Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

Chapter 442: Chapter 286: Anti-Earthquake Beast Equipment

Its body was immense, its towering form exuding the oppressive presence of a small mountain. Compared to this Earthquake Beast, the one they had defeated together a while ago was nothing but small fry.

Just standing before it was enough to instill an instinctive sense of powerlessness.

‘Could a Giant Beast like this really be defeated?’

As if sensing his thoughts, Tuoba Jing offered a reminder. “Young friend, don’t be deceived by its appearance. From what I’ve observed, while ordinary Earthquake Beasts are indeed stronger the larger they are, this one seems to be a specialized variant. Its body is significantly larger, but it’s not as invincible as it appears.”

Su Zhi nodded. “I see!”

‘If its Energy Value were calculated based on its size like a regular Earthquake Beast, it would be at least Five-star… which is obviously ridiculous.’

‘Too bad my phone died, otherwise I could have scanned it.’

Tuoba Jing’s brow furrowed. “But you must not be careless, young friend. Just now, Fuyue was in peril, yet I couldn’t recall him to my Beast Taming Space, nor could I summon Zi Lu and Profound Yellow for support. I fear this Earthquake Beast has some ability that can seal off the Beast Taming Space!”

“What the fuck?” Su Zhi’s eyes went wide.

‘A Beast Tamer’s greatest advantage is the Beast Taming Space! If a fight is unwinnable, you can just recall your Pet Beast to save it from a fatal blow. And now you’re telling me this Earthquake Beast can just switch off a Beast Tamer’s primary life-hack?’

‘Who the hell designed such a broken monster! I want a refund!’

“CHIRP CHIRP!” Shan Bao patted Su Zhi’s shoulder.

“It’s fine. Flash Gold Teleportation can also be used for an emergency escape. But it’s a Skill, so it has size restrictions.”

Su Zhi reached out and rubbed Shan Bao’s head with his index finger, his cautious gaze fixed on the Earthquake Beast. “Everyone, stay on your guard. We’ll start with probing attacks. Don’t get hot-headed and overcommit!”

“ARF!” “WOOF!” Yu Bao and Wu Bao responded in unison.

In truth, Su Zhi didn’t need to remind them. Those two were the ultimate survivors, always with a thousand tricks up their sleeves.

Yu Bao was the first to act.

Relying on its uniquely gifted Energy Control Ability, Yu Bao could orchestrate multi-pronged and unpredictable attacks, leaving its opponents unable to defend.

It started with Magma Force Field!

Under Yu Bao’s control, the ground near the Earthquake Beast was instantly covered in crimson scorch marks. Burning earth enveloped the Giant Beast’s lower body, releasing immense heat.

After several days of practice, the Skill’s power was significantly greater than when it was last demonstrated!

However, the magma, which was powerful enough to melt a Yellow Earth Wall, was all thunder and no rain before the Earthquake Beast. The Giant Beast didn’t even flinch, showing no reaction to the attack whatsoever. It was enough to give Yu Bao high blood pressure.

‘Then let’s try this!’

“WHOOSH WHOOSH!”

The Burning Sand Blade followed, whistling through the air as it struck the Earthquake Beast. Compared to the Magma Force Field, the Burning Sand Blade did indeed cause visible damage, but that was the extent of it.

The bowl-sized gashes healed in an instant. The Earthquake Beast’s body was like quicksand—no matter how much effort you put into digging a hole, it would immediately be filled in by the surrounding sand.

“Its regenerative ability is insane…” Su Zhi’s brow furrowed even tighter.

‘It’s also way too durable. This is Yu Bao’s trump card, his best Output Skill, yet it had so little effect. Even the burning Effect from the Flame was minimal.’

‘Wait a minute…’

Seeing the faint golden shimmer on the Earthquake Beast’s body, Su Zhi’s eyes widened. “It’s Hardening and Immortal True Gold! Skill Level looks to be around Tier One!”

“???” Yu Bao was dumbfounded.

‘In other words, I’m basically fighting Shan Bao Plus?’

‘With this Earthquake Beast’s size and regenerative power, even if both Skills were only at Tier One Skill Level, there was no way I could take it down with just a Strong Attack…’

“Hmph.” Wu Bao shoved Yu Bao aside disdainfully.

‘That skinny dog who only plays with sand is already out of the meta. A real man fights up close and personal, like a knight!’

‘Watch my Lance Charge!’

Wu Bao charged. His gleaming horn cut a brilliant arc through the darkness, like a thunderbolt splitting the night sky.

“SQUELCH—!!”

Wu Bao had certainly achieved a more dramatic result. To the sickening sound of flesh being pierced, his nearly two-meter-long horn buried itself completely in the Earthquake Beast’s body. What a satisfyingly deep hit!

