Alchemy Master

Chapter 934, Nine Illusions Life Extinguishing Flower

Even among the Myriad Races renowned for their prowess in Spiritual Energy, the Illusion Demon Clan were specialists in mental manipulation. Even amongst them, one should be able to count on one hand those at the Earth Grade capable of contending with Qin Yichen’s Spiritual Energy.

The Spiritual Energy at the Peak of Earth Grade represented a threshold. One step further, and he would possess the Spiritual Energy of a Heaven Grade Alchemist. This was enough to become an Elder in any Sacred Land.

This was also a watershed for Spiritual Energy. Once crossed, its potency would increase exponentially. At that point, through Spiritual Energy alone, he could contend with ordinary Martial Ancestors.

“For the time being, you shall cultivate here.” Yu Qianqiu said with a light smile, though his expression carried considerable gravity. “I must warn you though. Should you get lost within the illusion, even I can only summon you through the Divine Jade after three months have passed. So, whether you can awaken depends entirely on your own ability.”

“Sacred Master, rest assured!” Qin Yichen smiled, his face showing neither fear nor hesitation. With his Spiritual Energy cultivation and attainment, he should possess some measure of self-preservation within the illusion of a single Nine Illusions Life Extinguishing Flower.

Moreover, though confident, he understood the difficulty of ascending the Heaven Stairway was certainly not low. In this brief half-year period, he had no other choice.

If he was too fearful, he was destined never to become a true expert. Only by shriving towards his original goal, fearless and undaunted, could he hope to rise.

Seeing Qin Yichen’s response, Yu Qianqiu nodded with a trace of appreciation. Then, with a wave of his sleeve, a rainbow light shot forth, landing upon the cave entrance.

*Hum…*

Instantly, a light screen flickered into existence at the pitch-black cave mouth, covered with mystical runes. Finally, as the runes circulated, they revealed a gap large enough for one person to pass through.

“Qin Yichen, once inside, you must guard your heart. Do not get lost in the illusion!” Seeing Qin Yichen preparing to enter, Yu Qianqiu’s brow furrowed as he offered another warning.

Qin Yichen nodded, his figure flashing through the gap.

*Hum…*

Within the pitch-black cave, an intoxicating floral fragrance permeated the entire space. A peculiar fluctuation enveloped everything, and under this shroud, even with Qin Yichen’s vision, he could see only a short distance ahead. A hazy sensation made even his consciousness somewhat dazed.

“Fortunately, Ancestors established a barrier here. Otherwise, the entire Brilliant Sky Sacred Land. No, perhaps even the surrounding regions would be affected by the Nine Illusions Life Extinguishing Flower.”

Upon entering, Qin Yichen had not even breathed, yet this dazed consciousness told him this was the prelude to the Nine Illusions Life Extinguishing Flower’s illusion taking effect. He could not help feeling alarmed.

Without the barrier at the cave entrance, once the floral fragrance dispersed outward, all the experts in this region would fall into illusion. What a terrifying calamity that would be!

“Once trapped in the Nine Illusions Life Extinguishing Flower’s illusion, even if forcibly awakened, it would cause extreme harm. *Haiz…* I can only hope he maintains his heart through it all…”

Outside the cave, suspended in mid-air, Yu Qianqiu sighed deeply, murmuring softly.

Though Qin Yichen possessed outstanding talent, he was ultimately still only at the Martial Emperor Realm, his Spiritual Energy was merely at the Peak of the Earth Grade. However monstrous his abilities, achieving remarkable performance on the Heaven Stairway would be difficult.

Since preventing him from participating in the Heaven Stairway was impossible, they could only employ this extraordinary method to increase his strength.

Moreover, even if he failed and sustained injury, the Brilliant Sky Sacred Land possessed sufficient medicine for him to recover. This way, it might even make Qin Yichen recognize his own insufficiencies and voluntarily abandon the thought of trying to climb the Heaven Stairway.

Within the pitch-black cave, streams of dense black mist, like Demons released from captivity, howled forth from the Demonic Nine Illusions Life Extinguishing Flower, sweeping throughout the entire cave.

This floral fragrance, accumulated over untold years, had become concentrated like ink. Even a Heaven Grade Alchemist entering would likely face grim prospects.

This was something even Yu Qianqiu had not anticipated.

After all, even in the Brilliant Sky Sacred Land, no one had entered this place before.

Originally, the Brilliant Sky Sacred Land’s Ancestors had stated that only those who had achieved Unity of Heart and Soul were qualified to enter. In other words, not just within the Brilliant Sky Sacred Land, even across the entire Sacred Lands territory, those qualified to enter could be counted on one hand.

Subtle Spiritual Energy fluctuations surrounded Qin Yichen’s body, completely isolating the ink-like mist. Within thirty centimetres from his body, there was no black mist.

With his Spiritual Energy cultivation, Qin Yichen could maintain his consciousness for a short period without issue. However, his purpose in coming here was not merely preservation, but to temper his Spiritual Energy!

*Huu…*

After a moment, Qin Yichen drew a deep breath, his expression gradually becoming calm as his mental state settled. Then, the faint Spiritual Energy barrier around him began gradually thinning.

As the Spiritual Energy barrier diminished, the pitch-black, ink-like mist immediately showed its fangs and claws, like Demons from Hell, they frantically surging toward him.

[Nine Illusions Life Extinguishing Flower, let me broaden my horizons and witness your formidable power!] Qin Yichen’s eyes slowly closed.

*Hum…*

Finally, the black fragrance mist engulfed Qin Yichen’s body. In that instant, heartbeat, breathing… all sounds completely disappeared. The pitch-black cave fell into utter silence.

“You can only rely on yourself now. Don’t disappoint me!” Suspended in mid-air, gazing at the cave that had fallen silent, Yu Qianqiu also released a long breath, then murmured to himself.

After his body was engulfed by this black fragrance mist, Qin Yichen felt his consciousness plunge into darkness.

Time became meaningless. Perhaps an instant, perhaps an hour, a day, or a month. In the endless darkness, the black gradually receded. Faint traces of weak light slowly emerged.

With the appearance of this light, Qin Yichen’s eyes slowly opened. An unfamiliar scene gradually imprinted itself in his vision.

A grey, hazy sky, then an endless, vast expanse of earth. The ground presented a dark red colour, like dried bloodstains. An ancient, sinister aura filled the entire space, making one’s hair stand on end.

On this seemingly endless plain, a figure gazed at the scene with some bewilderment, shaking his head with a bitter smile.

This figure was precisely Qin Yichen. Looking at this vast earth, he felt rather helpless. His diminutive silhouette, standing in this immense Heaven and Earth, appeared extremely strange.
