Bear School Astartes

By the time Lann and Lorenzo rushed back to the position of the Knight Captain and Priestess Emma, their situation was not optimistic.

The Knight Captain Maruk, who was supposed to leave, had turned back.

Now his sword was shining with a few pure white bright spots, just like Lorenzo’s at the time.

[Miracle · Blessed Weapon], this is a Magic that must be learned by the higher-ups of the Losric Knight Order.

But now, it was a miracle originally narrated by the clergy to maintain the Divine Beings and the First Flame. They were now slaughtering each other internally.

”Clang!”

A loud bang sounded as the swords of the Knight Captain and Knight Captain Maruk clashed, producing an explosive sound!

They were both powerful knights of the Losric Knight Order, and excluding their positions, their personal bravery was hard to distinguish.

And it was not just the two high-ranking knights who were slaughtering each other.

When Maruk returned, he had already connected with the Mages sent by the Sages, and there were also many soldiers and knights among them.

These people were sent to be on the high wall, taking the opportunity of the Priestess and Knight Captain meeting, ready to eliminate them all in one go.

Although the Knight Captain had also brought loyal guards from the Inner City to the high wall and could deploy the Losric Knights stationed there,

they ultimately could not match the enemy’s well-prepared ambush.

”Traitors! Traitors of the Knight Order!”

”You are the disgrace of knights who have betrayed the Royal Family!”

The knights accused each other while fighting fiercely.

The camaraderie was long gone, eroded during the prolonged disagreement, with knights supporting the advancement of the Fire Transmission Ceremony, or knights remaining loyal to their oaths...

Once the first sword was stained with blood, the so-called Losric Knight Order was destined to split.

Next was a civil war!

”Creak~”

The blade, under exceptional skills and formidable strength, slashed into steel, with the pressure deforming the quality armor, pushing it to the brink, and finally tearing open a slit amidst screams, cutting into the flesh beneath the armor.

The quality full-body plate armor of the Losric Knights looked like this, so naturally, the soldiers’ crude armor of mixed leather and chain mail was not reliable either.

The battle cries and the explosive roars of war techniques moving air intertwined.

White afterimages representing Soul Power were pulled out behind the knights with their movements.

Following them, their strength overturned bricks, slashed the ground, and cut through stone pillars!

This chosen meeting place, originally a large platform on the high wall, surrounded by many buildings constructed from wood and stone materials,

had turned into a dual-use facility for military and civilians, due to constant battles outside the Losric high wall, which no enemy had ever managed to burn into the homeland.

But once the knights broke into a full-scale battle after the conflict erupted, in the blink of an eye, no building taller than a person’s waist remained on this platform.

They were all chopped down and smashed!

”Maruk!”

Arriving at the scene, Lorenzo, upon discovering that the primary targets were indeed the Knight Captain and the Priestess, immediately erupted into a furious battle shout.

He charged forward, carrying his Losric Knight’s Greatsword on his shoulder!

But Lann was not as reckless; he first noticed the Mages holding Magic Staffs not far off the high wall.

These Mages were able to recklessly cast Magic from afar, intending to aid the side they supported in this chaos.

Needless to say, the Mages in Losric City were primarily from the Sages’ faction.

Rather than getting involved in the chaotic melee of Losric Knights, Lann preferred to eliminate external factors first.

Spiral air currents swirled on his legs, initiating the [Acceleration Technique].

”Stop him, that big guy!”

The Mages not far away shouted immediately, each starting to cast their Magic.

The first attack was still a blazing blue arrow; on the way here with Lorenzo, the Knight Captain from the Fire Transmission faction had briefly introduced to Lann the Magic characteristics of the Losric Sages.

As Lann speculated, this world’s Magic focuses on the soul.

The official name for this blazing blue arrow is [Giant Soul Arrow].

It is a technique that shapes one’s own soul and then fires it.

Lann was a bit dumbfounded when he heard this.

Using one’s soul to shape an arrow to fire, naturally, can harm the soul.

But who uses their soul as a missile to shoot out?

Isn’t the soul important?

But seeing Lorenzo’s nonchalant manner and considering the peculiar source and nature of ’soul’ in this world’s context... they might truly not care.

Here, the soul is more akin to an energy that can be replenished and transferred.

However, because of this, Lann had no intention of being hit by this world’s Magic or even grazed.

Who knows what effect these soul-based Magic might have on an Otherworldly Person like him!

Fortunately... he was much faster than those Mages!

’Whoosh’!

