Alchemy Master

Chapter 944, The Mu Family

“Never mind. As long as Mu Yanzhen and Qin Yichen aren’t in the Sacred Land, that’s fine…” After pausing, a smile curved at the corner of Yu Qianqiu’s mouth as he thought to himself.

Truthfully, although Qin Yichen had spoken thus previously, he was still worried that Li Yuanba and Mu Yanzhen might have some mishap. These two powder kegs: Qin Yichen and Mu Yanfeng, could explode at any moment. It was better they were thrown far away before anything major happened.

By the time they returned from participating in the Heaven Stairway, at least half a year would have passed. If they were selected by Saints Heavenly Manor, that time would be even longer.

…

“Brother Yichen, where is the Heaven Stairway?” On the journey towards the Saints City Transport Array, Feng Qianxue asked curiously.

“Saints Heavenly City.” Qin Yichen’s gaze lifted slightly, looking towards the distant horizon as he softly uttered the name of a city that countless Humans revered with awe.

That was where the Saints Heavenly Manor that guarded these countless kilometres of Human territory was located!

“Does Brother Yichen want to enter Saints Heavenly Manor?” Feng Qianxue seemed somewhat worried, afraid of being separated from Qin Yichen.

“Silly girl, that’s not somewhere just anyone can enter.” Qin Yichen pinched her jade-like nose.

In his previous life, he had entered Saints Heavenly Manor because he became an Alchemy Saint. Now, he dare not guarantee he could be selected.

On the other hand, Feng Qianxue had a high probability of being chosen.

“Hey, you two, could you consider my feelings please?” Watching them being affectionate with each other, Mu Yanfeng’s face darkened.

As a ‘single dog’, he felt deeply wounded.

Qin Yichen pursed his lips and asked casually, “Senior Brother Mu, presumably you come from quite a formidable background, right?”

“Haha, I am from the Mu Family. It’s not exactly a Major Force, barely able to establish a foothold in Sacred Lands territory without being bullied.”

Mentioning his own Family, Mu Yanfeng immediately smiled lightly. In his eyes, there was a trace of longing. Since entering Brilliant Sky Sacred Land over ten years ago, he had never once returned to his Family.

“The Mu Family?” Qin Yichen blinked. He did not seem to have heard of them before. Even if their strength was not weak, they were probably a Second Tier Force or something.

“In a while, we’ll need to use the Transport Array there. When the time comes, I hope Junior Brother and Junior Sister will visit my humble home.” Mu Yanfeng chuckled, “To reach Saints Heavenly City, we need to cross over several Sacred Lands. Even with Transport Arrays, we’ll need to change over a dozen times.”

…

During the several days of travel, Qin Yichen also journeyed while immersing himself in the speed at which he absorbed the Sun Spiritual Essence and Moon Spiritual Essence after his Supreme Tyrant Body reached the Partially Accomplished Stage.

Compared to before, his current absorption speed was several times faster.

During these few days, the three had already passed through two Transport Arrays, arriving in an unfamiliar territory tens of thousands of kilometres from Brilliant Sky Sacred Land.

“Nearly at the Mu Family?” Suddenly, Qin Yichen sensed that Mu Yanfeng, who was flying ahead, trembled slightly. His eyes also looked towards the distant horizon. In that remote distance, there seemed to be the outline of a blurred city emerging at the edge of vision.

“Ahead is Mu Family Fort, the largest city in this thousand kilometres region.”

While rushing towards that blurred city outline, Mu Yanfeng’s voice also rang beside the two’s ears.

“When I left, my Eldest Uncle was already at Mid Stage Martial Ancestor. So many years have passed. I wonder if he’s broken through.”

As they approached the city, anticipation appeared on Mu Yanfeng’s face.

Since he entered Brilliant Sky Sacred Land, the Mu Family had received considerable resources rewarded by Brilliant Sky Sacred Land. After he became Sacred Master Candidate, these resources had directly made the Mu Family the overlord of this region.

Not having returned to his Family for over a decade, even with Mu Yanfeng’s composure, his emotions could not help but fluctuate slightly.

Qin Yichen and Feng Qianxue nodded, naturally having no objections. Moreover, they still needed to use the Transport Array here to reach the next location.

In just a moment, the three arrived above the city, then their figures moved and descended towards outside the city gates.

The city before their eyes was quite magnificent. The city walls cast from black stone were a full four to five meters tall. Through the walls, one could see numerous buildings about ten-plus meters high rising from within the city.

This city, though somewhat inferior compared to Saints City, far surpassed places like Heavenly Dragon Imperial City in both scale and vitality.

“Hm?” Just as they descended, Qin Yichen uttered a surprised sound, a trace of puzzlement flashing across his face.

“Brother Yichen, what’s wrong?” Feng Qianxue immediately noticed Qin Yichen’s unusual reaction and asked somewhat puzzled.

“Something seems off. Be careful.” Qin Yichen furrowed his brows, reminding her.

“Off?” Feng Qianxue was somewhat shocked. This was Mu Yanfeng’s Mu Family Fort. With him, a Sacred Master Candidate from Brilliant Sky Sacred Land, here, absolutely no Force in the surrounding territory would dare provoke them. How could something be off?

“According to what Senior Brother Mu said, the Mu Family’s Patriarch should be a Mid Stage Martial Ancestor. However, in this city, there’s the aura of a Late Stage Martial Ancestor.”

Qin Yichen said with a somewhat grave expression. A Late Stage Martial Ancestor, even Mu Yanfeng would probably choose to avoid confrontation, unless he wishes to use up all his methods to deal with such an enemy!

“Perhaps it’s Senior Brother Mu’s Eldest Uncle who broke through.” Feng Qianxue smiled sweetly and said.

Qin Yichen’s eyes narrowed slightly. In the end, he still shook his head.

In this city, he could detect dozens of Martial Ancestor auras. Even with Brilliant Sky Sacred Land’s resources, it should not be enough for the Mu Family to produce this many Martial Ancestors in just over ten years, right?

“Hm, strange. Why doesn’t this city even have guards?” While walking with the crowd towards Mu Family Fort’s interior, Feng Qianxue also said with some surprise.

Hearing this, Mu Yanfeng ahead also suddenly stiffened. His consciousness spread out. Then his expression changed drastically as he said in a low voice to the two, “Junior Brother Qin, quickly follow me.”

At this moment, even the slow-reacting Feng Qianxue knew that something unusual seemed to be happening here.

Qin Yichen said nothing, his body shifting slightly closer to Feng Qianxue’s front as they moved.

Under the three’s footsteps, they soon passed through several wide streets in the city, arriving at a street in the city centre.

At the end of the street stood a residence. That residence resembled a small fortress, clearly the Mu Family’s headquarters.

Looking ahead, on those towering walls, every few metres there were patrol defence installations. Faint cold glints occasionally flickered from some concealed corners of the walls.