Wu Bao quickly glanced around. He saw Yu Bao’s shock, Shan Bao’s adoration, and Su Zhi’s surprise. His heart swelled with pride.

‘In this moment, I am my own hero!’

And then…

“WHIMPER WHIMPER WHIMPER!”

Wu Bao was crying for help. His horn was stuck in the Earthquake Beast’s body, and he couldn’t pull it out…

Yu Bao wore a mischievous grin, clearly enjoying this more than Wu Bao’s usual arrogance. In the end, Shan Bao couldn’t bear to watch and used Flash Gold Teleportation to yank Wu Bao free.

The moment he landed, Wu Bao scurried behind Yu Bao.

He had to admit, he might have been a little too cocky just now.

“Clara…” The Earthquake Beast advanced slowly toward the Pet Beasts, its body beginning to glow faintly—the prelude to an earthquake.

A bolt of azure lightning shot into the Giant Beast’s mouth, interrupting its Skill. While Su Zhi’s Pet Beasts were running their tests, Zi Lu had been circling the perimeter of the battlefield, providing cover fire.

“This is tough. We can’t seem to hurt it, and we can’t wear it down… Does this thing even have a weakness?” Su Zhi’s frown deepened.

“Every Exotic Beast has a weakness,” Tuoba Jing said instinctively, before giving a wry smile.

The weakness was actually quite clear: knock the Earthquake Beast over or get it airborne. But for a Giant Beast of this size, exploiting such a weakness was incredibly difficult.

Last time, they had barely managed to get the Earthquake Beast airborne through clever tricks; this time, it seemed next to impossible.

“This is difficult. Earthquake Beasts have never undergone such a drastic change before. Even if we know its weakness, it’s hard to see a path to victory…”

“No, Senior, we’re too focused on exploiting the Earthquake Beast’s known weaknesses, and it’s become a trap in our thinking. Perhaps… we should approach this from the perspective of the drastic changes the creature itself has undergone.”

Su Zhi suddenly looked at Tuoba Jing. “Senior. We can basically confirm that all Earthquake Beasts are the creations of some entity, not naturally occurring creatures, correct?”

“Of course,” Tuoba Jing replied without hesitation. He paused for a moment, then his eyes widened as he grasped Su Zhi’s meaning. “You’re saying these changes aren’t random, but were deliberately designed for the Earthquake Beast by that entity.”

“Exactly.”

Su Zhi clenched his fists. “It’s less of a change and more of… an evolution specifically to counter us. Precisely because the Earthquake Beast has the weakness of needing to keep its feet on the ground, its body has become enormous, making it even less likely to be knocked over or lifted into the air.”

Tuoba Jing felt a chill run down his spine, as if a bucket of ice water had been dumped over him. The thought was horrifying.

However, as a Beastmaster, he didn’t let his fear show. Instead, he took a deep breath to calm himself, his mind racing.

“Wait, if we follow your logic, young friend, then the Earthquake Beast’s evolution follows a pattern. Do its newly acquired Hardening and Immortal True Gold Skills also correspond to another weakness?”

“That makes sense.”

Su Zhi’s eyes lit up. “A senior from the Divine Strategy Alliance once said that evolution is a never-ending process, because no perfect form exists in this world.”

“You also mentioned that you’ve never seen an Earthquake Beast this big before… I think that indirectly proves that maintaining such a massive body must come at a corresponding price. And for this Earthquake Beast to learn Hardening and Immortal True Gold to compensate for that price, it might be precisely because…”

“It has actually become vulnerable to Strong Attacks!”

The two of them spoke almost in unison.

Tuoba Jing frowned. “But as you saw, our Strong Attacks just now didn’t get us anywhere…”

Su Zhi blinked. “Could it be that our Strong Attacks… just weren’t strong enough?”

Tuoba Jing opened his mouth, then closed it again, at a loss for words.

‘But that actually made a lot of sense.’

Su Zhi immediately turned to Yu Bao. “Yu Bao? Any ideas?”

“WOOF!” Yu Bao nodded excitedly.

‘Does he ever!’

Then, Yu Bao shoved Wu Bao out from behind him. “Woof woof.”

‘Hey, good buddy. Do me a favor and buy me some time.’

“%*@#…” Wu Bao was clearly not thrilled, but under Shan Bao’s adoring gaze, he bit the bullet and accepted the task.

“ARF!”

‘A mere Earthquake Beast is nothing to me!’

After his tough talk, Wu Bao turned tail and ran.

“Clara!”

“WHIMPER WHIMPER WHIMPER!”

The Earthquake Beast chased Wu Bao off into the distance.

Meanwhile, Yu Bao closed his eyes, and a Golden Light enveloped his body.

Under his focused control, particles of metal and grains of sand began to arrange and assemble themselves in an orderly fashion…