The claw of the Projector on his arm shot out, pulling in a Mage who had come within its range.

The speed of the Projector’s launch and retraction was far faster than the flight speed of the [Giant Soul Arrow].

With a tug from Lann’s arm, the recoiling projector hook lock directly pulled the mage onto the flight path of the Giant Soul Arrow!

With a ”whoosh,” the giant arrow formed by blue light shattered into a cloud of light particles, and then even the particles quickly disappeared.

And that mage who was pulled over had already turned into a motionless and woundless corpse.

Before the body hit the ground, Lann had already grabbed its neck from behind.

Then, as if throwing a baseball, he hurled the body towards another mage.

The sound of two bodies colliding was accompanied by the dull crack of bones breaking.

The two bodies rolled into a heap and fell outside the high walls of Losric.

The mage who hadn’t completely died let out a long scream as he fell from the height after Losric lifted, even creating an echo.

Lann’s swift actions in a blink of an eye took down two mages, clearly startling the mages.

They began frantically preparing to relocate.

Meanwhile, a few others gritted their teeth and unleashed new magic.

Their magic staffs swayed above their heads, and then a blue halo appeared at the staff’s tip, detaching from the staff and transforming into five small blue light spheres, which floated as if in a static state behind the caster.

Tracking Soul Block, as the name suggests, is a spell that automatically tracks enemies.

It is a fragment achievement left by Logan, the Great Hat, during the Divine Era.

The state attracted to life seems akin to what is called ’darkness.’

A spell long lost at Pheim Dragon Academy, yet among the Losric sages who have acquired the Great Library, it’s only considered ’medium level.’

The five light balls hovered behind the casters briefly before elongating, flying towards Lann.

During this time, Lann squinted slightly and subtly altered his trajectory.

Mentos synchronized to observe the legendary ’life-attracting soul block.’

”Flight path deflection rate is 16%, sir. It seems the tracking ability of this magic isn’t too high.”

With Lann’s slight step adjustment as additional data, the bio-intellect instantly reached a data-driven conclusion.

This magic indeed has tracking ability, but it’s manageable.

With a ”zzzz,” the leather soles fiercely rubbed against the stone bricks.

Lann adopted one of Mentos’s suggestions for response.

He merely shifted a little in the opposite direction right before the Tracking Soul Block was about to strike him.

As a result, the five blue beams narrowly missed him!

With speed unabated, Lann was instantly in front of the mage who released the Tracking Soul Block.

With a hand stretched out, he clapped the mage’s face with a ”bang.”

In the very next moment, the head was smashed against the walls of Losric.

It burst like a watermelon, leaving splatters of blood that spread across the wall.

Releasing the now limp, merely convulsing corpse with ease.

Lann cast a gaze towards the steps below.

The mages who initially started to flee scattered had already steadied their footsteps, preparing to cast spells again.

The Demon Hunter shook his head, clicking his tongue in regret.

”Tsk, I was hoping to save some resources.”

With that, his hand reached for the alchemy pouch at his back waist.

When he extended it again, a menacing and fierce Heavy Crossbow Cannon, Roar of the Roaring Dragon, appeared!

The savage and primitive patterns of the Roaring Dragon seemed perfectly suited on the Heavy Crossbow Cannon.

Lann raised the Heavy Crossbow Cannon, slightly aiming below, and then...

”Boom boom boom!”*10

A standard magazine of the Heavy Crossbow Cannon holds ten regular rounds.

Under Lann’s weapon control ability, each round precisely created a large cavity on the bodies of those mages.

Some had half a shoulder and neck blown off, while others were split in two from the chest.

The New Continent Hunters’ gear was originally designed, manufactured for hunting giant monsters with unimaginably immense life force.

It’s hard to say what effect it would have against Losric Knights, who wield the Power of Soul, but against a group of frail mages, it could scrape off a few pounds of flesh.

Each of the ten standard rounds perfectly achieved its firing target.

With continuous firing speed, Lann even appeared somewhat casual.

Precisely moving arms, rapidly switching targets, conducting tactical evaluations during shooting, predicting enemy’s movement route choices...

In terms of marksmanship alone, Interstellar Warriors are generally impeccable.

After all, in Memory Deep Dive, the feel of explosive guns is quite similar to this.

Ten mages instantly turned into scattered, bloody, meat chunks ’whooshing’ to the ground.

Utterly shattered.

However, Lann’s expression wasn’t cheerful.

Because to him, he only remembered having ten magazines; now one has been emptied...

Isn’t this running out of ammo soon?!
