Chapter 1744: How Long Can He Hold On?

Lord Dante looked at Grey, his eyes glowing fiercely. He wasnʼt bothered about the treasure he was about to lose. Even though acquiring it had been very dangerous, he didnʼt even care about it. In his eyes, Grey was worth more than these useless treasures, it wasnʼt like he had any use for the treasure to begin with. If Grey could develop, the chances of someone like him reaching the Half God Plane was at least thirty percent, and this is what frightened and excited him. He has never seen anyone with an almost hundred percent chance of getting to the Half God Plane. In fact, the success rate of almost a hundred percent of Elementalists born in the Aurora Continent to break through to the Half God Plane is around three percent for each individual.

Grey having at least a thirty percent chance of breaking through to the Half God Plane was shocking. Thatʼs at least having a hundred times the probability of breaking through than a normal Elementalist. Of course, there are talents like these Ninth stage Sovereigns whose odds were a shocking fifteen percent. However, Grey had at least double this chance.

Given the talent Grey possessed, Lord Dante knew that it wasnʼt a matter of if Grey would become a Half God Plane expert, but a matter of when. As long as Grey was given time, he would be able to achieve this. Thinking about this, he wasnʼt too interested in the outcome of this fight. The only reason heʼs letting the fight go on is because he wants to see the extent of Greyʼs abilities. If Grey even shows potential far higher than what he has shown so far, then his chances of breaking through to the Half God Plane would increase exponentially. He couldnʼt help but look at Grey with a hint of expectation.

On the platform, Grey was standing looking at the Ninth stage Sovereigns, his gaze burning with fighting intent; anyone who saw him could tell that his blood was rumbling. Clearly, he was eager for this fight.

If these people hadnʼt witnessed Greyʼs abilities prior to this, they would think that a Sixth stage Sovereign daring to look at a Ninth stage Sovereign was simply seeking death, but none of them felt this way. Theyʼve all witnessed Greyʼs methods on a few occasions, and an even more shocking one a few minutes ago, making their expressions become solemn. Theyʼve all guessed that the carelessness of the young man is the reason Grey was able to

overwhelmingly defeat him, but that didnʼt change the fact that Greyʼs physique was too overbearing.

While Greyʼs eyes glanced through the group of Ninth stage Sovereigns, he made sure to avoid making contact with the young lady he felt a hint of pressure from. He didnʼt want to fight with the young lady. From the pressure he felt from this young lady, he didnʼt want to spar with her. Unless it was a life-and-death battle, he didnʼt have any hopes of defeating her. Since he was basically restricted from using all his battle experience, the best he could do was avoid her and battle the others he had some confidence he could defeat.

The young lady at Grey curiously, seeing that he was avoiding her gaze, a light flashed across the depths of her mind, and just as she was about to take a step forward, she paused as another young lady in the Ninth stage walked out.

The young lady looked at Grey with serious eyes and jumped on the platform, landing a considerable distance away from Grey.

”Youʼre the one ranked fifth?” Grey asked, he could already guess, but he didnʼt want to make any mistakes.

The young lady nodded, but to her surprise, Grey turned to the Elder, seemingly wanting to get confirmation from him too. Seeing Grey so distrustful, she couldnʼt help but snort coldly, ”What benefits does lying to you have for me?”

Grey ignored her words and kept his gaze on the body of the Elder. The Elder nodded, confirming to Grey that the young lady was the person ranked fifth. Seeing Greyʼs intention was to challenge the young lady for the fifth position, he agreed to it and called for the start of the battle.

The second the battle started, the young lady unleashed her fiery domain to surround the space around her, making sure that Grey wouldnʼt be able to draw close to her. As long as she could ensure that Grey didnʼt get close to her, she was confident that she could win.

Greyʼs previous opponent wasnʼt able to show his strength since he was greatly suppressed by him. She didnʼt want the same thing to happen to her.

Seeing the young lady cautiously choose to do this, everyone nodded in agreement. In truth, if they were in her position, they, too, would make the same first move. After all, Greyʼs physique was powerful, but his elemental essence strength couldnʼt be compared to the young lady who was a Ninth stage Sovereign.

Grey knew the young lady wouldnʼt give him the same opportunity as the previous young man, so he didnʼt even get that idea. He placed both his hands in front of him and two overlapping arrays circled around them. Creating two long snakes with both his fire and lightning elements. On each hand, the two overlapping arrays both gave off the aura of his fire and lightning elements in each hand, respectively.

Not only that, but Grey also brought out the power of his lightning and fire domain. None of the duo immediately attacked, rather, they seemingly prepped themselves to the limit, and before everyoneʼs eyes, an earthshaking battle ensued.

Boom!

Both parties took action at the same time, moving like a bolt of lightning, they started to engage each other, but using multiple attacks in a matter of seconds.

The very air shook as the duo started their fight. However, from the short moves exchanged by both patients, it was clear that the young lady had the advantage, but to everyoneʼs shock, Grey was able to at least hold on against her.

ʼHow long will he last?ʼ

They didnʼt believe Grey could defeat her, especially seeing how she was suppressing. All they wanted to know was how long he would be able to hold on.
