give chase relentlessly.

‘Controlling the Earthquake Beast is one of my abilities. How is that cheating?’

Seeing that his two treasures were getting more and more out of hand, an exasperated Su Zhi recalled them to the Beast Taming Space to cool off for a bit.

“Baichuan, you’ve been watching for a while now, haven’t you? Come on out.”

From behind a large tree that had narrowly escaped the destruction, Wang Baichuan timidly peeked out, holding up a basket. “Su Zhi, I… I brought you dinner…”

“Thanks. Just leave it over there.”

“Oh, okay. I won’t disturb you then. I’ll be going!”

Wang Baichuan departed as if fleeing for his life.

Su Zhi sighed with a soft chuckle and summoned the two treasures out again.

This was another reason he chose to train outside the village. For one, there was the Earthquake Beast. Even though it now served as Yu Bao’s mount, the villagers would never allow such a creature inside their walls.

On the other hand, if that chaotic duo, Yu Bao and Wu Bao, really went at it, they could probably tear down all of Jinshi Village. They’d put a Husky to shame.

Shan Bao was the most low-maintenance of the three, making absolutely no sound during training. But, uh…

Seeing Shan Bao lying with a look of pure bliss within one of Yu Bao’s Giant Fire Pillars, Su Zhi didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

‘This one’s style is even weirder.’

“Alright, that’s enough training for today! Time to chow down!”

“Arf!” “Woo!” “Chirp!”

Yu Bao and Wu Bao immediately stopped fighting. As for Shan Bao, it launched itself right out of the bonfire and used Instant Teleportation to appear at Su Zhi’s side.

Su Zhi handed out the food the villagers had prepared to his three treasures, then picked up a large bowl of rice for himself and started eating.

After a busy morning of work, even a simple meal tasted extraordinarily delicious.
