Chapter 360, Army of Steel

“Li Yuanba, I entrust these twenty thousand cavalry to you. Don’t disappoint me!” The Carefree Prince told Li Yuanba while observing the hundred thousand troops.

“I’ve been itching to kill those bastards! With your troops backing me, what’s a million-strong army?”

Without another word, Li Yuanba shouldered his giant hammer and headed toward the army behind Ancient Mountain Pass.

The twenty thousand cavalry, under Li Yuanba’s command, quietly moved to flank the enemy.

……

“Commander, three days have passed with no movement from Ancient Mountain Pass!”

A scout reported to Yi Qunlin and Qian Wengang.

“No movement?” Yi Qunlin and Qian Wengang exchanged glances, their eyes showing amusement.

It seemed like the Li Family’s words were true. The Great Prosperity Grand Empire would be too busy with internal strife to quickly reinforce the border.

“Send out my order: Take Ancient Mountain Pass within a day, at all cost!” Yi Qunlin waved his hand, issuing the command.

The million-strong army had been outside Ancient Mountain Pass for several days.

First, they were delayed for two days fearing heavy losses. Then, another day by a terrifying brute, defending the pass on his own. Finally three more days after the Carefree Prince arrived. Due to caution… It has been six days, a full six days!

The million troops of two allied Grand Empires had not advanced a step against Ancient Mountain Pass. If word spread, they would become the greatest laughing stock among other Grand Empire’s Grand Marshals!

Yi Qunlin and Qian Wengang could not worry about that anymore though. After three days’ wait, surely the fifty thousand soldiers atop Ancient Mountain Pass were close to collapsing from the mental strain!

“Kill!” At the command, the million troops surged like a flood toward Ancient Mountain Pass’s gateway.

“They’re coming!”

Atop Ancient Mountain Pass, the soldiers gripped their weapons, eyes fixed on the approaching million-strong army.

Watching them draw closer, the Carefree Prince took a deep breath. Victory or defeat would be decided here.

“Charge!” After a brief charge, the allied Forces’ soldiers orderly formed two-man rows advancing towards Ancient Mountain Pass.

The vanguard soldiers were surprised to see no response from Ancient Mountain Pass.

“Charge! They’re out of rolling stones! Break down their gates!”

Seeing this, the cautiously advancing soldiers rejoiced, charging even more vigorously at Ancient Mountain Pass.

“No response? Their soldiers must have truly broken down…”

Seeing the situation ahead, Yi Qunlin and Qian Wengang exchanged amused glances.

What of the Carefree Prince?

Decades had passed – he was just old bones now. With demoralized troops, how could he resist a million-strong army?

As they assumed Ancient Mountain Pass would fall, a figure slowly rose into the air from within.

“The Carefree Prince!”

Seeing this figure, the million troops briefly faltered, but soon resumed charging. One Carefree Prince could not possibly stop a million troops alone!

“Xia Zelei, surrender! I respect you as a true man – submit to my Great Ease Grand Empire and live out your days in luxury!” Across the armies, Yi Qunlin shouted toward Ancient Mountain Pass.

The Carefree Prince remained silent against Yi Qunlin’s provocation, hovering motionless, his gaze fearless.

“Playing tricks, huh? Think you can intimidate us? Slaughter everyone on Ancient Mountain Pass! Capture the Carefree Prince alive! Kill everyone else!” At Yi Qunlin’s roar, the vanguard frantically charged forward, screaming about capturing the Carefree Prince.

The Carefree Prince gave no order regarding these frenzied vanguard soldiers. Only when a black torrent appeared in his vision did a smile touch his lips.

The black torrent charged from the million-strong army’s flank. It was his cavalry, equipped with Qin Yichen’s Black Cloud Weapons and Armour!

At the front of the twenty thousand cavalry, Li Yuanba charged first, wielding his hammer with a frenzied expression.

“Grand Marshals! Our flank is under attack!” Someone reported to Yi Qunlin and Qian Wengang in their tent.

“How many?” Yi Qunlin frowned.

“About twenty thousand!”

“Twenty thousand? *Hmph!* Slaughter them all!” Hearing it was only twenty thousand, Yi Qunlin sneered, coldly spitting out these words.

“Brothers, those fools are here to die! The Grand Marshal has ordered their extermination!”

On the flank, a commander roared. Already impatient about needing to wait to enter Ancient Mountain Pass. This attack suited him perfectly.

Upon listening to his roar, the army quickly turned to charge towards the twenty thousand black cavalry.

Halfway there, this commander saw Li Yuanba leading the charge. Seeing that dark red hammer stained with dried blood, his eye twitched and he instinctively avoided the center position.

This man had single-handedly held his ground for a full day, even sending Martial Kings flying with his hammer. What chance did he have?

“Kill!” After avoiding Li Yuanba, the commander’s eyes filled with murderous intent. He raised his blade, viciously slashing at an approaching soldier.

*Clang!*

Upon their first clash, the commander froze. His weapon had been cut through by an ordinary soldier’s blade!

“How… how did he do that?!”

*Swoosh!* Before the commander could react, a black blade crossed his neck, and his head flew to the sky.

This phenomenon appeared countless times in the initial clash. The allied soldiers found their weapons shattering against the twenty thousand cavalry’s arms, while their own strikes could not even pierce through the cavalry’s armour!

“What… what are their weapons and armour made of!? How can they be so sharp and so hard!?”

Countless soldiers had this same thought as they died.

Li Yuanba swung his hammer unopposed. After some fighting, he was shocked to find his cavalry keeping pace instead of falling behind!

“Kill!” Soon Li Yuanba noticed his side had an overwhelming advantage in terms of their weapons and armour. Roaring, he swung his hammer, carving a bloody path.

With Li Yuanba leading, the twenty thousand cavalry became an unstoppable black torrent. Like a sharp sword, they covered several kilometres instantly, cutting into the million-strong army.

With their unstoppable momentum, they might just cleave the million troops in half.
