Chapter 921: Chapter 903: The Scale-less Demon King

”What is your intention in harboring the desire to kill?”

The humming ceased.

The scaleless and strange white dragon turned around, facing the man and the cat at the palace entrance.

Lann’s cold and unwavering killing intent provoked him, but more importantly, it challenged his authority.

”Harboring the desire to kill me! The King and the Divine Beings!”

Ausloes, in fury, appeared to tremble, even with the arm holding something akin to an infant.

But when he turned around, Lann and Rong Buqiu saw that his arm actually held nothing at all.

”I am not your subject, Your Majesty.”

The Demon Hunter spoke, expressionless, as he retrieved several glass bottles from the alchemy pouch at his waist and drank the contents.

”So when I see a King who disregards his subjects as mere research subjects, spreading unexplained results upon them, it is normal for killing intent to emerge from the depths of anger and contempt... right?”

Lann’s tone was gentle and calm, but in this room blanketed by a layer of white mist, his words and the emotions within them sent shivers down one’s spine.

”In truth, I have no reason to harm you, Your Majesty. After all, you’re merely losing your mind here on your own. But the Priestess Emma’s other commission requires me to traverse this room to reach deeper into the building.”

”I suppose you wouldn’t let an unknown outsider deep into your bedchamber?”

Ausloes did not respond to the question, he merely pointed his dragon-shaped head at Lann, and grasped a magic staff from the ground that matched his stature.

This was a clear signal of his stance.

Lann’s lips curled into a cold smile.

The potent effects and toxins of [Greater Thunder], [Greater Blizzard], and [Greater Tawny Owl] erupted within him.

His skin turned snow-white, devoid of color, and around his eyes became pitch-black due to the intense toxins.

Lann’s breath expelled through his gritted teeth, carrying warmth.

”If you do not agree, so be it. Or rather... perfect.”

The intent to kill became resolute and clear.

Both parties were keenly aware of this fact.

At this moment, Ausloes dropped the tone of being offended and angry, once again becoming rational and deep.

He shook his head in resignation.

”Oh, foolish ones, when will you understand the strength and worth of my beloved son, Othello—the Dragon Child?”

Ausloes wasn’t angry now; he merely sighed, lamenting the world’s inability to comprehend his greatness.

”The strength and worth of your youngest son, or even his existence, can be discussed later.”

Lann drew his long blade, spinning it elegantly in his hand.

”But today, let’s settle the score first. Saint King of Losric... no, Demon King.”

”Impudent!”

The White Dragon Demon King Ausloes roared, one arm still curved as if cradling a child, holding it close to his chest.

The other arm wielding the staff struck the ground.

”Rong Buqiu!”

Lann concisely called out, then promptly kicked the small cat beside him.

The Elu Cat, in complete sync, propelled itself off the kicked leg, darting gracefully away for ten meters.

Spiral currents also wrapped around Lann’s legs, flickering like light smoke after swiftly vanishing.

Where they had stood, dense white mist rose from the ground.

Along with the rising mist, a corrosive ’sizzle’ sound emerged from that spot.

The stone bricks and soil on the ground were rapidly dissolving under the inconspicuous white mist.

If there were living beings there, they would soon be left only as bits of armor.

However, with his combat nerves fully activated and enhanced after the magic potion concoction, in Lann’s eyes,

this white smoke was abrupt during its activation, yet not completely unpredictable.

”Clang!”

Under the blessing of [Acceleration Technique], Lann appeared again, right before the Demon King!

He thought his assault could take advantage of this moment to deliver a harsh blow to this strange scaleless white dragon.

But as Lann steadied himself, he suddenly discovered a huge and heavy magic staff descending upon him!

Ausloes’s white dragon form reached a length of fifteen meters, and the staff perfectly complemented his size.

The staff head, resembling twisted tree roots, was about as large as a person!

Lann saw the person-sized staff casting a shadow above him, eyes slightly widening before reverting to normal.

After all, even if Ausloes was mad, crazed, he was still a Divine Race who survived over tens of thousands of years, and Losric’s King.

Reacting instinctively to an enemy’s assault, for him, should not be difficult.

Lann could fully accept this, and he could also counter it.

”Dang!”

Pale red Fighting Spirit Light Flame erupted from his entire body under the external pressure of the descending staff.

His quick charging body, in an instant, appeared as lightweight as a sheet of paper.

Pushed aside by the enemy’s attack.

[Tachi Technique—Mikiru]!

