Affinity: Chaos

Chapter 1667  You Have A Minute

Grey was fascinated by what he was seeing, he couldnʼt believe that there was a way an attack sequence could be made like this. Itʼs not that he hasnʼt seen two people use their elements to complement each otherʼs attacks, itʼs just that on such a large scale, he has never seen anything like this. The intricacies required to achieve something like this is unprecedented. For someone like him. It isnʼt difficult since heʼs the one who was using all elements which meant that he was using a single mind, these people on the other hand needs an insane amount of understanding of each other. If Klaus and Reynolds were to attempt something like this, after a few tries, heʼs sure they will be able to get it. However, once Alice is added to the mix, the difficulty will increase exponentially.

Grey bowed to the statue and went to the next one to continue the process, he almost felt it was a ritual of some sort. He didnʼt think too much about it and continued. As long as he could leave this place, and also get some benefits, he didnʼt mind In the next vision, the fire element appeared, a lava swamp appeared, and just above this swamp was a snow and lightning storm hanging above it, whoever is trapped in this will find it almost impossible to exit the place unscathed. Grey went on to the next scene and the wind element appeared, increasing the intensity of all elements. In the next vision, the darkness element came, and then the light and finally the space element. At the end of everything, the light element destroyed the particles of the people in the army, what was left was seemingly shifted to another dimension, possibly the void where their bodies would be destroyed by spatial disturbances. Before the light and space elemental visions, Grey noticed the absence of two statues, he couldnʼt help but wonder what happened to those statues. He didnʼt have any idea as to what these two statues were and what they held, they seemed to have been ripped from this place by someone, and he could tell that it was a long time ago. After getting all eight visions, he noticed that he was being sent to somewhere else, he couldnʼt help but heave a sigh of relief, he didnʼt expect that he would leave right after he got all eight visions, but he was happy to leave. He didnʼt mind implementing this technique into his battles, the reason he has been refraining from using too many flashy moves is due to the limitations of his body, he couldnʼt use so many elemental attacks at the same time, unless he was certain that it was a large scale attack like this one, and that he wouldnʼt necessarily need to be involved in another battle. Over the years, he has always ensured that he avoided overusing his elemental essence, which is the reason he has barely ever ran out whenever he fights, itʼs not that he doesnʼt run low, but he has a very large essence reserve, and is also very calculative, so he has been able to avoid being in that position for years now. Heʼs not the only one who always acts in that manner. All Elementalists are taught to always make sure they never run out of elemental essence since running out is almost technically the same as leaving yourself defenseless. If maybe an Elementalist gets into a tough fight and exhausts himself to defeat his opponent, he can be killed by someone much weaker than him at that moment. There are even cases of Elementalists dying of over exhaustion after being in a tough drawn out battle. …. ”Youʼve got to be kidding me.”

Grey muttered in exasperation as he looked at the scene before him, he thought that he was supposed to leave this place after getting all eight visions, but he didnʼt think that he would actually be transported into the world from the vision and placed in the position of the eight figures. This is not a position he wished to see himself, being here means that thereʼs a chance he would be asked to replicate the skills used by the eight figures. A sentence appeared in his mind. ʼDefeat the army in one minute.ʼ ”What the fuck do you mean in one minute?!” Grey couldnʼt keep his cool. He wasnʼt like those people, yes, he was confident in his abilities, but defeating an entire army in a minute is insane to think about. He tried to sense the cultivation stages of the army, praying in his heart that they shouldnʼt be any stronger than the Overlord Plane, even Early stages Venerables would be too hard for him to kill in such a short time. This was an army of hundreds of thousands and the figures expected him to defeat them in such a short time. The disparity between a Venerable and Sovereign is huge, but once the number is in thousands, not just thousands, but hundreds of thousands, then it was almost nonexistent. Yes, the Sovereign still had the advantage in terms of strength, but just the sheer numbers that were against him is enough to make the difference in strength insubstantial.

Grey didnʼt have time to think, the battle had started. He has never used any attack on such a large scale before, and thinking about the essence needed, he couldnʼt help but feel like he was in trouble. He tried to contact Void and the bunny leader to see if he could get any help from them, but he realized that he was alone. Even his connection with Void wasnʼt present. ʼDamn it!ʼ He didnʼt have a choice, he had to fight!

ʼMeteor descent!ʼ

ʼLightning rain!ʼ

ʼSea of flames!ʼ

He used every large scale attack he could think of, used his arrays, fusion orbs, but it was as if the army wasnʼt reducing in any way. He didnʼt even dare to think of using something on the scale of the figures in his vision. Itʼs not just that he didnʼt dare, but he couldnʼt do anything on that scale. There is a massive difference between his level of control over the elements and that of those figures. A minute went by very quickly, and with everything Grey did, he didnʼt take out more than a tenth of the army. The army wasnʼt standing there waiting to be slaughtered like sheeps, so even if he could kill more, with their collective defense, they managed to block some of his attacks, reducing the level of impact. Greyʼs figure flashed and he appeared in a room, a dark room that had only a futon to sit on. He sat down in a meditative position and noticed that he wasnʼt tired. ʼLooks like me going all out there wouldnʼt affect me once I leave that place.ʼ He thought to himself. He didnʼt recall seeing any room in the building, just the Hall. He studied the place and could tell that it was made from the same materials as the building. This is a place within the building, itʼs just hidden from the eyes of others. Grey rested for about ten minutes before he was sucked into that world once again. This time, before even the sentence appeared in his head, he attacked. He went all out. For the first time in a long time, he didnʼt restrict himself, didnʼt hold back, he unleashed everything he could. Boom! Bam! Bang! He charged straight into the army like a madman as he attacked anyone and everyone. ….

The Lyttelton Manor. Greyʼs grandfather came back to where the portal was located. Martha and his wife were still there, this time, he came back with two Old men in tow.

When the two Old men saw the situation before them, they looked just as shocked as everyone else. ”This… what happened?” One of them asked, staring at Greyʼs grandfather. Greyʼs grandfather told them everything that happened, from how Grey was forced back by the portal to how he tried repeatedly until he was finally able to see some signs that he could enter, and how all three portals started to merge as he was finally halfway through going in.

”Thatʼs…” Both Elders exchanged glances, they didnʼt have a single idea about what was happening. This has never happened, nor was there anything saying that something like this would happen. This secret realm was created by some God Plane experts a long time ago, hence the reason it was relatively different from the ones that had those horned races or other races living in them. ”Is Grey going to be alright?” Martha asked the Elders. ”Little girl, you still dare to come back here after cutting ties with us?” One of the Old men asked with an angered expression. If one takes a good look at him, theyʼll notice the small resemblance Martha has to him. ”Grandfather.” Martha dropped her head, unlike how feisty she usually is when speaking to her father, she was more conserved in the presence of her grandfather. ”Oh, you still remember Iʼm your grandfather?” One could see the visible anger in the Old manʼs face.
