Affinity: Chaos

1727  Youʼre Nothing Special II

”Faction Leader Beatrice, correct me if Iʼm wrong, but the information we received about your Faction is that you only accepted members of only the female gender.” The young lady tried to understand the situation. They didnʼt know much about the Moonlight Faction, and when she was told to come receive them, she inquired about the Faction and she was told exactly this, so seeing Grey, she almost felt like this wasnʼt the group sheʼs supposed to come receive. ”I see the Elders left out the information, but indeed we only accept female students, he is an exception.” Faction Leader Beatrice didnʼt get angry over the young ladyʼs question. When she met with the Elder from this Faction, she naturally told them about the Faction, not forgetting to also tell them about Klaus. The two Elders by the young ladyʼs side nodded when they saw her looking in their direction, and she quickly apologized after getting confirmation from the Elders. Faction Leader Beatrice didnʼt think much of it. Klaus, on the other hand, had a different thought about this. He didnʼt like the look the young lady gave when she saw him. He was an outstanding and handsome young man, how could he bear to be looked down on?

One of the young ladies behind Klaus from the Moonlight Faction seemed to have noticed that Klaus was upset, and before Klaus could make a move, she pinched himo on the back. Klaus yelped in pain, but reacted quickly, hiding the pain in his heart as he turned to glare at the young lady who pinched. It was none other than the same young lady who taunted him to the point that he challenged an Elder in the Seventh stage. Of all those in the Faction, although she was the one who quarreled the most with Klaus(losing most of the time), she could also be said to be the one closest to Klaus in the Faction. She had gone on a few expeditions with Klaus and had come to understand his character. He was unrestrained, and he didnʼt care who the opposition was, as long as he didnʼt have a favorable impression of them, he would treat them badly. ʼShe didnʼt mean any harm.ʼ She transmitted to Klaus. She didnʼt dare to speak out, so as not to offend these people. These were people from ancient Factions that fought and helped keep the Aurora Continent away from the hands of the Gnomes, so she was naturally respectful, unlike Klaus who didnʼt care about them. The truth is, Klausʼ situation couldnʼt be helped. He was from a place where a First stage Sage Plane Elementalist was regarded as a God. Since coming to the Aurora Continent, he has always believed that there were always people and places superior to wherever he was, so why should he think too highly of these people who couldnʼt even hold a candle to people who might be in a better position? Grey alone is enough to make all these people run back to their caves once he gets to the Half God Plane. Klaus was confident that in the same Plane, Grey was unparalleled. On the other hand, barring Grey, he didnʼt believe there were others in the same cultivation stage as himself that could beat him. If it were in the past, he wouldnʼt be this confident, but after everything he has gone through over the past few years, he is certain that he will be able to defeat these people with no difficulties. In fact, he somewhat looked down on these people. Just like Grey, he felt that given that these people have been hiding like turtles over the past hundreds of not thousands of years, they didnʼt know what it truly meant to be an Elementalist. ʼPracticing with no danger to their lives, leading such an easy life.ʼ A hint of jealousy could be sensed in Klausʼ voice, but it still didnʼt change the fact that he didnʼt think highly of them. First of all, he was mad at the fact that these people are regarded so highly, yet he and his friends were the ones who dared to sneak into the Gnome World to cause havoc while these guys stayed in their homes. Of course, he couldnʼt be too mad at them since no one sent them on that expedition. Klausʼ sudden movement drew the attention of everyone, and the Faction Leader quickly spoke up. ”I believe Granny is waiting for us inside?” She spoke, taking the attention away from the troublesome villain.

”Yes, please forgive my manners.” The young lady bowed again, apologizing. Her question was what took all their time. She had no reason to speak with the Elders, so she left them to speak by themselves while she focused her attention on Klaus and the other young ladies. 13:55

”Iʼm Suzanne, and these are Elder Mia and Claire.” She introduced herself, and being already familiar with Faction Leader Beatrice, she moved to the youths. She had no reason to speak with the Elders, so she left them to speak by themselves while she focused her attention on Klaus and the other young ladies. The group walked as they all introduced themselves. After finding out the names of all the young ladies, she turned her attention to the only gentleman in the group who had kept to himself all this while. Klaus, sensing her getting closer didnʼt react, he walked behind the Faction Leader who was accompanying the Elders from the ancient Faction into the water. ”Hi, Iʼm sorry if my earlier question offended you.” The young lady apologized to Klaus as soon as she got close. Klaus didnʼt expect her to apologize so quickly, so he waved his hand to tell her he didnʼt mind. Of course he very much does mind! But he couldnʼt continue to act petty even after she had apologized now, could he? The young lady could tell that Klaus didnʼt have a favorable impression of him and asked, ”What may I call you?” ʼYoung Lord.ʼ

This was the statement Klaus almost blurted out, but he quickly kept shut and said, ”Klaus.”

The young lady kept a mental note of his name before leaving.