The size and appearance of Ausloes ultimately made Lann decide to use the techniques of New Continent Hunters to hunt monsters against him.

A layer of light red Fighting Spirit Light Flame covered Aron Dite.

After the ultra-fast evasive maneuver caused by [Mikiru], swinging around, he chopped at Ausloes’s standing calf.

”Slash!”

The blade of the Divine-made Armament tore through the rubber-like skin of the bizarre Scaleless White Dragon, spilling a splash of blood.

The Fighting Spirit on the blade also compressed and condensed with this slash, forming a layer of white fluorescence over the blade.

[Blade Opening—White Blade State]!

The Tachi technique of New Continent Hunters fascinated Lann for one reason: once the blade is opened, the Fighting Spirit attached to the blade continuously provides additional cutting power, even a casual slash, until the Qi Blade on the blade is exhausted.

”Aaaah!”

Ausloes cried out in pain because of the wound on his leg.

He might have been a powerful Warrior, a strong Divine Race King.

But after becoming what he is now, regardless of whether his physical qualities have risen or declined due to Dragon transformation, the mental problems are already serious enough.

A good mental and psychological state can grant higher endurance, better rationality, and calmness in sudden danger and pain, enabling one to face and solve problems.

But once the mental state collapses, even previously insignificant issues or small wounds will seem unbearable when faced again, leading to losing rationality and breakdown.

Lann didn’t believe that Ausloes, over his tens of thousands of years of life, hadn’t endured wounds in battles that could make one wish to die.

Yet now, that calf wasn’t even severed by him.

And Ausloes was already yelling like he was going mad.

His Magic Staff was still strong, his legs still agile, but his tactical judgment, rational thinking... no longer matched this level of power.

”Taste this, meow!”

Rong Buqiu, who had been tirelessly harassing with boomerangs from the side, suddenly threw a round ball amidst the boomerang rhythm.

Lann didn’t know if Ausloes in a normal state would notice it in battle, but without a doubt, he couldn’t notice it now.

”Boom!”

The round ball thrown by Rong Buqiu exploded above Ausloes’s head, scattering a yellow-green thick mist from the burst sphere.

Following this, Lann, having just dodged the opponent’s Magic Staff smashing on the ground, first hopped back a step, then snapped fingers with his left hand that wasn’t holding the sword.

[Igni Rune]

”Boom!”

The small spark from the Rune ignited the flammable oil mist scattered by the [Advanced Dragon’s Dream] bomb.

In an instant, this Alchemy Bomb, embodying the wisdom of Demon Hunters and Alchemists, enveloped the upper body of the scaleless bizarre White Dragon in raging flames.

”Aaah!”

He screamed furiously.

Even flapped the small wings growing from his back waist, lifting his entire body into the air, then slammed down hard!

Ausloes’s strength was immense, and Lann was well-aware.

But without rationality, without strategy, what is the point of strength that can’t hit anyone?

That’s just providing necessary external pressure for the [Tachi Technique] of Demon Hunters to be executed.

”Ding!”

[Mikiru] was perfectly executed again, with Lann using the airwave from Ausloes’s downward smash.

His whole body, flashing light red Fighting Spirit Light Flame, skimmed the edge of the airwave like a car crash, followed by [Air Blade Grand Spin], turning the fluorescence on the blade into light red.

[Blade Opening—Red Blade State]!

The Demon Hunter coldly watched the increasingly berserk White Dragon King.

Countless unsuccessful attacks, though not seriously injured but continuously adding new wounds to himself...

These failures in battle undoubtedly aggravated his already unstable spirit, making him more frantic.

Ausloes’s strength, objectively speaking, was undoubtedly ’advanced’.

Lann was at maximum alert for this Saint King of Losric from the start.

After all, since entering this world, the great reputation of this King had been constantly reaching his ears.

So in the previous battle, Lann hadn’t given him any chance for direct confrontation.

The opponent’s Magic Staff never clashed with the Lady of the Lake’s Sword, every attack completely dealt with by Lann’s techniques.

Evasion, side dodge, feint leading...

The opponent’s white fog only occasionally brushed past Lann’s [Quen Rune].

But even then, Lann could sense: this legendary King, his power indeed deserved to be called ’advanced’.

[Quen Rune] in the face of ordinary Magic and physical attacks, while not able to withstand all, could at least play a blocking role.

Even if it was broken, it was due to the opponent’s power exceeding the Rune’s tolerance limit.

But Ausloes’s Magic was completely different...
