Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 1321: Target: Xingzhou City

Mu Xinfei led her people and stood on a hill. She looked at Cloud Peak’s forces leave and couldn’t calm herself down for some time.

When she knew Ye Zhongming’s goal was all the mutated lifeforms in a city, her first reaction was disbelief.

In the apocalypse, cities didn’t belong to humans but mutated lifeforms.

Most cities had zombies and other mutated lifeforms coexisting. When the apocalypse started, the huge population caused the number of zombies to be huge. Next would be large amounts of pets and stray animals like cats and dogs. Third was often the bugs and pests.

Around the cities were various types of mutated animals.

Of course, don’t forget that there were terrifying mutated plants.

Maybe some beasts occupied a part of the city.

The human camps were rarely in cities. They were basically in the suburbs or wheel regions that were easy to defend.

Those big factions, be it Resistance Zone or Glory Army, could occupy a city. But they wouldn’t do that. That would mean a huge war, an all-out war.

They had to place the fate of the entire organisation on it.
They were afraid of losses and wouldn’t do things that might hurt themselves.

The Ying City mutated lifeforms reduced, but that was a special situation. Talking Lady and Red Hair appeared, and after many large-scale battles, there weren’t mutated lifeforms apart from the mutated rats.

But even if they were lucky, how many humans died in that battle? How many Posthumous People warriors died?

If not for Ye Zhongming’s ability, Cloud Peak would be thrashed.

But now, Cloud Peak’s goal was a city, Xingzhou City.

It was a… Third-rate City.

This city had close to five million people and two million people in the city center.

Two million people would mean at least a million zombies. That didn’t include the other mutated lifeforms.

Three years had passed, so the zombie horde situation here was unknown. It might have reduced, but they were definitely stronger. If you were lucky, there might be even more zombies. The number of mutated lifeforms in the city was huge; there were many survivors, too, which meant more food. The zombies in the surrounding villages might also enter the city.

Such a city would have over two million lifeforms, and Cloud Peak wanted to occupy it?

They were crazy!

Mu Xinfei couldn’t understand Cloud Peak’s decision even if they had won with zero losses.

She wanted to see how Cloud Peak would do what they planned. But Cloud Peak chased her away.

Not only Mu Xinfei. The scouts were asked to leave.

Cloud Peak’s intentions were obvious. Leave now, and we will still be friends. If you continue to spy, we will be enemies.

No one would offend Cloud Peak and Ye Zhongming, who might be the strongest in the country for this.

Thus, many people waited quietly for the outcome of this battle.

Many things and attitudes would be decided after this battle.

………………………………………………

Others were looking at Cloud Peak but didn’t have time to care. The squads that headed out were very busy.

Checking equipment, familiarising with the map, scouting enemies, clearing the area…

Cloud Peak and its allies had to do endless amounts of things.

Outsiders weren’t too optimistic and thought Cloud Peak was too arrogant. But they were confident. Behind that confidence was everyone’s seriousness.

The main battle squads were all here. If anything happened in this battle, Cloud Peak would suffer huge losses.

Thus, there were strict and secret plans. When they arrived here, everyone was very solemn and nervous.

Only the Exquisite Floating Ball was in the skies above Xingzhou City. Yangos and Red Hair were on the ground. After Cloud Peak set up camp, they tried to avoid provoking the mutated lifeforms in the city.

But the small-scale battles continued. Even if they controlled the scale of people that were clearing the battlefield, these hundred thousand humans gave off a scent that drew many mutated lifeforms over to hunt.

Three days later, Cloud Peak barely managed to clear a five-kilometer zone.

“Boss!”

Early in the morning, Little Tiger was first to come to a temporary meeting room. The other core members and faction leaders also rushed over.

Everyone knew that today was the start of the battle.

Mo Ye and Guang Yao handed the mission of each battle squad to them. These were fixed after studying the exact situation of the city, which was very detailed.

What was their goal, where did they have to be, what kinds of mutated lifeforms were there, how many were there, and which battle squads were around? Where the support forces will be. What to do when they face accidents. What outcome should they get in a certain amount of time…

Everything was recorded clearly.

Seeing the plan in everyone’s hands, everyone realised that battles could be fought like that.

“Accidents are unavoidable, but if the situation gets out of hand, we must deal with it to get the outcome we want.”

Mo Ye looked at the hundreds of battle squad leaders and Posthumous People tribe leaders.

“If there is something you can’t decide, fire the signal bullets, and people will contact you. Contact the commanders, and the solution will be passed on to you quickly. So don’t panic no matter what.”

Guang Yao added. This was the largest-scale battle he had led since the start of the apocalypse. He was always calm and composed, but he was very nervous now. He was also very excited.

In the battle, he will be the overall person in charge. Ye Zhongming, Mo Ye, etc., would be warriors who would listen to him.

This was trust and also responsibility.

Next were some details and time for questions. Everyone made their final preparations, and the meeting room quieted down after an hour. Everyone’s goal was placed in the center position, on Ye Zhongming, who hadn’t said a single word.

He was everyone’s leader.

Ye Zhongming stood up, looked around, and said solemnly, “Good luck. The Xingzhou City alley battle begins now!”
